HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEEET LisaDV! I hope you have had a wonderful day with your family around you. We have had a lazy day, putting together a puzzle, straightening my scraproom, visiting with a friend. I hope I have a lot more of those kind of days ahead. It felt good to have nothing really pressing. kellyr21, I'm sure your in-laws loved your art. You are such a talented lady. Maybe this will be the year that you will find a place to move that has room for you to spread out and paint, paint, paint! Waving to each and every Pokey Pea.

Hello everyone! I can't believe this year is nearly over! I love the start of a new year! January and September always feel like such a clean slate with all kinds of possibilities! It's so nice to see other pokey's that I don't "know" yet checking in! Waving hi to shinyhappytina and hope you will check in more often! I have never met nylene but I feel sure she is a sweetheart  Happy Birthday LisaDV!!! I hope it's been a wonderful restful fun day for you! I say restful because I like quiet restful time myself lol. That sucks that the houses you wanted to see have sold. Your perfect house is out there and I hope it shows itself soon! I'm so glad your DD is feeling better! woodysbetty I think about you and your move often. As a self proclaimed nomad, I don't envy you the moving part, but starting over in a new place is so exciting! I hope it goes smoothly and you are back to crafting soon! grammadee you would be waiting a long while for stockings from me LOL! I knit just as slowly as I scrap! lol I hope you are feeling back to 100%. It sounds like you had busy holidays and more to come! justjac I got your card! It's so beautiful and your handwriting is amazing! Thank you! nylene I have lost long posts too and it's sooo frustrating! But more often I hope on and write up a post without realizing I'm not logged in...grrr. That's awesome that your meeting was there for that gentleman in his time of need. I hope he comes back soon as well. I'm glad your knees are much better! I hope msliz, justlisa7, kellyr21, and @elanyef that you are all doing well and survived this month! We went to see the new Spiderman movie. Rudy went in his new spiderman pajamas and shoes and looked like he was dressed to meet his hero lol. That is the first time I have gone to a movie with him and he did really well! It's fun to see how quickly from changes from birthday to birthday. He was pretty well engrossed in the movie and whispering his questions to his daddy lol. The movie was cute, but felt a little long for me. I'm off now until Wednesday with no children and I'm going to straighten up my scrap room and hopefully spend a lot of the next 2 days working on pages. |

nylene - how awesome that you were there for that man who came in during in his time of need. What a blessing! joyfulnana - my husband took the boys to see the Spider-Man movie last night. They liked the movie a lot! I volunteered to watch the baby so my daughter and son-in-law could go out for a bit by themselves. They picked up the baby and then my husband came Home with the boys and we had a sleepover. My daughter leaves for Hawaii on Jan 8, and I am starting to feel sad. I will miss her so much. It will be hard for me, I know, to have her so far away. I hope you all have a Very Happy New Year!! 😊 I look forward to being back on the board and chatting and doing challenges again the middle of January.

justlisa7, is your daughter going to Hawaii for school? work? I must have missed you talking about it. How long will she be gone. Your sleepover with the boys sounds like fun and tending the baby sounds like heaven. How I miss babies around here. joyfulnana, I had to giggle about Rudy dressed up like his hero for the movie. How old is he? We took Alex (6) to a 2 hour play/musical just before Christmas. He was pretty good, but doesn't know how to whisper. I think when I tend him on Mon. mornings I are going to give him whisper lessons. He's a pretty loud and noisy guy. I'm glad Rudy did well in the movie. I'm sure he was thrilled to be there!

nylene he' 4 and a very loud and noisy as well lol. I was surprised, but he has been to a couple of movies recently so I guess he's learning the movie rules lol. He has so much energy! I wish I had a quarter of it! Boys are so fun! More fun than I ever thought they could be before I had two of my own lol. justlisa7 isn't your daughter married to a military member? For some reason Navy keeps coming to mind. She is going to be as far as she could be from you and still be in the US. When we moved and my kids stayed behind (which is just so wrong and backwards! But they were young adults) it was hard to be so far from them and I told them I had to hear from them at least once a day until I got used to the distance lol. I'm usually the first one with my hand up to stay home and keep the little because I'm such a home body lol.

Hi Pokeys! I hope you have all had a nice day today! It has been really nice to have some time off work. Today I worked on a puzzle with the kids. Griffin bought Mallory a 1000 piece puzzle of sloths doing yoga. He thought it was hilarious, so we decided to start putting it together. I also made a LO and started another one before we went out because my hubby wanted to take me to get some diamond stud earrings as a late Christmas gift (he didn't want to buy them without me). I'm not usually overly fancy, but had wanted a pair to wear to all of the events I have to go to. I haven't been to a jewelry store since we bought my wedding ring 26 years ago...I had no idea what those earrings would cost, that was shock! After seeing the cost, I decided that I don't really need them.  Lisa - my heart hurts for you. I will be really sad if any of my kids moves away. Hugs to you. Joyfulnana - I haven't seen the new Spiderman yet, but we saw Aquaman this weekend. It was REALLY good, I liked it a lot. It doesn't hurt that the star is pretty attractive. Nylene - It sounds like Sammie did a great job organizing Christmas. I'm really glad that we haven't had any big snow yet this year, just one icy day so far. I don't like winter at all, but at least now we live super close to work since we moved, so that will make it easier when the snow inevitably comes, this is Indiana after all. Well, I'm off to watch the second half of thee Colts game. I'm a big fan! Have a nice evening ladies! |

