Happy Monday! Hope you all had a nice holiday. Ours was quiet and we got a lot of rest especially my dh. I got my cards done and mailed. Now I gotta start on more cards for family and friends. Can you believe it is almost December and Christmas? Geez! THis year is going by so fast. knutschen - It is nice to see you are still scrapping and going to crops. What fun you had minus the cold. Hope you are feeling better. How are your new fur babies doing? I have been watching cat and dog funny videos on You Tube. I saw one where the smaller cat was sitting behind a larger cat and massaging its back. It was so funny and cute. The big cat was in heaven. LOL! LisaDV - OMG! Girl you are a truly brave woman. I would of freaked out. LOL! But with your dh working ya gotta do what ya gotta do. So cool. I know that will be a fun memory for you and the kids down the road. joyfulnana - What a game! I hope you did watch that game with the Chiefs and Rams last Monday. Yes, your QB is awesome and I like watching him play. He is electric. I hope he gets MVP. They said that game was the highest scoring game in history. Wow! nylene - How are you Honey? I hope you are getting some rest and having a little fun too. Sorry to hear about your db. Waving hello to grammadee , justjac , msliz , @elaynef , patin , woodysbetty justlisa7

Happy Wednesday, Pokeys! What are you up to today? Find any new scrappy treasures, woodysbetty ? Any more wildlife in your house, LisaDV ? Glad you checked in, knutschen . Hope you are over your cold. I have been taking a lot of Tylenol Sinus lately, but the only symptoms I have are blocked sinuses. Glad you are working away on your cards, kellyr21 . You make such beautiful ones. Any you would care to share here? How are your holiday preparations coming, msliz ? Having Hanakah so close to Thanksgiving must mean a lot of prep in a very short time? Hoping the doctors have figured out how to give you some relief, patin . You need energy for the rest of the NFL season! Haven't "seen" you around for a bit, justlisa7 . Hope all is well with you and your family. And nylene , I hope all is well with you and your dh as well. How is your vision coming along? I saw you made a huge stack of cards, so that is hopefully good news. I have been busy baking--and eating cookie dough! Need to ice the last of the baked cookies this evening, and have one more (no-bake) recipe I want to make, but need to pick up cashews before I can do those. Not sure if I will get anything else craftwise done this month. This morning I finished the 3 birthday cards I needed for December. And I am well over my goal of 30 pages for the month. Still have lots of photos to scrap, but I can do those later. I have two Christmas related jobs that need to be done first: * write and print my Christmas letter and get my family/friends Christmas cards ready to take to the post office. * put up the Christmas tree and do a little decorating of the house. I usually combine that job with a fairly thorough house cleaning, so that will take awhile. * wrap up and put into the mail the birthday gift for my dgs who turns 5 on the twelfth of December, and the Christmas gifts for my brothers' families. Maybe I should take some pic's of some of that activity for future Christmas scrapping? Dh has a followup appointment in the city on Friday. I was hoping we would go up the night before as we have in the past, but he is adamant that he wants to go up and back (a total of 5 hours of driving) the same day. My plan was to finish my Christmas shopping while we were up there, but now I have lost the one evening, leaving me with just the time he is at the clinic (about 3 hours from drop off to pick up). I will need a REALLY specific list, and will have to dispense with my usual plan of "walk around until something jumps out at me". I think I will have to do a bit of research on line before we go so that my shopping time will be very efficient.

Waving hi all... Actually got all of my scrap stuff staged in one room for packing...yikes!! grammadee I have discovered that I am addicted to adhesives...good grief two large tubs full of every type you can imagine...so full that my large tape runner and Xyron sticker makers have to be packed separately. Dh has been measuring and keeps finding just the right size box for each stage of my craziness...without a complaint or even a stern look. He just smiles and says there will always be space for your scrappy goodness - he is too funny!! House inspector came yesterday and the appraiser comes on Tuesday so everything is progressing toward that January 4th closing date...fingers crossed that nothing big comes up...

