On the 5th day of Christmas, my scraproom gave to me,
FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!
For today's challenge, do one or more of the following: Use RINGS on your project. An extra point if they are GOLD rings. An extra point if there are FIVE of them. Share a photo of a ring. It could be your wedding ring, the halo on an angel, a frame around a photo or a stained glass window; maybe a wreath or a holiday napkin ring? Use the number 5 on your project. Remember it can be part of a longer number (like 25 ) Use circles on your project. They can be sentiment or journaling spots, mats &/or photos. This prompt made me think of "the circle of life". Tell a story about something your kids or grandkids (or nieces or nephews) are doing now that remind you of yourself as a kid. Or are you in your second childhood? Maybe you are enjoying something now that you haven't done since your FIRST childhood? Or are you STILL taking joy from some simple pleasure? Tell us about it. Use THIS sketch for a card or page or some other project. It has been provided to us by Scrapbook & Cards Today. BTW, if you choose to use this sketch, you may have the opportunity to be published in the SCT magazine. PM me for details. SCT_winter18_bonus_square2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

what a cute sketch! i have a story. as a child of the 70s/80s, we all had to have a record player and there are lots of old christmas photos of me holding up record albums. 2 off the top of my head that i can remember are john cougar's american fool and a kenny rogers greatest hits album. i vividly remember jamming to the saturday night fever album with my cousins in their bedroom and dancing around and being cool lol. and i remember getting the single "hit me with your best shot" one year, and the 3 of us girl cousins listening to it over and over until we knew all the lyrics. so, for the circle of life bit, my 19-yr-old, who has had an ipod since she was 10 and now has more songs on her phone than i have photographs, has declared she wants a record player. she'll be getting one for christmas, so i am now on the hunt for cheap albums (going to be scouring thrift stores and the like) and i'm secretly hoping to find at least one of my childhood favorites, which i will totally buy whether she would like it or not i can't wait to hear the pop and hiss only a record will give you. and i can't wait to share it with her

Love your story, stinkerbelle. Hope you can find and scrap those photos of yourself and maybe add some pic's of the records you get her for Christmas. Here is my take on the sketch. I don't make many square cards, so I was drawn to a page. I cut a bunch of the silver circles (thought they went better than gold with the photo), intending to use them tucked in behind the pic as a border. But when I went looking for white cs, I found this large Anna Griffin diecut which worked with the sketch perfectly. So I used only five of the rings. For gold, I used a couple of gold leaves from my Autumn bin. Fall is GONE by Gramma Dee, on Flickr As for the circle of life, I guess that out here on the farm the seasons are "real". They dictate our lives: our economic wellbeing, our day to day activities. Yet I love the opportunity to capture their beauty as they circle by me. Frost on trees has always fascinated me, as has an un-walked-on stretch of sparkling snow. After the brightly coloured autumn leaves are gone, I can hardly wait for the snow to arrive to cover up all the stark greyness. I hope my grandkids get a few hours each season--between jumping into a vehicle to head off to their various activities--to just "breathe it in".

Fab card grammadee, it's a great photo and that Anna Griffin diecut really sets it all off perfectly. I love the little carrot nose on the snowman too, so cute!

Fab LO's stinkerbelle! Love the sketch LO, how cool to use all those circles! I love the big flowers and the cluster with the present and the bow! The ring LO is stunning, I love the woodgrain across the bottom to pick up the wood background in the photo, so cool. I do love it when you do a white background cause it's so unexpected from you, I love the embossing and clusters, it's super lush! Loving those colours on the snowman LO too, they're perfect and I love the stripes with the circles and the cute flairs, so cool! There's always so many cool things to look at on your LO's, I keep spotting more little details every time I look!

stinkerbelle I love that story!! I remember the LP's I had - mostly the Eagles and Barry Manilow?? Those two don't even go together lol. I gave my DS a record player last year and I love the sound it makes right before the song starts. Such great memories!

I used lot of "rings" (well, digital eyelet thingies) on this LO, and some of them are even gold! I used 'The Little Things' kit by JoCee Designs and 'Enjoy The Moments Vol 6 Template' by Neia Scraps.
