First and foremost two of our tribe members need our good wishes:
I want to wish our weekend leader, leannec the best first day of work ever. May you find that it's not as daunting as you'd thought and may your colleagues be kind and understanding. You can do this, Leanne and we'll be here to cheer you on and hug you if it's too much.
Also, let's send fluffy, gentle arrows to desertgirl that her colonoscopy goes well w/normal results and that she feels good after the procedure.
Now for dinner, I have a couple of ideas, either sheet pan dinner or chicken florentine. Last night both dh and ds wanted pizza and ds picked it up. I'm always happy to oblige when it's that easy.
Wishing everyone a fulfilling day w/some smiles thrown in just for fun.

It will be another day of staying inside except for a trip to Raley's and the gym. I might make a pot of gumbo for dinner with leftovers frozen for dinner next week while DS is here. Good thoughts going to leannec and desertgirl.

We ended up with pizza last night, too.
Either a sheet pan dinner here or rechauffe.
Good thoughts to our tribe!

Good luck today leannec hope all goes smooth, you will do great! desertgirl hoping for a clean and clear scope for you today. 💩💩💩 #prayforpoopshoot Tonight is honey mustard pork chops and mushrooms. I saw this awesome wheel of brie at my grocery store and need to do something with it. So as a side to dinner also making brie covered with a maple pumpkin butter and chopped pecans wrapped in puff pastry and baked. It's always one of my favorite apps.

I have a package of ground beef and no tae kwon do to get in the way. Will decide later what to turn that ground beef into. Maybe spaghetti. Missed posting the last couple of days because I’ve been so busy, but also because the 9yo has minimum days all week, gets home and wants my iPad. Yesterday I doctored up a Knorrs cheesy broccoli rice packet with lots of actual broccoli and cheese, and the boys thought it was the best thing ever. Served with Costco chicken. Dinner should be this easy every night. Can’t even remember the night before. Feel better, christine58, and good thoughts to leannec and desertgirl.

I have a dependency court hearing this afternoon which means looking professional, wearing make-up and possibly getting stuck in the afternoon rush hour traffic. Which means dinner will be super easy Costco Chicken Tortilla soup. Please don't bother trying the Butternut Squash Pasta I linked yesterday. Four out of four family members decided it was awful.

Still have lots of stuff that could be turned into rechauffe!
Maybe hot turkey gravy sandwiches? Chicken fried rice? Pastrami sandwiches?

Thank you all for the blessings. I was unable to get to the surgery center due to ice on the roads. Schools are closed and we live in a mountainous area. So I will hold onto my tribal good wishes until I have to eat Jello and broth all day again. My arrows today are disappointed 😔 but dd is coming over with pizza and that will make the day special. Now I need to sanitize my bathroom 🚽 😳😳😳!!! This was my 4th procedure and the prep wore me out. I am 67 and I felt every day of that yesterday! I am anxious to hear from our beloved leannec later today. I was a middle school teacher, too, and know the challenges can be draining. Arrows of support and love to her! Thanks for the thread.

The ‘Great European Adventure - part 2‘ is drawing to a close. We had yesterday afternoon and all day today in Dresden, which is just one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, with such a tragic history. Yesterday, we walked around, took loads of pictures and had dinner at a Swiss restaurant. Today, we have visited a couple of museums - the ‚Old Green Vault‘ which is the old palace treasury and the ‚Porcelain Collection‘ which is the most amazing collection of Asian and Meissen porcelain. We also visited the Dresden Carhedral and the wonderfullly restored Frauenkirche, which was neary totally destroye by allied air raids in February 1945. Tonight, we are eating in our apartment - ravioli with tomato and eggplant sauce.

