grammadee - update on Calvinball, it will be on Facebook. Then I guess I am out. If I have avoided fb for this long, I see no reason to sign up now... But you need to check out the Team Challenges we have been hosting here. We have been accused of having too many challenges, too many ways to earn points, "too much like Calvinball" LOL. So if you love Calvinball, come on in and play in January. Basically, you sign up for a team before the beginning of a month, and then you jump in and pose challenges when the month starts. All month we create stuff to earn points for our team. Check out the November Team Challenge Rules stickied in the Challenge thread. The printable challenge list for November is stickied in Challenges as well. We took December off. stinkerbelle will be looking for sign ups for January in a week or two.

justjac your tree is beautiful! Thanks for posting it! Well the Bass Pro see Santa was an epic fail. Rudy hasn't been to see Santa yet this year and his mom was taking him today I believe. Anyway he wanted to do that with her, and I totally understand that. We still went and had a look at all the fish and water displays there and some other shopping errands. He was more thrilled about not having to go to preschool than anything lol. We still had a good day together! The rest of the weekend has been spent recovering from that little ball of energy - man he can wear me out lol - getting cookies baked, candy made, just have a batch of fudge left which I will do tomorrow. Then finish the wrapping. I have had no kind of scrappy mojo at all. Then realized I'm pouring it all into Christmas lol. I'm also 3 or 4 days behind on my JYC prompts so I will try to catch those up this evening. I can't believe it's almost here already! I will try to get a picture of the stockings posted in the next day or so. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Good Morning everyone. I thought I would share some of the "Stamps" and ATC's I have been creating. These have really been my only creative outlet during the hectic days of Summer/Fall I had this year. Then along came the Christmas season and with Holiday Hame as many of you know EVERYTHING not Christmas gets put away so I have little access to my supplies. These little items work out really well for getting my crafting on in a very limited time. Also uses up all of my scraps (since I can't bare to purse this has also become a good way to purge my items). These items get traded with others in some Facebook groups I belong to. Have a wonderful day today.

Happy Monday Peas!!!! I hope you all had a nice weekend. I worked on a new art piece for my in-laws for Christmas. It turned out good. I will post pictures this week. I was thinking about enlarging and framing the art for them and my bil's family. Also, I have some more cards to make for my dh's job and these little candy bags for his coworkers. So a busy crafty week for me. @elaynef- Oh, I hope you had a great birthday. It was so nice to see all the cards and love you received. nylene- So happy to see you are on the mend. Take in easy and I am cheering for you. maribeth- WELCOME BACK FRIEND! It is good to see ya. Yeah, we lost our dear Cindy but we are still going strong on her behalf. What a tough job situation you had. Hope the new year brings better days. Waving howdy to you all and have a good almost Christmas week.

Love your exchange cards, maribeth . Hope you get a chance to share photos of your Christmas house. We have had an eventful few days. Saturday, we hosted justjac and her hubby for supper, and Jac and I exchanged cards and gifts. And Dean installed our new range hood! I always said I wanted to adopt those two! but it was all downhill from there! That evening we discovered a sewer backup. We were able to contact the guy that services septic systems and he agreed to come in the morning. So, little to no water use for the night. Which would have been okay, except that I was struck with one of “my” gastro attacks. Sunday morning dh took me in to the hospital, where they treated me—as usual—with complete “bowel rest”, gravel, and morphine. I was admitted to hospital Sunday morning and released today. Meanwhile, dh had to return home and deal with the septic guy. That still didn’t solve the problem completely, so he had to call in a plumber to snake the line from the house to the tank. In the end, the problem was fixed to the tune of $500+. last night dh started feeling under the weather with stomach flu symptoms, so when I was released from hospital I had to call his sister to drive me home about noon. He hadn’t taken anything by mouth since last night, so I have been making ice to put in Pedialyte, and getting him to drink that. Also made some Jello. Hoping he will start feeling better soon. I still I’ll have to deal with the utility room floor. Thank God it is concrete. But I will do that tomorrow. Attachments:

