nylene, waterbeads. Here's a . The journaling reads "Gabriella found the waterbeads. Instead of using just part of a package she used the whole pack. We had to up the bowl size. But we had fun playing with these for a week." I hope that you post a pic of Steve's pens. Ender is our beagle that we got in 2016. My plumber showed up today and got the faucet on. Then I removed the caulking around the sink and re-caulked it so it looked nice.

LisaDV , I misread your title and thought it said Waterbreads. I know about water beads but thought there were some that could be used in bread! LOL, Silly me. I tried to read the journaling to find out about it, but it was too small. I was thinking if there was a way to use them, you'd figure it out. Cute little Ender. Glad you got your faucet fixed.

woodysbetty-thinking of you and the stress of having your house on the market grammadee- Welcome home again! lisadv- love the layouts. such a cute dog and so glad you got the plumbing fixed kellyr21 congrats on the prize! And finding the craft group.
justlisa7, I hope you have a great time with your DD.
nylene- I'll post some old pics of a few of my nativities... they are not expensive or special, but I enjoy them. Some of these are gone ..broken or whatever and I have a few more, now. I never seem to display them the same way each year. I took these pics to help me maybe do them faster the next year, but that didn't work! I made a "nativity garden" today. I posted about it on the craft thread.
Thanks for all the compliments on my den. I'm enjoying it.

Good Morning! @elaynef your new room is beautiful! It looks so relaxing and so light! I love lots of natural light, I can't stand rooms that are dark during the day. kellyr21 I'm so glad the fires aren't in your area. It's so heartbreaking to read about them and so devastating for those in the path of it. The busy bees sounds fun! I really need to find a group in this area. LisaDV I'm so sorry for your loss, and all your plumbing troubles! I hope the plumber can fit you in soon! One good thing is the no cooking though! I've never liked the idea of washing dishes in the bathtub, idk, just something about that lol. I just love your digi work. I left love on sketch thread and I love those colors you chose for the pup, so bright and happy! I really hope life settles down for you soon! Just read your update that it's fixed. Yay!! grammadee I'm sure you are so glad to have that Disney Album done! And happy to be home even with your own plumbing problems. Life gets so chaotic at times and it really makes me appreciate the times it's calm and peaceful! justlisa7 enjoy your family!! More memories to scrap nylene, I just love that you have a card club. Making so many cards for such good causes has to feel good! I'm happy for your DH that he can still enjoy his hobbies as well. I hope you are both doing well and feeling better. I've been busy getting ready for my "stress free" Thanksgiving. I get the 4 days off from work and it's my favorite weekend since it's 4 days. But it will be busy. I will have all the boys here for nearly the entire 4 days. I always dream of scrappy time on that weekend, but it never quite turns out that way. Although my youngest son 27 wants to scrap with me that weekend so that will be fun. He brought it up a couple weeks ago and I told him about the PL app so he's been having fun playing with that. I think I will have him share his pages with me and get them printed into a book for him when he has enough. I've also been doing some Christmas shopping which is really early for me and I will probably finish up over Thanksgiving. Most years I'm doing most of my shopping well into the month of December, and it figures I would finish early this year since it's my first year doing a December album lol. I have such a love/hate relationship with the holidays. They are fun, but I'm always so glad when they are over and things get quiet again lol. I haven't scrapped much this month, I have one layout done that I need to get posted, and a couple to finish up, but I'm not inspired to finish them so I will probably set them aside and try something else. I'm on a spending freeze with justjac and a few others and I swear the shopping spurs the scrapping more than the other way around. Maybe this freeze with help get that flipped the right direction! msliz card will go out this weekend and then I will work on getting the rest ready to go. Waving Hi to everyone and hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!

