DS and I watched the first twenty minutes or so last night and so far we both really like it. DH can barely stay awake in the evenings this time of year so I think I might save it on the recorder for him.

I liked it, but I spent way too much time wondering who was going to turn into what villain. Will definitely continue to watch though.

Both my husband and I really enjoyed it. I, too, was recognizing several future villains in the making. I think that's part of the fun of the show. It's dark and gritty just like the city of Gotham.

I watched it because my sister wanted to, and I think I liked it better than she did. Was last night's episode the same one that originally aired last Monday? That's the one we saw. I've never seen a Batman movie but I used to read the comic books when I was a kid, so I know most of the back story.

My husband was continually saying "oh that is catwoman", "that guy is the riddler" etc etc. He was catching phrases & words throughout that hinted or indicated who would be the character.

I really like this being from the POV of Commissioner Gordon. I really didn't expect it to be so dark, even though I know that about the movies. I still think of Batman as the awesome campy TV show. BAM!POW! There were of course a few villains I recognized but researching afterward, it looks like I missed a few.

We DVRd it also...we'll be watching soon. I thought the previews looked good. We're actually watching Batman Begins right now, so I'll have some good background

We really like it. How old do you think Catwoman is? Teenager? I thought like 15. Young enough to be a believable future love interest for Batman. My sister thought more like 18.

So far, I think they only showed Catwoman, Riddler, Poison Ivy and the Penguin, did anyone else notice others? Does anyone else think the fiancée will turn out to be a villain? I don't know the backstory on Batman characters like I do other comics, so I have no idea if Commissioner Gordon is married or not.

I liked it. The young Bruce Wayne is the same actor from the series Touch with Kiefer Sutherland.

He does marry a woman named Barbara, but I sensed something sinister as well. I thought it was interesting the Donal Logue character's name is Harvey Bullock. That to me would make it difficult to introduce Two Face since his name is Harvey Dent. They wouldn't have two characters with the same first name, would they? I'm not familiar with the comic books so I don't know if the Bullock character is canonical?

Was the guy in the bar who was telling jokes - The Joker or the Riddler? Are those both characters from Batman?

I watched it on Tuesday and loved it. I don't usually watch a premiere of a show until more episodes have aired but I absolutely love both Donal Logue and Ben Mckenzie. I hope this show sticks around for a while, it is cool to see Gotham pre-Batman.

I was hoping Two Face would make an appearance so this leads me to think it's still open.

I really enjoyed it. Both my mom & I found the violence to be a bit more than we expected, though. I think we were expecting those elements to be more cartoon-y. We didn't think it'd be as campy as the old Adam West series, but I think we still expected it to leave a little more to the imagination.
I'll continue to watch, but it will definitely be a show I record so I can fast forward through those parts.

thanks for the review! This is about to start on Australia television and DH and I were wondering about it - I will let him know that it appears to at least warrants an initial viewing.

So glad you posted. I had forgotten about this show and will have to go in and set it to record. Hopefully the first show will air again or we'll have to watch it online.

Our 12 y.o. enjoys SHIELD & has been looking forward to Gotham since it was announced. Although I was surprised, uncomfortable, & disappointed in the amount & level of violence, we liked the pilot & plan to continue watching for now.