Happy Wednesday! It seems hard to believe that Thanksgiving was pretty much a week ago already. And Christmas is coming way too fast now. So much I want to do this season! My tree is usually up by now and I haven't even taken it out of storage yet. But the gifts are coming in via UPS and FedEx everyday lol. I have a couple I want to go out to grab but I'm pretty much done with shopping. knutschen your crop sounded like fun, it sucks that you weren't feeling well for a bit. And a meetup at the library sounds wonderful! I need to look into something like that here, or maybe look into starting one myself. VW vans are so cool! kellyr21 I got your card today, it's beautiful!! I forgot to watch the game and only remembered to check the score in the 4th quarter. Hard loss for the Chiefs, but omg what a score!! That's crazy! Congrats to the Rams on the win! I am going to see what this Mahomes kid is all about lol. msliz, I got your card too! It's soooo pretty!! I hope you are doing well nylene I hope things are going well for you as well! grammadee you accomplish so much! I am in awe of it! I hope you can find the perfect gifts to maximize your shorter time shopping. woodysbetty paper is definitely my obsession and how sweet of your DH to find you the perfect boxes for everything! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes according to plan! Waving hello to all the pokey's and hoping you are having a good week!

Hello girls! Sorry I have seriously been missing in action. Lots of family stuff and now have a cold/cough/chest congestion thing going on. ugh. We had a wonderful time in NC visiting our daughter. It was so nice. It is usually the time I do all my Christmas decorating so I am very behind. I have not scrapbooked at all, besides working a little on the pokey peas Christmas cards. msliz, your card is ready to be dropped at the post office today. It may be a day or two late for you, but hopefully not. Everyone elses will go out by the end of the week in one batch. I am so not a card maker or stamper. lol I don't think I will participate in any challenges next month as I did not complete any this month. I feel bad, but I honestly did not think it was going to be so crazy for me this month. I will be back in January to participate and I am also going to be on a 6 month scrapbook spending freeze from Dec 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019. Yikes! Going to finish projects and use up kits and supplies! nylene, I hope you and your husband are doing well! msliz - I received your beautiful card - thank you so much!!

Just a quick note to tell you what's going on. Wed. night at a meeting I tripped over the leg of a TV stand and tried to catch myself on my bad leg, which collapsed sending me backward. I landed on my back with both legs tucked up under my behind. That's a position my knees haven't seen in many years. I have definitely done some damage in one knee, the other seems to be improving. I was immediately put in knee immobilizers. So with both legs straight out in front of me, I couldn't even get around. I have graduated to a walker and have maneuvered a bit around the house. I will have an MRI on Wed. and will see the Ortho surgeon again on Friday.
Adding to this, my brother went downhill quickly and passed away on Mon. That's less than 3 weeks from "feeling not the best" to finding the cancer diagnosis and being gone. I'm glad he didn't linger for months.
I apologize for not getting on the threads. I haven't been in my computer room until today. I will start the new thread tomorrow or Sunday.

I will keep you in my prayers that your knees will heal perfectly and quickly.

Oh nylene! I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother. And your knees! I hope the MRI shows minimal damage. Please don't apologize for not being around here enough, in just the short time I've been part of the pokey's, you have had soooo much going on, my heart just aches for you. Take of your of yourself. Hi justlisa7! You have had a busy couple months too! I hope you are feeling top notch soon. I bought my cards, because I'm not a card maker, and with every card I see I get more inspired and really wish I had given making the pokey cards a go. Next year for sure! I'm right there with you on that spending freeze lol. There aren't going to be any challenges for December, not team ones anyway, but grammadee is going to be doing some 12 Days of Christmas prompts. I didn't get any scrapping done either this month, and will be taking a scrapping break this month as well I'm sure. I'm always so excited for January when life goes back to normal and I'm always raring to go with my scrapping. Doing JYC this year but not sure how much of that will actually get done this month. Although the tree is up, and the shopping in pretty well done for the most part. Which means I will time for more baking and jerky making. I usually make a couple batches of jerky for each of the boys for Christmas. And it's so easy to make I ask every year why I don't make it more often, but now it's become a holiday tradition they have come to expect. I hope everyone is doing well! Waving hi to all the pokey's!

A quick ending is often the least painful way for the person we lose, but it is really a shock to everyone else. You had mentioned there had been some estrangement with some family members: I hope his passing does not bring out too much drama. And your poor knees! My goodness you two have had a rough autumn! I am glad you can maneuver yourself around somewhat, and hope that the mobility increases. This is not the time of year to be sidelined! (I know: it was two years ago today that I broke my arm!)

nylene- Bless your heart. I read your update with various sighs, "ow-s" & sadness for you. I am so sorry about your brother. I am sure you are reeling first with the initial shock of his diagnosis & then his sudden passing. I am so sorry. I pray that healing & peace will flood your family. Your knee situation sounds so painful. What a trooper you are! Hope that the damage is not severe & that sur br er can be avoided. A quick hello & shout out to everyone! I got most of your cards out & will finish this weekend.
