I just had to share a positive customer service experience that I had recently with Fiskars. The wire guide on my paper trimmer frayed so much that the blade couldn't cut cleanly. I noticed that Fiskars claims that most of its products have a lifetime warranty so I poked around on their website. They had a very simple online process for submitting a claim. I just had to include a picture of the product. I had a response within 24 hours and a replacement guide wire at my door in a few days. It's a good reminder that if your Fiskars products break check to see if they are eligible for a replacement/repair.

Same thing happened to my trimmer. It seems to be a common problem, according to an old 2Peas thread. In any case Fiskars CS was great. In my case I filled out the online info and includes a picture but they didn't get back to me. I ended up calling them and they were very nice and apologetic. The women I talked to looked up my claim, said she was sorry it got missed, and sent my replacement wire right out.

That's good to hear! I didn't even try. I made my own new guide wire from jewelry wire and a crimp bead it works fine, but next time I'll know to contact the!

The same thing happened to my friend. They replaced the arm of her trimmer and sent her replacement blades.

This is nice to hear. I had the exact opposite experience with them. I think the person who tried to help me must have been new and probably isn't still there. She was so much less than helpful and seemed inconvenienced by my call. I didn't get any help at all and ended up buying a Westcott trimmer. I have Fiskars scissors that I have had for years. I have always loved Fiskars!!! I guess I just got a bad egg!

Yes, I got a free replacement for my wire guide too, thanks to someone who posted on the old Two Peas board. Really impressed with their customer service!

How easy is to replace the wire? Having a problem like this, in your opinion, makes you to think of a brand or model replacement?
I have an AC that I really don't like much and I always liked the Fiskars. I read about the wire problem and some people complaining about the blades not cutting strait on the ones without the wire. So I waited. Since this topic is opened, if you girls can give me your opinion , it would be great. Its so much nicer to hear from people that have something in common with us. Thanks

I've been using the trimmer with the wire for years. Probably about 5 years now. I replace it every year because I think the plastic track gets worn and then it cuts wonky. I give the old trimmer to a friend or DD, and I keep one by the printer for trimming coupons. I think I've had 5-6 trimmers and only had the wire break on one. I was cutting fast and knew the wire was caught in the cut, but it was too late to stop. Other than that, I think they are the best trimmers ever. I don't want a big, bulky guillotine or rotary trimmer and this one fits my scrapping style perfectly.

It is nice to hear that excellent customer service is available when we so often hear just the opposite.
