Those are intriguing. I googled her, but her blog stops in Nov 2017 and the publish date a the bottom is 2015. Is she still in business? Would like to see current work.

That topo cover is amazing- I hadn’t previously seen it! I love her minimalistic DD albums- just watched the 2017 flip through for the umpteenth time this morning.

Would like to see current work. yes, she's still in business with a shop but she posts sporadically, in regards to selling the limited acrylic books. She has a few for sell now in her shop here. She may have current work on instagram: link

I also love Jamaica's style, but she rarely posts anything anymore. I wonder if she's still creating very often.
I picked up her mini kit from Kelly Purkey this year + just purchased the 4x4 frosted white album and the 4x6 green album. I am torn what to use for my december daily... the mini kit she created is 4x6, but I really would prefer the frosted white. She occasionally comes out with releases through Kelly Purkey's shop and I always purchase them all. She hasn't done any releases outside of December Daily for a couple of years though.

She designed Pen Name for SC in March. If you have the kit from last year it was 4x4, you could also turn the KP digital kit from this year into 4x4. I plan to print the digital kit (if we get the digital free this year again with purchase), along with last years to use for a project in January. I'm not sure how often she creates anymore. It could be a lot, but just isn't photographed or not so much. It seems there is an ebb and flow with creating and sharing in memory keeping, dependent on a person's current life status which is understandable.

Mini BookLooking at your album reminded me of how great the patterns on the papers were, loved the first page. I took the class too, but have yet to make a book. Thanks for reminding me as it will be a great book for next year.

I like her albums. I just find the sizes she usually sells to be too small for the things I want to document (though I am getting the preorder 3x8).

I’m glad you started a thread about Jamaica — love her work.
I cringe every time I see the #jedmakes though because I had a past colleague that everyone clashed with named Jed. Cringe cringe

Cringe cringe someone took her older ig handle jamaicakes, so Jed it is. I always find it hilarious how a name can be off putting depending on a past experience with someone, it took me quite a few names to get through when it was time to give my children names lol!

Did anyone order any of Jamaica's albums from her newest release?
I received my albums yesterday and I am currently deciding which album to use for DD. Are you using any of the albums for DD or do you stash them for events and vacations?

I’ve used her 3x8 for the last two years and really love the DD in an album without a spine. Did you go back and get the frosted white? I’m kicking myself for not getting it, but I’m not sure I want to pay for shipping again.

I plan to use the 4x5 sea glass album for my DD. If you really think you’ll regret not getting the White I would grab it as she doesn’t re-make the same colors again, except the clear acrylics sometime.

I picked up the 4x6 tree album and the 4x4 frosted white. I really prefer the frosted white look, but I wanted to create my album in 4x6 with the Jamaica kit from KP. I like the tree album in person more than I did online, but I'm still annoyed she didn't offer the frosted white in that size. I'm not sure what I'll do with the 4x4 album right now, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it sometime. I'm getting back into mini albums more.

I am also getting more into mini albums for events, vacations and I have decided to do all my DD as mini books. Jamaica had a beautiful 4x4 holiday set last year that you could use for the frosted 4x4 or consider cutting some of your 6x6 paper pads into 4x4 (assuming you have some. Side note: I am pretty bummed that the digital wasn’t free with the holiday kits this year for KP. I would like to have the digital version of Jamaica’s kit again.

amidwestkingdom and lasteve1 are you both using the tree album for your DD? I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that it’s exactly 4x6. Are you planning on punching through your 4x6 photos/cards to include them on the rings or will you cut them down and include in (customized?) PPs?

I'm using the sea glass album, with the following dimensions: 4.25" wide x 5.125" tall (sized to work with 4” x 5” photos), with the etched label on the front for my DD. So, I'll cut down 1" from 4"x6" photos and cards, etc. I will also include custom page protectors and have a lot outside of page protectors. The tree album dimensions are: 6.25" wide x 4.125" tall, so you do not have to punch into your 4"x6" photos, unless you want to. Page protectors can also work.

Are you planning on punching through your 4x6 photos/cards to include them on the rings or will you cut them down and include in (customized?) PPs? I am using the tree album and I do plan to punch directly into my photos/cards similar to the album Jamaica made herself last year (it's saved on her instagram stories, but it is 4x4). I also will include some custom page protectors so that I can include 3x4 cards and photos without losing too much of the card/photo with the punched holes. I always worry about including things outside of the page protectors, but even in the larger 6x8 albums people tend to include somethings outside of the page protectors (myself included) and they tend to hold up fine over the years. The biggest thing I am going to try to avoid are very many dimensional embellishments because, from flipping through my old albums, I really see the wear & tear when a dimensional embellishment is pressed up against a photo--in a page protector or not. I have played around with the album a bit already and you can't include 4x6 photos in page protectors. Although the album is *slightly* larger than 4x6, this just gives a small buffer around the pages to protect them within the cover, it definitely does not include enough space for the hole punches in a page protector. You could probably create a custom 4x5 page protector though, or I guess include 4x6 page protectors if you punched through the pocket & the card/photos instead of having an extra strip with the holes (does this make sense). I was able to cut down page protectors to make custom ones that include 3x4 pockets, but the pockets need to be slightly trimmed across the top to not stick out of the top of the album--it seems like 3x4 cards still fit though without sticking out of the top. I plan on sharing my pages as I create on my crafty instagram @lindalovescreating and I would love to follow along with others that are doing the same/similar size/style! SaveSave

I used to follow her back in her Paislee Press DT days. I liked a lot of what she did, but where I am wordy, she barely writes anything. Her captions in scrapbooks (and on IG) were brief/vague which just perplexes me. I can't write 4 words on the back of a photo in pencil and call it good! Anyway, I searched her projects on PP in case anyone missed them/wanted some older inspiration. Jamaica on PP

Jamaica on PPI agree about the journaling and I think this is going to be the biggest challenge for me in trying to fit my December daily in a Jamaica sized album. I’m just going to try to keep it brief and remind myself that I also have project life to tell more of the story.

I agree, if you're used to a 6"x8" or larger size for journaling it will be a bit difficult to use her albums for your journaling needs. I love journaling and I find that I can generally fit what I need to say in any size, it's probably due to my editing days at a magazine, lol!