PolarGreen12......I'm sure your POOP SHOOT comment made our dear desert girl giggle Annnd, your brie/ pumpkin/ puff pastry thAng sounds sooo yummy! leannec.....Before I came here to post, I said a prayer for ya!!! Ohhh, I hope you have GREAT news for us! But even IF your day was bad, we are here to give (( hugs )) and support!!! desertgirl......Oh woowwwww, I would be sooo NOT happy after allllll you went through with the prep! I'm sending you many ARROWS of (( hugs )), annnd, if I lived nearby AND had a spaceship** to fly to your house (to avoid the scary, icy roads!), I'd also bring you GATORADE (obviously after the prep, you're depleted of many electrolytes, etc!), annnd some of my chicken tortilla soup that simmers for hourrrrs, and DH could probably LIVE on it My bestie is younger and healthier than me, AND she is NOT a complainer at all----but her recent colonscopy prep also WORE HER OUT and she also didn't love how much it interrupted her sleep! But... BUTT.....she tried to look at the positive side and just ended up taking her phone into the potty with her to play games so she could STOP THINKING ABOUT how miserable she was! Did you get ANY sleep? I used to have to go once/year, (cuz of history of diverticulosis and surgery) but now I'm at every three years. DH doesn't have to go for TEN years.....heyyyy, no fair! **Every time I wish I could see someone(s) in my family, I post a pik of the Jetson's cool space ship and we talk about how with ALLLL the amazing technology we already have, why don't we have these yet? One of our nieces always sees my SNOW piks on facebook and asks my s-i-law whennnn they can come and visit us when it snows. We had a BEAUTIFUL snow storm the other day, annnnd, they're 8 hours away by car, annnnd, she had school the next day, etc. Once again, we discussed needing a Jetsons-esque space ship! Not just to get here VERY FAST, but just think.....no scary sliding off the highway from the ice! (been there, done THAT!) I saw this in "People" magazine and HAVE to make it !!! DH refuses to grill when it's cold, but I have NO problem putting on my coat and thick gloves to go outside and grill, because for me---the FLAVOR from the charcoal and wood is SOOO much better! I refuse to cook steaks in a pan /oven...for me, it's NOT worth it and has so little flavor, even though I've tried " drowning" steaks in yummy marinades and cooking them indoors....nope!!! Not even close to grilling! I also don't mind being outside when it's cold anyway. I LOVE Fall and Winter !! I bundle up and sit outside with a big ole' mug of coffee, look at the beauuuutiful fall colors and/ or the beauuutiful snow we got the other day. And it's even MORE fun to sit out there when the doggies are outside playing! Oh, how I HATE summertime, when we get attacked by mosquitoes, the doggies are tooo high risk for heat stroke, annnnd, do NOT get me started on how MAD I get when a disgusting FLY lands on my coffee mug !!!!!!!!!

I just can't be inside and NOT enjoy these free gifts from God !! The other day when it was about 23 degrees, I wore TWO pair of cozy, soft fleece jammie pants and TWO pair of socks with slippers, and I was happy as a clam !!! (anddd.....NO miserable heat, FREAKING FLIES on my coffee cup and NO itchy, horrrrrible mosquito bites like in the unberable summer time!!) I'm the only person I've ever met who gets MORE energy and happiness in the COLD months, and UNLESS I'm in a pool, lake, river, or ocean, I realllly loathe summer with the heat of a million suns, and I stay inside A LOT! Talk about a GIFT----You can still see the beautiful FALL foliage, AND snow...!!! My two favorite things! (wellllll, but that little "critter" (and his sister!) are the BEST gift s of all, obvi !! I was totes obsessed with how beautiful the sun looked, shining through the icicles! I need to go run a million errands, including getting all the ingredients to make that steak recipe. That's ONE MORE thing I absolutely LOVE about this time of year......NOT having to bring my cooler and frozen ice packs when I grocery shop !!! Now I have "God's cooler" and don't have to worry about frozen/ refrigerated items and leftovers from restaurants perishing in the heat of the car. The rare times I forget the cooler or ice blocks, the summer heat also prevents me from making spontaneous stops on the way home. I'm also happy for DH to get a break from having to lift and carry 85-pound Meaty and 53-pound Sophie from the car into their vet appointments because the asphalt and/or gravel in the vets' parking lots could burn their paws !!!

desertgirl, I don't know if it's a plus or a minus that your colonoscopy got cancelled. But pizza will make up for that. leannec, good vibes, good vibes...I understand if you're just too whipped today to check in, but I hope you see all the good wishes here. cadoodlebug, I am still waiting for that gumbo recipe...tick tock... psiluvu I would like the orange chicken recipe too, pretty please. Tonight I'm going with the girlfriends to the Potter's Guild semi annual sale. Hold me back, I love their beautiful creations. I cannot wait to see what they have. Afterward, we will drop by one of my favorite cafes that has wonderful cocktails. There is a dark and stormy in my future. Please say a prayer I don't spend much money.

Mississippi pot roast, except I'm using a pork roast since that's what I have. Roasted zucchini, button mushrooms, celery, onion, baby carrots and baby yukon gold potatoes. I made a Texas sheet cake last night.

I’m in a car on my way to Vermont. With the traffic we’re encountering it may be midnight before we arrive. Our plan is to eat when we get where we’re going but I have no idea what it will be.

It's a raw, windy 37 degrees here today. But wait, this is Georgia so it will be in the upper 60s by Monday. I'll have potato soup and crackers tonight. DH is likely headed out to the pub for his poker night.
My surgery isn't till 2:30 pm tomorrow, but I'm still not permitted food or drink after midnight. I'll be a thirsty, grouchy girl by then. Oh well.