Yay for plumbers! Glad you now have the kitchen faucet working properly, LisaDV. Ours showed up yesterday and fixed the hot water tank and furnace, so both the water and the house are now toasty warm. Love your nativities, @elaynef. I love buying gifts for people who have collections like this. My sil collects angels, and I am on the hunt for one for her this week. Busy next few days. Heading into town today to put msliz's card in the mail, along with a grad card and gift for my dgs. We are meeting friends for lunch, and then I am going on to the next town to take in my vacation album and my family calendar for printing. Will be doing a bit of shopping as well. Friday morning I will board the Seniors' bus going to a craft fair (hoping to get my angel there). We will be gone for the day. Saturday justjac and I and one more person will be making Christmas cards. Hope the ladies don't mind a messy house, cuz who has time to do housecleaning??? Here are the cards I finished this morning. November cards by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here are a couple of my favorite pages from earlier in the month. That's 4 items, so I will claim another point for the Pokey Peas challenge ha ha! 2019 cover by Gramma Dee, on Flickr OLAF by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a great weekend, everyone!

I was so sorry to hear about the fires kellyr21. I am glad they are not in your area, but the smoke can be a real hazard. @elaynef your room looks great. We are starting to think about doing some renos in our place now that DH former house is all done and on the market. We will probably wait until it sells, though. LisaDV I'm glad your plumber came through and yours, too, grammadee. joyfulnana my freeze has been semi-successful. I got around it once by getting DH to buy me what I wanted (a scrapbook advent package) as part of my Christmas gift. I also joined 30 days of lists for December which cost $10USD. For me, this is pretty awesome because I spent so much in the last four months. My break is over. I will finish updating you at lunch.

@elaynef, such a beautiful Christmas display. joyfulnana, I'm sure you'll love having the boys even if you don't get time to scrap. As for Christmas shopping, I used to finish every year by Thanksgiving. Then Don comes along, I finished by Black Friday (he still waited until Christmas Eve) for several years. Now our lists are joined and it's usually mid December before we're finished. It takes so much stress off the table to finish the shopping early in my opinion. Don disagrees. grammadee, YAY for hot water and heat! Your cards and pages are beautiful. Such a lovely family you have~! Hope you and justjac have lots of fun and makes lots of cards. my freeze has been semi-successful. I got around it once by getting DH to buy me what I wanted (a scrapbook advent package) as part of my Christmas gift. ROFL at this. Not because I've done it, of course. (wink, wink) msliz's card will hopefully be worked on this weekend sometime. DH and DS went out for opening day of deer hunting this morning. DS got his buck. DD & DH are out now. Hoping she gets one this year. She's been out several years and never gotten one - never sees one while she's out there. She even missed seeing the bear the last time they were out. Poor thing. I went to town and did the shopping for the next 2-3 weeks, with the exception of some milk, bread, fruit, and spinach that will need to be purchased later. I was hoping the allergy free bakery would have frozen dinner rolls but I had to order them for pick up next week, so I ordered cinnamon rolls too. I will make homemade gluten cinnamon rolls for the rest of us. Then hers will last longer. When I came home, I only took care of the cold/frozen items (not that they would have warmed outside), so I guess I better go take care of the rest. Then the puppies need love since I've been gone and they can't be outside off the lead and they know DH is out there which makes them pouty.

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are doing well today. We got new phones the other night from Best Buys. My dh and I aren't super techy so it was so great to have the staff there get all our old stuff and put on the new phones as well as set them up. So now we are good to go. Still have some things to figure out but so glad for the new phones. nylene - I found out about this craft group a few weeks ago when I went to a craft fair at their church. They meet every week and are currently working on a Christmas sale for the church. Last week they were getting some items made for the sale. grammadee , I not sure how often I will go but for now I want to help with their upcoming sale. LisaDV - So happy to hear the plumber finally came. You are a skilled girl to do the caulking on your own. Go girl! LOL! @elaynef - Your den area is so nice and spacious, I think all us Peas could have a party there with you. Waving hey to you all and hang in there are you get ready for Thanksgiving. I can't believe it is next week already.

