This is a challenge in the memory of our 2Peas friend, donna . She passed away on July 5th 2018 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. It will be a monthly challenge. Before Donna died she really wanted to get the albums she was making for her boys, finished. The Peas were amazing and created over 200 photoless LOs to send to Donna so she could add her photos and achieve this goal. She had stories to tell and wanted to get them told. So in Donna's memory I think we should all scrap our own important stories. You'll know when you've done one of those special LOs, one of those ones you've been procrastinating about but it's a story or photo you really wanted to get in an album. You'll know when it's a Donna worthy LO because it's something personal to you. It would be great if you share it here or just let us know you've done something you think is Donna worthy. And because donna was a chemistry teacher, I'm throwing in an equation each month as an extra challenge. So this months equation is: create a LO without using tools! So no trimmer, scissors or craft knife to cut your paper, no punches, no stencils. no stamps, no paintbrush. If it's a tool, don't use it. Things that are ok are things like mists already in a spray bottle, washi tape but it must be ripped and not cut, ink pads are ok to use but only on their own. Any questions just ask but if it's a tool, don't use it! Lets get properly creative here! grammadee for the challenge list

I was just coming back to edit and say I think digi-scrappers are out of this one sorry, I reckon a computer is a tool for sure!

Cute! I've never been described as cute. You think I look like my avatar don't you? I keep thinking I'll paint a background and then I'm like oh, a paintbrush is a tool. Well I'll wet emboss a background, um, stencil, no, damn! I'm thinking I'll be fingerpainting?

Be prepared for lots of torn edges inked right from the ink pad from me! kiwigirl--Is a PEN a tool? I usually handwrite my journaling, but have a gazillion letter and tiny word stickers, so if you FORCE me to, I could [maybe] do my journaling with those...

I am a bit unsure over a pen. Part of me thinks it's a tool but then the other part of me thinks, if you want to add journalling with a pen then go ahead. I'd hate someone to create a LO that they don't like for this challenge if you know what I mean? I mean, it's meant to be fun and we create LO's we like at the end of the day and I'd much rather have people making a LO that they like at the end of the day, than one they hate and put in the bin. So I think, take things as literally as you like to make a LO that you love and if you want to use a pen then that's cool. I'm not gonna call anyone out for using a tool cause man, it's probably going to be really hard to stick to! I hope that waffling makes sense!

Here's my first attempt at this no tool challenge. I am a bit unsure though, I've used scraps from my scraps tray so they were cut with tools at some stage but not for this LO. I wanted to use purple magic mesh but then I realised I'd have to cut that, but I had that bit of grey sitting there so it got used instead. So I don't know if I've done this challenge or not. Are scraps ok? What does everyone else reckon?

Thank you grammadee! Thank you for your opinion on scraps too. I do think they're cool to use cause they're getting used and that is good! I do plan to try this again and not use scraps though too

ok here's mine finally. i did both the donna challenge and the no tools equation. journaling is on the back and talks about the relationship between my mom and her cousin. no tools used; i used sequin waste as a "stencil" and an offcut of ribbon plus a 6x6 paper. please ignore the HORRIBLE nuvo border. i was ready to throw them all in the trash for behaving badly. also i apologize for the glare on the flair badge; that's what i get for taking photos at night. beautiful ordinary life by sadkid, on Flickr

Oh wow stinkerbelle, so lush! I love the Nuvo border, it adds character and it definitely doesn't look terrible. I love alllllll the stuff! The thread is awesome with the mist through the sequin waste and the doily, all lush! Great photo too and the frame around the faces is fab! Great work

I did not completely succeed in this challenge, but hoping this is close enough. Watching my dgk's play hockey is a Donna worthy experience for me. I love watching them play, and watching them reminds me of when I watched their parents play. I take lots of hockey game photos (although most of them are crappy due to my lack of skill, unwillingness to change lenses for specific photo sessions, and just the dynamics of taking photos in an arena through smudged glass or netting). But I don't want my albums to be overwhelmed with hockey pages, so I try to find the STORY behind a set of photos before I scrap it. This page has a story b/c my dgs had been sidelined for a couple of weeks due to an injury but was cleared to play for the game that took place close to where WE live (5 hours from his home). I thought I had nailed the "no tools" rule, and was all ready to take it to the next level by doing my journaling completely with stickers. Then I realized that I had already cut one photo down to size while I was figuring out how to fit them on the page. Being basically pretty LAZY, I decided to use my pen for the journaling. 5 is back by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Here is the facing page. Did better on the no tools thing here (just glued one photo over top of the other one rather than trimming). But did I tell you I was lazy? Decided to just use my pen again to write the journaling. 5 is back fans by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Okay, I tried this again, and failed AGAIN! I forgot until I took the photo that I used scissors to cut the washi tape. kiwigirl we really need to add this no tool challenge to one of the team challenge months in the future. One of these times I will get it right! Foot Art by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Way to go grammadee! It's a hard challenge for sure. On my LO I actually had purple Magic Mesh out to use and then I was like oh, I can't cut this..... I can't rip it..... damn! I found a scrap of the silver which wasn't really the size I wanted, I wanted it longer but I used that instead. Love the ice paper on the hockey page and those chevron arrows are awesome! I love the simplicity of the black page too, way to go sticking one photo on top of another! I love all the washi tape on the foot art page too, very cool and I love that you have the art on there, great title work too! I will definitely post this as a team challenge sometime, I reckon it deserves a few more points too for being so freaking hard!