maribeth those ATC's are beautiful! I'm definitely not an artist, and couldn't make anything like that. They are just lovely! grammadee what a crappy end to what was going to be a great weekend! Love that photo of you and justjac ! I hope you are feeling better and your DH too. kellyr21 I hope you post photos of your craftyness, I love seeing others projects! I've always been a crafter, but scrapping took over lol. But I already have ideas for things I want to make for next Christmas - besides the stocking lol. Christmas will be over for me on Monday morning and I have to say, I'm ready. Friday I will drive up to see my mom and my niece is coming to visit her as well, so I can see her new baby girl. Then to have dinner with my youngest DS and his GF and exhange gifts. The 24th will be Christmas morning with my oldest DS and DGS, then they will leave to have Christmas with the other side of the family. I took Wednesday off too thinking I would have a day of peace and quiet but that's not meant to be lol. DSG will be here for most of the week. He will wear me out but it will be fun lol. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

joyfulnana, those stockings are wonderful. What a blessing they are to family. They will be filled with years of memories. It sounds like you have a very busy Christmas season. I hope you all have a wonderful time together. How sweet to get to see a new baby. I really miss babies in our family. kellyr21, I want to see a photo of your newest art work. Everything you do is so beautiful. I hope you get everything finished that you are doing for Christmas. grammadee, I am so sorry to hear of your hospitalization and sickness all around at your house. I am sending prayers for healing blessings for both of you. The photo of you and justjac is so sweet. How I wish we all lived close enough to get together! maribeth, It is so great to "see" your profile photo popping up. Thanks for dropping by. I hope you will do it as time allows. I'm like grammadee, I have resisted Facebook all this time and just can't make myself get involved. I would love to see some of your Christmas decorations too. DH and I have had colds and we run out of steam too early in the evenings! Every day I vow I will get to the computer before I flop into bed, and every day I run out of time. Angie's DH got word that his 93 year old grandmother passed away. She lived with them for many years and was a friend to all the grands, great-grands, etc. They are making a quick trip home tomorrow for the funeral and will only stay until the 26th. It will be nice to have them around, though for a sad occasion. I hope you each have wonderful, though busy days as you prepare for Christmas. Hugs to everyone.

Good Morning Here is another fun thing I participate in a FaceBook group Koala T Crrafts. Each month someone will host the Envelope Challenge where they send out the same scraps/items to 13 ladies who sign up. You must create a card using at least some part of all the items sent and you can add only three of your own items. Here are my first two creations for that challenge.
grammadee and justjac - love the photo of the two of you, so festive. grammadee - so sorry for your illness, glad you are out of hospital and feeling better joyfulnana - love the stockings, and I am not an artist at all, that is why I love the little ATC's and Stamps I do in my groups, it lets me try to be a little arty. kellyr21 - Yes please post some of your work (as joyfulnana requested) I love seeing your fine art pieces. I will attempt at taking photos of Holiday Home, but it is always so difficult for me to photo Christmas decor. Have a wonderful day and do something special just for you.

Happy Saturday!I hope you are are doing well especially grammadee and nylene. I walked up to the farmer's market this morning. I was so proud because it is a little far up the street. But I made good time and had fun. I was just a little tired when I got back but it was worth it. Are you all ready for Christmas? We have been slowly getting there but hope to enjoy ourselves between now and then. I did make 30 plus candy bags for Ron's job as well as some cards. We sold out on the cards and I was sooo happy. I have a few more cards to make for my personal use and then I am done, I think?! LOL! Here is the art I made for my dh's family. Family Giftjoyfulnana- WOW! Those stockings look great! maribeth- Your cards look so pretty. Great job!

Thanks guys! The stockings were definitely a labor of love. And much frustration with DGS's since I think I ripped it out and started over at least three times lol. It had been 26 years since I knitted the last one, and I was rusty. But I did enjoy it, and I do miss my other crafts at times. I will be trying to make room for all of the things this coming year lol. The visit with my mom and my niece was so fun! One of my sisters and her family came by as well and it was so good to see her. We haven't had a true family gathering in a few years, since mom isn't up to it anymore. So mom and I have determined we will find a way to make that happen next year. And it was so nice to spend some quality time with my youngest. We had dinner and spent time at his place just hanging out and exchanging gifts. Tomorrow with be Christmas for DGS here. I love it that my son and his ex split the holidays this was. He takes Christmas Eve morning and she takes the actual Christmas morning. At some point when I was younger, my family started celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve evening after my Dad got home from work. And we did that for many years, so it feels right to celebrate on Christmas Eve for me. I'm still behind on the journaling for my December album and hope to start catching that up and putting the album together while I'm off work the next few days. I'm ready to get back to scrapping and ready for the monthly challenges to start again. maribeth those cards are beautiful! You are very creative! kellyr21 that's so great that your cards sold out! And a walk to the farmers market sounds fun! I often wish I lived in a walking city. Downtown KC is like that if you live in that area, but trying to find parking is hard, so I don't get down there often. nylene I say that same thing about getting on here before bed and it never happens, and I can't even say it's because I'm sick lol. I hope you are both feeling better and I'm glad you will see Angie over the holiday, I'm sorry it's for sad occasion. grammadee I hope you are feeling better and things are settling down at your house! Wishing all the Pokey's a Happy Holiday and peaceful prosperous New year!!!

