I followed your advice that last time you said pork prices would be going up soon (they did!) and we bought a bunch of sausage on sale. I only have 2-3 packages left (out of 20). Think it will come down soon? or is higher prices here to stay?

Yea I gave up making sausage fir dinner. What used to be a $3.50 package is now $6 and I need 2 and for $12 I can get a really good steak from the butcher. We eat more steak now way less pork.
It's interesting how what used to be an inexpensive meal us now premium lol

I've read that pork farmers who are in drought areas are cutting down on their stock because of the higher cost of feed. in that time, pork prices will level off (and may even go on sale) while there is a glut of inventory. then the prices will rise because there won't be as much inventory available to stores from farmers who can't afford to as many pigs.
as I flip through the weekly supermarket ads, I see less and less "sale" prices on beef and pork. bacon prices have certainly skyrocketed. the Vons ads used to have lots of meat on sale and now the ads are mostly showing "everyday low prices" with very few sale prices.