Hey Pokies! Just popping in to say hi & then I will read this months posts. Sorry I have been MIA. I finally qualify for Medicare & did my initial appointment. My Dr. Found I have bigeminy. Fun name for a heart condition. Between now & Christmas I have 7 appointments. Presently I'm wearing a nifty heart monitor. I actually feel pretty ok- just tired & not wanting to do much & it's the holidays with much to do. I have done some scrapping & card making but I am being lazy about posting. Hope to do some this weekend & get most of my cards finished.

Good luck with all your appointments patin. You have accomplished a lot even when not feeling well. kellyr21 I always like to have help with my phone when I get a new one. LisaDV my cousin and brother were hunting last week. They filled their tags. I don't know if they had one or two each. I thought I was doing pretty well on my freeze, but I forgot to include the supplies I bought for painting and mixed media. My cousin, a friend and I did acrylic pour paintings last weekend in my garage and I covering one of my old ones I didn't care for with mixed media. I'm going to say my freeze was scrapbook related and not all art because then I feel better about it. It's DH's birthday today. We are celebrating by going to the local craft fair and trade show and eating junk food. Not the most exciting way to celebrate, but since I'm off to grammadee's tomorrow, it's when we could fit it in.

patin , oh no, I hope the appointments go way. That should have been "WELL". justjac , happy birthday to your dh. It sounds like a perfect day to me - togetherness. I'd totally agree with not including art supplies in your scrapbook freeze. DD & I loved paint pouring. I was thinking we should do it again just this week. kellyr21 , congrats on the new phones. We got dd an android when my old iphone she had failed. I seriously have issues trying to use her phone. Sometimes both kids still show me new aspects of the iphone.

@elaynef, I love each of your Nativities. I made the photos large so I could really enjoy them. They are all so different and wonderful. What a great collection you have. If I were starting my life over, I think that's something I'd love to collect. I agree with kellyr21, we need a party! Then we could fly to grammadee's and have a scrap retreat! patin, I am so sorry you are dealing with this new diagnosis at Christmas. Best wishes on your appointments. Even though it's a crazy busy time, you need to take it easy and follow the doctor's orders. Hugs for you, my friend! LisaDV, I'm glad you got your plumbing fixed and that DS got his deer. I think we would have starved as kids, and the first few years we were married if we hadn't got our deer. I hope DH and DD get theirs too. Food for winter!! justjac, you sound busy, busy. Happy B-Day to DH. I haven't checked the gallery for a couple of days, but if you didn't post your acrylic pour art, I hope you do. grammadee, with all the things you do, how do you substitute at school too? Do you ever run out of energy? I'll go check the gallery later today. I see you have been busy. joyfulnana, how wonderful that your DS wants to do scrapping. PL would probably be great for him. I hope you have a wonderful, restful week! Our Card Club started 10 years ago. We have 8 members and we still have 4 of the original group. The others rotate in and out as life allows and neighbors move in and out. It is really a fun evening once a month. In Dec. we all go to lunch and in the summer we hold an all-day card making Retreat. msliz, your card is winging its way to you, probably through the snow! kellyr21, that Craft group sounds fun! Congrats on new phones. I hope you enjoy them. My family is pressuring me to get a smart phone, but I am resisting. I can't imagine carrying it around with me all the time. I am sure I would set it down and lose it. justlisa7, knutschen and woodysbetty, I am hoping you will all have a great week, with a little time for relaxing and scrapping. We went 7 days without ANY doctor appts for DH. His work has come to an end too until Spring, so I am not always in the car. It has been a much more relaxing 7 days. He has spent a lot of time in the shop which makes him happy. We got some sad news yesterday. My brother was found to have a mass in his pancreas and 2 in the liver. The prognosis is not good. They did surgery yesterday and will put in a stent on Wed, but they are telling him to get things in order. He seems to have a good attitude about it. My sadness is for his wife and his grown kids who have become estranged from him. It's time to make amends! Have a great week, and a Happy Thanksgiving to all our USA Pokeys. I hope to get back on here before that!