Good Sunday morning, Pokeys. Thanks for your well wishes. "All is well" here (plumbing both human and mechanical), but I am a week behind where I expected to be by today. Finally met up with my sister in law for supper and gift exchange yesterday at her home (instead of last Sunday here), and we will be having tea this afternoon with the neighbour couple that we had also invited for supper last Sunday. No worries about cooking for a crowd: there will be no one but dh and me here for the next few days. We are going to his sister's for Christmas Eve and her daughter's for Christmas Day. I need only make a couple of family favorites and one of those I make once I am at my sil's. And I can take a tray of baking to each b/c I did that in November as if I had a full work schedule like in the olden days. My goal for today--other than venture down the road for tea--is to finish wrapping!!! Still have gifts to wrap for the two families in the Calgary area (about half done). And all the gifts for dh's sister and her family. I also need to make room in the back of my suv so that I can quickly load the Calgary gifts Wednesday morning. Condolences to your dd, nylene and to the rest of the family on the loss of another loved one. I am sure it will be comforting for their family to be with you for Christmas, even if the visit is short. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend Christmas, joyfulnana . If you visit each family in a rotation you can actually visit with each of them and enjoy every moment. Love the socks! Maybe now that you got back into it with your dgs's sock and get some more practice redoing your own sock, you can set up as a business and we can call in orders for our own dgk's! I was able to snag up one of justjac 's items for their fundraising sale--a set of Christmas ceramic coasters she had beautified with alcohol inks--as a Christmas gift for someone this year. Your cards are lovely, maribeth . Still waiting for pic's of your Christmas house. Walking to a farmers' market sounds like a lovely way to spend a day this time of year, kellyr21 , but I would need to be a LOT closer to town, and live a LOT further south for that to happen ! One of my sisters in law has flown to San Diego with her whole family (two daughters, a son with his wife & two teens) to spend Christmas with her other son and his family, who have a brand new baby. That will be a culture shock (or at least a climate shock) for my brother's family who have traditionally spent this holiday at the parents'/grandparents' home and spent a lot of time toboganning and ice skating and doing other outdoor activities in the snow! If the weather gods allow, I will be driving to see the kids and grandkids on Wednesday. (Hence the need to have room to pack the gifts for 11 people into my vehicle) I had planned to go Thursday or Friday, and come home Monday, but my ddil convinced me to come earlier and stay later so I can see all the kids and take part in or see all the activities. I think this will be the first time in a very long time I have even left the house on Boxing Day, and I will be driving for 5-6 hours! But it ends with supper with the kids followed by Games Night, so it's all worth it! Dh intends to stay here on the farm. He hates leaving the house unattended in winter, even with someone coming in to check on place and pets a couple of times a day. Our ddil suggested I "load up Grampa and Snoopy and just start driving", but I think that would be a trip too memorable even for a scrapbooker! I may pop in later, but if I get buried under an avalanche of giftwrap and tags, I will take this opportunity to wish all of you Pokeys a wonderful holiday season, however you choose to spend it. I am cherishing all the cards I have received from you and the sweet notes inside them. We are truly blessed to have found each other.

My DH & I just celebrated Christmas "Adam" as we call it . We had a lovely dinner of steak & shrimp, followed by our presents to each other my DH reading the Christmas story from Luke. I now feel warm, peaceful & thankful & ready to drive to spend Christmas Eve & Day with all of our kids & grandkids. Merry Christmas all my Pokeys!