nylene and joyfulnana - she is moving there for 3 years with her husband. He’s in the Marines and will be stationed there. I plan to visit and bring her home too. Thanks God for FaceTime!! shinyhappytina - I will be so sad. My heart hurts thinking of it. So happy I have had her home here for the last couple weeks and until Jan 8 when she leaves. Also, I have been wanting to do a puzzle lately too. Sloths doing yoga sounds so crazy and fun to put together.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! We were supposed to go snow shoeing, but had a complete melt off. I'm actually very grateful as on Christmas Day I got a very sore throat. I thought maybe it was allergies. But on the 27 it was a full blown cold. I had stopped taking my vitamin/cold at bay regime before Christmas thinking I had avoided it from DH & DD. Nope. So back on the medicine with an additional homeopathic cold relief thing added in. On the 27th and 28th, I moved my desktop into the living room and set it up so I could tag kits and create the sketchy Saturday 29th layout while watching tv. Since it's a desktop and not a laptop, both of the kids were looking incredulously at me and shaking their heads. So for my birthday, we went to an escape room instead. We didn't make it out though. lol. We chose the hardest room and needed another 20 minutes. We were very close. It was a lot of fun. Since I had the cold, we skipped the bowling, which we had considered doing as well. We had a dinner at an Italian place we'd eaten at before but it was not good this time. Then we viewed some Christmas lights and headed home. It was a good time. Today, I'm feeling so much better! Hurray! Just in time to get things ready to go. I feel when the time is right the right house will present itself and I'm not too worried. I also don't want to move in the middle of winter. Maybe I'm a weirdo though. OK, no maybe about it. kellyr21 , I'm sure your inlaws really appreciated your art work. I hope you will find the right place for you this year and that it has lots of room for your paints. nylene , I hope you get more lazy days ahead. You definitely deserve some rest time. joyfulnana , your grandson in spiderman jammies brought a smile to my face and memories to my heart. My ds16 used to wear his spiderman pj's and go around saying "I'm Peter Parker." Don would then hold him while he walked his feet up the wall. Now DS is taller than Don. It goes too fast. justlisa7 , Enjoy the time you have left with dd. grammadee , hope you are enjoying your time with your grands and having safe travels. Waving hi to everyone. I echo LisaDV , HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR POKEY PEAS!I asked DH what we are doing for New Year and he started laughing. "Probably the same thing we have done the last few years, go to bed early!" You can see we are real party animals. We have considered going out to late lunch today. We have a gift cert. to Red Lobster but it's 13 degrees out there, with snowy, icy roads, and I'm not sure I want to venture out if I don't have to. Yes, real adventurers we are!! LOL justlisa7 , I now remember that your daughter is married to a Marine. How could I have forgotten those beautiful wedding pages? Facetime is such a blessing. Enjoy the next week with her! grammadee , I hope you are having a great visit and will return safely. shinyhappytina , I have to chuckle each time I type that. Knowing you in person, that name fits you perfectly. Can you believe it was 8 years ago that we got together at Scrapfest? We would love to see your layouts if you would like to post them to the gallery and link here. Our new puzzle this year was a fun and easy one. It was rows and rows of older (50's)soda pop cans with the old labels. It didn't take long. Nothing like sloths doing Yoga! LisaDV , I hope that the cold is kept at bay. We have both been coughing but it seems to have stopped. Take it easy. Your birthday night in the escape room makes me claustrophobic just thinking about it. Sorry you didn't make it out in time. I'd have been climbing the walls! I'm glad you could spend the time with your family. I have missed out on the Sketchy Saturdays. I seldom get into my scraproom on Sat or Sun. I hope to look them over in Jan and join in. joyfulnana , I wish we could bottle that energy our DGS have to use ourselves. Little boys never stop. I just have one boy and he wasn't as "go-go-go" as a little guy, but as he got older he had too much energy to keep up with. He's 47 and we never know what adventurous thing he is trying next. Off to get something done. |

kellyr21 - I think I am finally over my cold. Now DH seems to have the cough I had. I just hope he doesn't give anything back to me. My furbabies are doing good! We have been keeping the blinds open in the kitchen and the kittens love to gave out and watch the birds. nylene - I did take photos and I hope to get them uploaded to Flickr and share with everyone. LisaDV - I hope you had a Happy Birthday!! I finally got my composition books done today!! One of my nieces left this morning before I could give hers to her. Her sister will take it back to her when she goes back to KC. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!! I am off work tonight and plan to spend some time with my sister and hopefully my youngest niece. My oldest niece had to go back to KC as she is a teacher. She said she needs to get ready for classes this week. I was hoping to spend time with both of them.
