On the 7th day of Christmas, my scraproom gave to me
7 geese and their eggs so lovely...
This was supposed to be yesterday's prompt if I were to follow the song correctly. Oh well, we can just do this today! Geese a-laying, huh? How about this....
For this challenge, include a Christmas goose on your page or card or project. I love them as a design element. I have asked stevenduncandesigner to draw in a few geese in one of Carta Bella's Christmas lines.
&/or Think of all that goose down in parkas and comforters. And use the phrase "BUNDLE UP!" somewhere on your project.
&/or Share a photo of yourself all bundled up.
&/or Create a card or page or other project that has at least one oval shape in honour of those goose eggs.
&/or
Use the word "SILLY" somewhere on your project. And a bonus point if you include at least one silly icon to support that word (it does not have to be a silly goose). &/or Tell us a story about something NEW this year. (Eggs represent rebirth, revitalization). Change is scary, especially when it comes at a time when traditions are so ingrained in us. But what is something you are looking forward to this holiday season? &/or What about Mother Goose? Do you have a Once Upon a Time story you loved as a child? Maybe your remember it being read to you around the holidays? Did you receive the book in your stocking? Maybe you still enjoy that story when you tell it to your kids or grandkids or nieces or nephews. Create a page that documents that favorite story.

This time of year we're getting a lot of overnight freezing temps and fog which always brings to mind "One fristy frosty morning when foggy was the weather, there I met an old man completely dressed in leather..." which I guess it either my misremembering of this rhyme:
"One misty, moisty, morning, When cloudy [foggy?] was the weather, There I met an old man All clothed in leather, All clothed in leather, With a cap under his chin. How do you do? And how do you do? And how do you do ag'in?"
All pretty nonsensical, really, like many of those old Mother Goose rhymes! I bought a book that has dozens of the old rhymes in it because I was worried that the old versions would be lost. Some of them are the same as I learned, others are different. Some I had never heard of. I don't have any kids myself, and I'm sure my nephew has never heard of most of them. He claimed not to know the words of any Christmas songs!
Anyway, I have a big old goose egg in terms of ideas for crafty responses to this challenge. lol. Does that count?

joblackford my kids don't know any christmas songs either! i learned them in school and they were never taught any, because of all the PC nonsense about not celebrating it at school. when they did christmas er holiday programs at school, the songs were all new "modern" songs that no one in the audience had ever heard of. since i'm not a huge christmas music fan, my kids have not had many opportunities to listen to it, so they just don't know any of the songs. pretty sad IMO. grammadee great prompt!

Our kids and grandkids seem to have a Disney view of the "classic" fairy tales, too. My grandmother read me Grimm's and Hans Christian Anderson stories that would make your toenails curl. I remember the story that Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother was actually EATEN by the wolf! The book I remember that our whole family enjoyed were Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. I can still recite some of the poems, and it was cool when my brother (10 years older than I) and I found the books in the abandoned house in which we grew up. He and I did an almost perfect recitation of "You are old, Father William..." and then checked it out with the source. I know those books were not Christmas gifts to me or my younger brother, because they were "always there", but I think they may have been gifts to our older brothers. I know I always really loved to find a book under the tree. They were scarce when I was growing up, and cherished. And read cover to cover multiple times. My dd says it is not Christmas until she has opened her "stocking gift" from me--which she often does at 12:01 Christmas morning--and takes out the essentials for a restful Christmas day: warm pj's, some chocolate, an Archie Betty & Veronica comic, a cheesy Christmas movie to watch, and a feel-good book. I often get her the Hallmark no-brainer romance stories. This year she is getting the latest Janet Evanovich b/c she really needs a laugh right now. Heads up: I want to include a prompt about music in a couple of days.

Such a beautiful card, grammadee! I love the colors of the background and all the layers and textures. I love how you combine embossing and mixed media/ink and die cuts all together on your cards.

Here is my LO for this challenge. After looking through 10+ years of snow photos to find some nice "bundled up" photos, I suddenly had a thought that I should scrap a photo of my dad and me at the football. Our team's colours are brown and gold (yuk!) or as the opposition supporters often say, poo and wee colours. Luckily I was able to find a kit that had just the right shade of poo and wee for this page! I used the 'Beauti-fall' kit which is a GingerScraps Design Team collaboration.

I tried to include a lot of woodland critters in my line "Santa's Workshop" but they got nixed because they didn't really work in the line. Who would have thought only elves and Reindeer live up at the North Pole. I'm going to have to start getting sneaky and hide them in illustrations like they do in Highlights for Children. Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Holiday Season. The work that I've seen using Santa's Workshop is amazing and I am so privileged to work with you all. Happy 2019 to everyone!

I'd like to say that as much I love your designs I normally struggle to use them because of the creamier backgrounds. I loved Santa's Workshop for the white backgrounds. Confession, I bought the North Pole paper with the map on it and just framed it. It's far too pretty to use and this way I can enjoy it every Christmas when I hang it up for the season.