I have been getting over a cold and just being busy. My cold lingered for 5 weeks. I am glad to finally have my voice back. DH is coughing now but he tells me he isn't sick. LOL!
I wanted to get on here and wish everyone a Merry Christmas! 🎄 I might be up all night because I need to finish my altered composition books for Christmas. I have them designed with my Cameo software and saved in individual files. DH said he would help me but I am not sure how much help he will be!
I am sad that my youngest niece, Jasmine, won't be able to make it down for Christmas. She is an RA for her dorm and is on-call this year. She will be here later in the week. I am looking forward to us all being together after Christmas. I am working Christmas Eve and get off work Christmas morning. I will go to my parents on Christmas evening after I have gotten some sleep.
I am at the coffee shop for a bit and may need a short nap before working on my composition books.

Good morning Pokeys! I haven't posted on here in a long time, but was checking in on my sweet friend Nylene, so I thought I'd say "hi!". I haven't scrapped since September, my job is crazy during the 3rd quarter of the year, so I'm glad to have all of that done. I'm the CEO of a nonprofit that serves kids, so at least the craziness is worth it, we get to take care of a lot of kiddos. I'm off work from now until January 8th, so I'm super excited about that. We are flying to Orlando next week to go to a wedding and are going to Universal Studios while we are there. For those of you that don't know me, I'm Tina. I was a die-hard on 2 Peas for a decade. Nylene and I met on the Pokey Peas thread there and I got to meet her IRL at Scrapfest one year. (She is every bit as sweet in person as she seems). I have 3 kids that are 15, 20 and 25 (Griffin, Mallory and Olivia). I've been married to Ron, who is one of the kindest people I know, for 26 years. It's been fun reading about the various Christmas traditions that you all talked about. We have one kind of corny one that we do every year. We address the Christmas gifts for the immediate family creatively...no real names allowed. We make up funny names based on what is in the package, fun stuff about that person, etc. We had gifts to "strong, independent woman from Queena", "to Batman from Poison Ivy", "to kickboxing diva from the boxer in the family", etc. Since our family is full of creative people, some of them end up being pretty far out there, but it's fun. I hope that you all have a wonderful day! Tina

Hi Tina! Glad you had a chance to stop in! Your gift tag tradition sounds like a hoot! Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a wonderful break and a great trip to Orlando.
I need to get moving soon. Need to pack my suitcase, then gat. It—plus gifts and goodies for two families— into my vehicle, and get on the road. Wouldn’t it be cool to just say “Beam me up, Scottie” and be teleported where you need to go?

Happy Holidays! I hope you all had a nice Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Day. The craft ladies at the Methodist church told me about their Christmas Eve service and my dh and I went. It is a beautiful church and the service was filled with lots of carol singing and responsive reading. At the end they had a candlelight portion where we all sang "Silent Night" and went outside with our candles lit. So beautiful! I had never experienced anything like this so it was a treat. I was just hoping I wouldn't drop my candle and someone's coat catch fire. LOL!!! shinyhappytina- Hey, great seeing you! Glad you stopped by. What a fun tradition you all share. That just makes the holiday even more memorable. WOW! Have you been scrapping or any other craft lately? I haven't scrapped much this year but have made a few cards and gotten into art. I love having a variety of creative expressions. grammadee- Hope you are feeling better and have a fun trip with your family. patin- What a sweet picture of your dh reading Luke. Good seeing you too. knutschen- That cold bug seems to like bothering you. I hope it leave you soon! But I hope you are feeling better this week. Take it easy if you can. How are your fur babies doing? Waving hi to you all and wishing you a great rest of the week.

Trying to add a picture image here and it isn't posting. I got the bbcode from Flickr added to the image url box then added text to alt box and my picture is not appearing just the codes. It's been a while since I posted a picture and maybe I am missing a step. Any advice? Until then, I uploaded a picture in our gallery of all the Pokey Christmas cards I received. Looks so good.

