An employee and a customer were having a conversation and the customer said "Oh, is that like a Cricut?" The employee replied "Cricut? I don't know what that is."

That's nothing. My teenaged clerk at the grocery store tonight asked me if Thanksgiving was on Thursday this year. Biting my tongue and not correcting her, I politely told her yes, and she said, "yeah, I thought it was on a wierd day this time."

Oh dear... Temporary seasonal employee, I hope... But I once went to a LSS and got a blank look when I asked about Shimelle products, so I clarified by saying she was part of the American Crafts brand, and still -nothing- 0_0 !!

Oh, that drives me crazy! I used to work craft retail and I'd always have to bite my tongue when customers came in asking for a Circut.

A few years ago my mom asked my dad for a Xyron sticker maker for Christmas. My dad and sister went to Michael's and asked for a "Ky-ron". No one knew what they were talking about, of course! I had to explain to them how to pronounce the darn name!

I've heard people say Cry-cut That's me ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/blush.jpg.gif) I know it is pronounced like the bug, but somehow my brain cemented it as the other so I have to overthink the name everytime I pronounce it! Even reading the the thread, my brain was hearing "cry-cut cry-cut cry-cut"... I've noticed that LSS's get hung up on whatever "celebrity" teacher they know, but then don't know others who are probably bigger in the industry. There should be a cheat sheet for LSSs of names and brands in the industry!

I can remember explaining Project Life to employees and customers at Archiver’s when the their exclusive core kit released back in 2012? A customer should never have explain the entire new realease in your store to employees. It took up the whole front section of the store and nobody seemed curious until I started talking about the concept.

Actually, I find Cricut to be a horrible name. After decades, my mind still says it as Cry Cut. And I’ve had two of them. No more...Gemini is my new go to favorite. I just wish there were LSS’s around to hear things like that these days.

I just wish there were LSS’s around to hear things like that these days. Me too. I hate weird cutesy spellings and it's always Cry-cut in my head. Luckily the only person I know who owns one is my sister and she hasn't scrapped since about 2006... Silhouette is much easier to say correctly

When the Cricut first came out I called it a Circut too, lol. My DH was the one who pointed out that it was called Cricut because it had a Cricket on it. I always love when everyone calls the Crop-A-Dile the Crocadile. I don't know why but that makes me laugh so hard. Not making fun I think it's so cute when you all do that.