nylene I'm so sorry about your brother, I hope they can make amends soon. I've very happy to hear you've had no appointments for 7 days, that had to feel good! Your card club sounds wonderful. I really need to make an effort to find a crafty group here. But my working hours make it hard. kellyr21 - Chiefs vs the Rams tomorrow night! Living here it's impossible not to hear about Mahomes and to get a little caught up in the hype that maybe just maybe the Chiefs have found their premier QB. And everything I've heard about him he seems like a really nice, good kid. I'm really tempted to put the game on, knowing they are playing your team lol. patin that sucks about your diagnosis! But good news on the Medicare front! Take it easy and just do what you can for the holidays. I have syncope and bradycardia so I have a pacemaker, it doesn't keep me alive, just keeps my heart rate from dropping too low (mostly when I'm sleeping) I have done the heart monitor thing too. Not fun. justjac I'm still hanging on with the spending freeze - love how you got around yours though! lol. I had been doing some window shopping on ACOT and things in my cart. They sent me code for 15% to get me to finish the order. I almost did, but looked around my room and emptied the cart. Normally I would have just caved right in - almost did lol. I am thinking about maybe some classes though that will maybe help me use some stuff up so I can eventually shop again lol. Yay to plumbing be fixed LisaDV! And congrats to the hunters for filling their tags. I live on the edge of small woods and see small city deer around here all the time. msliz your card went out yesterday please don't mind the white out on the envelope Waving Hi and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Have a wonderful week!

So sorry to hear about your brother, nylene. I hope he and his family will make amends while they still can. So glad that your dh can still do woodwork. I'll bet that gives him joy. And patin, I hope that there will be a treatment plan that helps with your heart problem. Please look after yourself. Had a busy weekend making Christmas cards. It was fun to create with friends. Hoping to get going on some NON Disney pages this week. Have quite a pile of photos from my visits to Calgary and BC. Have not heard back about work. Last I heard they were deciding if they had a budget to pay me to come in. They were meeting last week. Waving hello to everyone. Hoping all of you celebrating Thanksgiving have a wonderful time with family. I hope to get some holiday baking started this week. And get my Peas Christmas cards into the mail. Maybe write the annual Christmas letter.

Nylene, that boy is so stinking cute and I love that page. My gc say hilarious stuff like that, too and I know I have remembered to scrap a few of them, but they are scattered through more than 50 scrapbooks and not altogether like that. I would frame that page! It is precious.

nylene, I love your Alexism page. I had a little mini-album for dd's when she was a baby. Happy Thanksgiving to the US peas! Hope you are winding down after a good day. We had a feast that could have fed at least 10-12 for the 4 of us. But leftovers and easy leftover meals are planned for the next week. Of course, there were salads in there as well and I had just cleaned 6 heads of romaine before getting the notification to throw out all romaine until the latest Ecoli outbreak is tracked back to the source. I haven't made it out to replace with another lettuce variety, so I hope to on Saturday when we head out to the movies. My biggest excitement was yesterday, I asked DS to take down the games to the basement that they had upstairs. He started to and then came and said there is a snake in the basement. I'm not a good snake/bat/spider person. Don was still at work. So the big boots go on and I go to look. It's not in the basement but on our basement stairs like 1 stair down from the top. DS went out and grabbed me a flat shovel and hoe. My thought was to pin it with he flat shovel and chop it's head off with the hoe. No, before I got it pinned, it headed under the wall partition between the basement and the hallway. So I pinned it and beat the bottom half with the hoe, but couldn't chop through it. We tried my kitchen grabbers (extending reacher grips) to pull him out but couldn't. We called DH. He immediately left to come home, but it's 3 hours away. He said for DS to take a huge nail from his drawer and nailed it into the snake and floor so he couldn't go anywhere. After it was done and I could finally let the shovel go (which was still several minutes after the nail being placed), I was immediately a bit shaky and started looking at houses in the new location which had my kids laughing at me. Later I saw his head was out as he tried to free himself from the nail. I pinned him again, this time with the head out. DS got the BB gun and shot him in the head for me. He was dead. We then left it for DH to take care of when he got home. DH has been going to the basement for me today. I have such a small kitchen that my backup pantry is in the basement as is the freezers. I won't be going down there any time soon. I'm off to bed now. Or at least to play on my phone.

