I bought a couple of used PTI stamp sets and they are stored in CD cases. Is there a way to removed the stickers from the CD cases so that I know what the stamps are? And what can I store the stamps on instead? I prefer to keep my stamps in the Avery Elle type of envelopes.

Hmm, you could try to remove the stickers and see what happens. Maybe take a picture of the CD case against white paper first so you could print the picture if needed? If you are going to take it off the case, try heating up the sticker with a heat gun lightly, which will make it easier to remove. Alternately, you can order replacement stickers from PTI for $1 usually. As far as storage of the stamps go, I believe DuraLar is what most people use. It won't eat away at your stamps. That's what I use for my PTI stamps. |

I actually removed a bunch of PTI stickers from CD cases. It was a messy process but I peeled them off and reattached them to heavy weight sheets of Dura Lar that I got from Amazon. It’s like a transparency sheet that doesn’t have chemicals that interact with the stamps. The stamps stick to the sheet. Then I placed these cut to fit sheets with stamps attached in Avery Elle plastic pockets along with a piece of heavy cardstock to keep it stable. I keep the pockets upright in refrigerator bins on shelves. Takes up less room than the CD’s. I did it because I heard a rumor that the plastic in the CD cases would cause softening of the stamps. Not sure if that’s true but that’s why I did it.

Worst case you could go on PTI site and find the set and print if the photo didn't work well

Like riley I switched storing PTI sets from CDs to stamp storage pockets and peeled off a heap of stickers and reused them on Duralar. I had to buy a few that ripped but the vast majority of them came off fine. |

Looks like I need to buy some Duralar. Any suggestions as to which weight? wendifful linked to the .005, which I assume is the thicker, yes? |
