AKathy's "What's For Dinner?" 12/15

I made fudge and baked cookies this morning. Now I’m going to take a nap. We’re going to BIL and SIL’s house tonight for a sibling get together. We’re bringing salad which dh is making. 

DH and I just got back from a morning walk. I'm pretty much finished with my shopping but now I have to start getting the house ready for a dinner we're hosting this Friday for two other couples. It's super casual and I'm making shrimp gumbo and we'll play board games afterwards. No idea what's for dinner tonight.

DGS requested chicken bowtie pasta for supper. I think they are going to go see Santa then come here for supper so I'm sure he'll be full of stories tonight!

Yes.  Yes it is. Dh opted for a large orange Nordic bowl instead of a foil pan. Maybe she’ll offer me my bowl back tonight. Ha ha ha. 🤣

leannec.....I hope you can let that shopping stress go, and just get some rest! With your verrry stressful job, you certainly deserve some down-time & chillin’. 😀



jeremysgirl.... I was soooo happy to read your post the other day about things getting better.... especially that your Mom APOLOGIZED!!!! And your daughter’s chair is SO NICE....wow! 😱. Did ya grab that lottery ticket yet? 😆

One of our nephews has his first serious girlfriend, and I cannot WAIT to meet
her next week! I’ve never seen him him in love, so it’ll be sweet! On a sad note, another of our awesome nephews broke up with his verrrry long-time ( thought / hoped they’d be married someday) girlfriend that we all just LOVED !!!! We all
loved seeing her every Christmas—-she was truly special and all of us looked forward to the day
they might have cute child(ren) together. She ADORED my nephew and all of us, and she would always tell my sis-in-law and I howwww much she wanted to be with him forever and have his baby/ies. We all miss her so much, it won’t be the same without her there!

Ooops, sorry for the RAMBLING!!!! If anyone is still reading....lol..... going back to that other nephew who’s newly in love—-my sister &
niece just LOVE this girl & tell me that aside from being sweet, her sense of humor fits our family perfectly, which
is GREAT, because we sometimes think our family is a bit silly & we have manyyyy
“inside jokes” that newcomers might find weird, dumb, NOT funny, etc! 😜


tuesdaysgone.... I LOVE that everyone wears jammies to the party!!!!! I wanna ask
my family to do that!!! I’m soooo excited to see our families !!! our fun road trip is Fridayyyyyy!
We got new, comfy beds for Meaty & Sophie that they will enjoy on the road trip and in the
hotel. We are soooo thankful that they are GREAT travelers! They sleep almost the entire 8-9
hour trip!


Our longest trip so far with them was about 14 hours ( to Albequerque), and they are SO easy to
travel with! I’ve heard of doggies that can’t stand being in a car for even 5 *minutes*, so when
I say I’m thankful, I truly MEAN it !!!!

DH is picking us up a pizza, and we’re looking forward to watching a movie like we do every
Saturday night. BUT, a friend just texted me to go to a fun event, so I MIGHT do that , but I
am verrrrry comfy at home and already in my pajamas, so I’m torn.

The event is a bit farther than I wanna drive, BUT.... I have a birthday lasagne in my freezer for my friend who just texted, and this would be
a perfect time to deliver it to him. He’s my “ adopted baby brother” and I LOVE cooking & baking for him. We used to work together, and he loved it when
I’d bring him homeade dinners and/or cakes & cookies to share with him and all of our co-workers.

His event also happens to be near some stores that I’d reallllllllly like to go to. DH rarely
goes with me to social stuff; unless it’s FAMILY things, but we don’t live near family anymore. We have some SWEET friends that I consider FAMILY, but he doesn’t. I wish he liked going to these events; he’s a FUN & NICE person, but I have to
accept that he’s happier alone at home, with “da puppsph”, so I go by myself and have a great
time. 😀 It’d just be MORE fun if he’d join us.... oh welllll !

I think I'm all finished with Christmas shopping! I picked up a leather wallet for DH at a craft fair this morning and that was the last thing on my list.

I'm making the Scotch eggs I promised DS last week (when DH is away leftovers build up quickly so we had a couple FFY nights). Spaghetti squash and green beans will also be on the table. Not sure whether rice or mashed potatoes will also be there.

OMG leannec , that meme is fricken hilarious!! 

It was just DS and I home for dinner, so I decided to treat him to Maccas. I pull up to the drive through and ordered my and DS's food. Then I asked the girl "What's the cheapest, plainest burger that you sell?" She said "Do you want it in a Happy Meal, or just a burger on it's own?" I  replied "Well, it's actually for my dog, so...... just the burger please."

I’m just starting to feel stressed about everything I need to do for the holidays.
I haven’t sent any cards. None for family. None for the 2peas swap yet. But I bought the stamps.

Dd#1’s Birthday is tomorrow. She’s only free Monday night this week. but it’s my studio girls christmas get together. I feel bad not canceling but dd wouldn’t cancel if it was her.

Dd is home for the holiday break so after work today(which was added without my knowledge) we had our nails done.
We’ve been unhappy with our usual place. Our regular guy hasn’t been there for months. Nail people do not tell where people move on so we didn’t know. We walked in & he’snow working at this nail salon. He was booked though.
Then we went out for tacos.

I missed this info and will go looking, but I’m sorry, too.

teddyw, Happy Birthday to your dd.

scrappintoee, I'm sorry that your nephew broke up w/his gf. My big fear is that yds will break up w/his gf and the next girl will be just horrible to us. I love and adore gf and will be very sad if they break up. Luckily, for now they are even closer than ever.

KelleeM... I am so very sorry about your cousin !!!! 😰You and your family have
had too many deaths recently; I am sending up prayers for everyone who loved & misses all
of those who’ ve died, and also sending (( hugs ))!