Oh my, lisadv!
You all are so brave. I would still be screaming and would have immediately left the house. No, I would never have gone down there after DS told me! Do you know what kind of snake it was?

I would still be screaming and would have immediately left the house. I think I was internally all that day. I couldn't have left it. I needed to know where it was and where it went if it got away before ds got back. If I knew there was a live snake in the house that I didn't know where it was, we would have went to my sister's and never came back. I'm still a little freaked just going into the back hallway by the doorway. I'm not sure what type of snake it was, don't really care as long as it's gone.

Holy cow LisaDV! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have handled that snake as well as you did! nylene I love the Alex-isms! I have recently started writing down the funny things Rudy says too. And your page design is perfect for that! How stinking cute is Alex?! I hope everyone in the US had a wonderful holiday. It was in the 60's here. And snow coming Sunday. Crazy. The boys got here late afternoon after visiting with their dad's side of the family, ate their second dinner and we watched the movie Home Alone. Neither of them had seen it since becoming adults so they have a different perspective and that movie is still just as funny after all these years lol. I will be going to visit my own mom tomorrow which will be nice. I talk to her a couple times a week on the phone, but it's been several months since I've been to visit.

Hello Pokeys! Hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday spent today exactly the way you wanted to: chasing down deals or relaxing with family, eating leftovers. Did my shopping yesterday while you were eating turkey. Have almost all my Christmas shopping done. My Visa is sobbing in my purse, but no pain; no gain. Hope to finish up by the end of next week. Today I started my Christmas baking. Butter tarts are in the freezer, and I have a couple of different cookie doughs in the fridge to be rolled and baked in the next few days. Tomorrow I hope to make a batch of cookies, but I also want to check out the local craft fair. LisaDV , , I can’t believe you are a snake wrestler! How big was that thing? Many years ago my brother’s new wife found a snake in their potato bin and my brother shot it—with a shot gun! Right in the potato bin. joyfulnana, it sounds like you are having a wonderful holiday weekend. I love the comedy classics. Home Alone and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation are a couple of our favourites.

my brother’s new wife found a snake in their potato bin and my brother shot it—with a shot gun! Right in the potato bin. That's funny! Our snake was 3-4 feet extended. But Don guarantees it wasn't the poisonous kind we have up here. Good for you for almost being finished with the holiday shopping. I made a small start. joyfulnana, I was happy about 40 degrees yesterday. Of course, I didn't go out of the house except to let the dogs out. I need a few more 40+ degree days already though. Enjoy your visit with your mom today! The other day we moved dd's fish tank downstairs and set it up for her goldfish (named Morel) that she won at a local fest in May. He's been in a large plastic pretzel jar. lol. He's been swimming around so energetically, and we've been really enjoying it. I had purchased a few aquatic plants for the bottom, and he has been enjoying them as well. Today we are hoping to go to the movies, and if we do make it out of the house, we plan to get him some fishy friends and a decoration. Don leaves for London at 2:30 am Sunday for the week so I'm hoping to get some cards made tomorrow and maybe a couple of layouts. Hope everyone is having a great finish to their weekend.

Managed to get another batch of Christmas sweets constructed today: some no bake choco cherry bells. They need to dry a bit more before they go into the freezer. Drove into town quickly for the craft fair, and although no one was selling what I was looking for, I did find some alternate gifts for some of those people. We will be in the city on Thursday and Friday, so I hope to grab the last things I need there. Before I got into Christmas mode, I put together a couple of quick Halloween pages: Trick or Treat Sweet Success by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Dh was helping his nephew with the cattle today, so I had the house to myself after I got home from town and I used the time--and the Halloween papers that were scattered all over my counter--to put together this afternoon another two pages plus an insert pocket page to go between them. But by the time I finished it was too dark to photograph the pages. Will share them tomorrow. And in the interest of claiming my Pokey Peas challenge point, here are two pages I finished the other day. Road Trip by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Sunday we will be attending the community dinner theatre brunch and then coming home so dh can watch the Grey Cup (the Canadian Football League final game). Either before we go or after we get home I want to roll out, cut, and bake one batch of the cookie dough I mixed up yesterday.

