My DD just mentioned that she’d like to try a weighted blanket. I know nothing about them. Can anyone recommend a brand ?
Thanks ,

I’m curious as well. I’d love to try one, but I tend to sleep warm/hot, and don’t know if one of these would be too hot for me.

I just bought one off a seller on Etsy in hopes that it will help my youngest sleep better but it's a Christmas gift so I don't have anything to report about how well it works. The Etsy seller was really great to work with and the blanket is beautiful. The name of her store is lilpeeperkeepers. No affiliate or anything, just really happy with her service. I followed the recommendations on a thread here earlier and went with glass beads instead of plastic/poly. Can't wait to see if it helps him!

This is the one that I bought my daughter off of Amazon a couple months ago. She has low-level anxiety, but it was getting worse. She is in LOVE. So much so that my sister bought all her girls a blanket as well. Sadly, those are Christmas presents, so I cannot give you a review on that one, but my DD is very pleased. Personally, I cannot imagine having that on me, but I have zero-level of anxiety. My other DD - twin to the original! - does not have anxiety, but tried the blanket and loves it. She is always wrapped up. My DD just told me all her roommates have asked for one for Christmas and get in her bed when she's not there. So I recommend it on this basis! ETA: This one has glass beads. I went with one that was recommended as well, and I'd be surprised if it was recommended by a Pea.

I can't give a review either as the one I purchased is a Christmas present, but I got it off Costco.com for $90. It came with a cover and free shipping. Costco has a great return policy, so if it's hated it should be easy to return....that is, if I don't keep it for myself.

I really want one, but DH said, “$100 for a BLANKET? Ah, NO.” Ha ha, I’ll probably buy one for myself for my birthday.

I bought one for my dd a year ago and she loves it. I think they’re very comforting and am planning to get one for myself.
I can’t recall where I ordered it, but I’m not sure I would recommend them. The quality is great but it was a little concerning when ordering because there was almost no communication and I was afraid I had been scammed. But it did finally arrive and was worth the wait.

I bought the Tranquility(Brand) weighted blanket during black Friday weekend. I got it from Kohls. With coupon, reward money, Kohl cash...I paid $43-ish It weighs 12 pounds. It is throw, so not full blanket size. Perfect size for me.
I love it! I have noticed a difference in my sleep. I still wake up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. But when I am sleeping, that sleep is much more solid and deeper, and lasts a longer duration. My tossing and turning, and feeling like I never truly got a "deep sleep" has decreased. Around the same time I started using the weighted blanket, I also started using a wedge pillow(to help my post nasal drip sinus/throat congestion)...so between the two, my sleep is so much better than it was. I highly recommend a weighted blanket.

I bought one for myself TG week from amazon. I paid about $65. It is twin size 15 lbs. I like it and use it every night but I dont think it has helped my insomnia.
It is not hot.
According th o the charts, for my weight I should have a heavier one but 15lbs is really heavy to me. It is hard to turn over and hard to get it positioned because I guess my arms aren't strong. I am usually not under it when I wake up. So, I guess what I am saying is I like it and it is comfortable but I probably would not buy another one.

Third time a charm, bought my DD one at Bed Bath and Beyond... first one was too narrow, second one wide enough but not heavy enough. Finally ordered one online and it seems to be the winner. Love that bed bath and beyond has a one year return policy!!!! Plus a 20%off coupon made a big difference

I am goin to have to give this one some serious thought. Thanks! Marcy

Really Red thank you for the link! I ordered the twin size blanket. It won't be here until after Christmas, but that's ok! Best of all, I was able to use my Amex points to reduce the cost. She is going to be tickled and I am going to be able to rest easier. Thanks, Peas! Marcy

mlana Yay!! My daughter is home for break and missing her blanket. I hope your daughter loves it just as much. Also, it does need a comforter cover. She's been using it without one. I ordered this one for her birthday (today) and it is so soft and beautiful. It has a lot of fun different details, but the "duck" one just made me laugh.
