On the 11th Day of Christmas, merchandisers gave to me
inspiration from their high paid employees...
I don't know why, but "pipers piping" made me think of ads. And right now we are inundated by them: the post office box is stuffed with them, TV and computer screens scream for my attention. And they are [mostly] well designed to catch my attention visually.
For today's challenge, take inspiration from the seasonal advertisements and fliers you see. What can you lift of their design, colour combos, elements? Create a page or card or other project inspired by these ads.
&/or Tell us about your favorite advertisements. What is it that appeals to you about them? How might you use what you see in them in your crafting?
&/or Write a convincing letter to Santa asking for something you have seen in the crafting supply/tool ads. Why do you NEED this? What have you done to prove you were NICE and not naughty?
&/or create a page on which you include a screen shot or a print copy of the ad that caught your attention, AND your letter to Santa.
&/or Speaking of blowing your own horn, what about a page celebrating YOU! How might you advertise yourself as a friend, or community member? What are your outstanding characteristics, and how can you best highlight them?
&/or Create that page about someone else. How about "25 reasons I love you"

On my Christmas list this year I have the big set of 12 Dylusions paints and also a smaller set of 6 new colours. I just added a set of the new expanding mousses from Nuvo cause I'd love to try those as well. I did tell 'SantaOH' that I really wanted those paints so hopefully they end up under the tree! They were on my Pinterest list last year as well and I didn't get them so fingers crossed

I love this idea!! One of my favourite pages waaaaaaaay back in the day when I used to paper scrap, was for a similar challenge. We had to pick a page from a magazine and use it like a sketch, copying the layout of the page/ad for our LO. I can't wait to get home and start scouring the Christmas catalogues for inspiration.

I keep all the Christmas catalogs that show up until the end of the season, mostly so I can get all indignant about the waste!
But the last couple of years there have been some that really caught my eye. One year there was a page of lovely glitter photographed to be all sparkly and gold, so I used that to cut a number for my Christmas album instead of being sad that I don't have glitter paper. I just drew a 5 on the back of the paper and cut it out with scissors and honestly, it looks pretty awesome in my book.
This year the US Postal Service sent a catalog for philatelic gifts that was so nice I mistook it for a much fancier brand. I'm planning to cut some bits and pieces out of it for my album. And I think I'm going to use a SSS flyer as a base for a page, hiding the company/ad stuff and highlighting the sentiment and graphics. I loved the watercolor florals in the Scrapbook.com gift booklet last year but I'm not so keen on this year's ones. I cut last years up and pasted some of the flowers into a journal.
I always want to do something with the Tiny Prints/Shutterfly Christmas photo card flyer but so far I haven't found a use for it.

This is the ad that caught my eye:
And this is my LO: I used elements from the 'Little Dreamer' and 'Welcome To The World' kits, both by Kimeric Kreations.

Love the ads you chose and your takes on them, AussieMeg and stinkerbelle! I might put this challenge up in January, b/c I want to take it on, but won’t have time until after New Years.