ok grammadee that snake story is hilarious! You have the cutest grandkids, I love seeing your pages about them! And your choco cherry bells sound yummy! LisaDV 40 degrees is not too bad in MI this time of year! 50's here today and a possible 6 inches of snow in the morning lol. I've got all the supplies and ready to be snowed in. Because there is no way I will go out in this weather if I don't have to lol. I broke down and caved on my spending freeze already with the ACOT Black Friday sale. I'm so weak! Got some glitter nuvos and the Kaisercraft Wonderland collection, so nothing too crazy. I'm ready to try to scrap for a bit tomorrow. I was going to get the tree put up, and still may do that, but at the moment I'm more inclined to wait until next weekend. My gift shopping is nearly done and I had to LOL at your visa sobbing grammadee. Mine is too lol! Now to get started on the baking of the goodies. My Bob Evans dinner was a hit lol. I have a neighbor that lives down the hall from me that is single and didn't have a Thanksgiving dinner because he worked that day, so he got hooked up with two plates of the leftovers. DS 27 and I went out last night to see one of the many light displays around town. The traffic in to the park was soooo slow. Lots of people turning around and deciding not to continue. I haven't seen this particular one called Christmas in the Park, and I had to know one way or another if it was worth the wait or lame. Definitely worth the wait! I will be taking Rudy to see it as well. Christmas cards will be going out this week! I hope everyone is having the best weekend!

Don leaves for London at 2:30 am Sunday for the week so I'm hoping to get some cards made tomorrow and maybe a couple of layouts. Well that didn't happen. No crafty fun for me today. He said a few of the later flights were letting early flight people ahead of them in the TSA line. It was super long and delayed due to some sort of medical emergency (there was an ambulance). So Don was almost to the boarding gate when they closed the door and wouldn't let him on or the 20+ people behind him. Those earlier flights were still waiting on people. So he's home now. Sad for no craft time, veg time. Happy he's home. Have a great Sunday everyone!

nylene I am sorry to hear about your brother. I had fun at my weekend crop but started getting a cold while I was there. One morning I woke up with a sore throat and slightly achy muscles. I ate breakfast and told everyone I had to go back to bed for a bit. I took Advil and took a 1-2 hour nap and woke up feeling a little better. I still have fun even though I had a little snafu! I eventually lost my voice a few days later and still 2 weeks later, I am not back up to normal. I still don't have my voice all the way back and have a little cough. I think I am on the downhill side of being sick! I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I spent it with my work family. It was busy at work and had a full house. I remember the times when our census would go down and people would end up with a mandatory on the holidays. That hasn't been the case the last few years. I was sad I missed seeing my nieces while they were here. My sister told me today that Jasmine won't make it down for Christmas this year as she is on-call for her RA job with the college. 😢 I need to take photos of what I created while at my crop. I happened to have a few SG card kits with me and made 23 Christmas cards. I picked up another kit the other day and have 6 more to make. I am looking forward to getting cards out this year! I made a LO about Fall from an SG kit. I have a new love for VW vans. Our neighbor has one and it was parked underneath a beautiful fall tree and I got a photo of this. I was excited to scrap this. My neighbor has his VW van altered inside to use to relax in for fishing trips. My DH has gotten to see the inside but I haven't yet. I hope someday I can catch him to get a tour of his VW van! Tomorrow, I have a scrapbook meetup at the library. I plan to bring my Cameo and alter composition books for Christmas gifts. Tuesday, I am making DH and I a Thanksgiving meal for us to enjoy. He was disappointed we don't get to spend holidays all the time with family. He married a nurse and I can't always make that happen.