Happy Holiday everyone. Sorry for being MIA this month. I have looked at the photos of all the lovelies (tree, cards, stockings), but have not even had time to read through all of the goodness. I even left the thread up at least twice in an attempt to do so. Life has been busy this month. DD is finally starting to feel better from traveling in November. DH has been home all week and is home until the 2nd! He will work from home a couple of days though. We're driving down to him on the 3rd. DH & I have a house hunting trip on the 4th. Of course, both houses I really wanted to look at sold last week. I just thought that not much would sell in December. I still think their market is overpriced and will come down some this coming year. But it probably won't come down as much as I'd like. We'll doing Christmas at Don's mom's on Saturday. So we're drawing out the seasonal celebration an extra week. maribeth, so glad you have stopped back in. I had been thinking of you and your lovely Christmas decor after Thanksgiving. Also, you would totally get into the monthly team challenges here. They really have a Calvinball-esque quality to them. kellyr21, that candlelight service sounds amazing. grammadee, hope you have a safe and fun trip. shinyhappytina, Enjoy your trip. knutschen, did you get your comp books finished? joyfulnana, I love the stockings! nylene, you and Steve cannot catch a break. I hope you are feeling better. How's the knee? I'm sorry for your dd & dsil's loss. patin, I hope I remember Christmas Adam in case we (dh & I) have that tradition. @elaynef, what cute nativities! woodysbetty, I've been thinking of you. Good luck with the move. Only a week left! Waving hi to justjac, msliz, and justlisa7. Hope everyone is having a restful, health-inducing time!

Hello, Pokeys! You must all think I have "flown the coop". I made a big long post on Christmas Eve. I was working on it when DH came in asking about where to find wrapping paper, tape, etc. LOL In the same place they have been for the 45 years we've lived here. I do have to forgive him though because his eyes are continually getting worse. It really is hard for him to see things back in a closet. I told him I needed to finish the last sentence and then I jumped up to help him. Apparently I didn't hit save, because it isn't posted. shinyhappytina , it's so nice to see you checking in. I know this is a busy time for you writing grants etc. for next year. I can't believe Grif is 15. Wow, time flies. I hope you have a wonderful trip to the warm country! Universal Studios sounds like a lot of fun. Stop by any time you get a minute. maribeth , your cards made from scrap items sent from someone else are really cute. You are really clever! I was going to drop out of our Card Club because I now have an Addiction meeting on that night, but my gang changed the day of the week for me so I can still participate. I'd love to see you join in the challenges here if you have time for one more "wild" challenge. woodysbetty , I have thought so much about you and all the work ahead of you. It sounds like you are well organized, but I know it is still hard. Hugs to you and DH on the move. grammadee , are you still doing well health wise? You are such a busy lady and you do everything with such energy. I am sending hugs and prayers for a little relaxing time over the holidays. My DGS, Alex, is determined that he is going to invent a transporter so you can teleport from place to place. As soon as he perfects it, I'll let you know! LOL LisaDV , I am glad DD is doing better and I'm sorry the houses you have been interested in have sold. There must be another perfect fit out there somewhere. Take care of yourself and your family. kellyr21 , I wish I could help you with posting the link. If you pmail grammadee , I'm sure she can walk you through it. Cindy was always my "go to" computer helper! I cried when I came to her name on my Christmas card list. I wish I could walk to the Farmer's Market. We have just a couple of inches of snow right now, but more coming. The church service sounds wonderful for Christmas Eve. patin , that photo of your husband reading The Night Before Christmas is such a great one. So many memories will be brought back as you look at it in the coming years. Thanks for sharing. justjac , your tree is beautiful. I was so impressed with the pop up Christmas tree. Did you just figure that out, or do you have a die that helped. Gorgeous. knutschen , I hope you took a photo of your composition books. I'd love to see them. We may make some for Cousin Camp next summer so I need ideas. joyfulnana , I am sure your stockings were a hit. That's more talent than I have. If I had to take one out and start again twice, I'm afraid I'd give up. They are wonderful. @elaynef , msliz , and justlisa7 , I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah. Angie and family were here for 6 days and left in a snowstorm. Luckily the weather cleared as they got closer to Calif. Sammie planned musical numbers for our Christmas Eve and the reading of the Christmas story from the Bible. We had flutes, violins and a cello and lots of good snacks. My knees are almost back to normal. I can tell I will need surgery before 2019 ends, but I'm putting it off for a while. We had an Addiction meeting on Christmas night. If no one comes, we are to go through the reading and then leave. We were just finishing the reading when a man came in saying he really needed to be with people to keep from using. We started over and had a good meeting with just one participant and our Facilitator. I can see that holidays could really trigger addictions. We will have that same meeting on New Years night. I hope he comes again if he's having a hard time. I will be starting a new January thread on Monday. Have a great New Year's Eve, everyone.
