Please don't let a Grinch steal your joy. If you loved sending and receiving the cards, screw them! I really hope to retire this year. If I do, I am in! I knew I simply did not have the time this year. You know what...you are so right. Screw those who are complaining that people signed up and didn't send any. F them!! Wooohooo, I’m glad you are not going to let a few steal your joy in participating!!

I didn't take part in the card exchange, but am wondering if the complaints aren't due to a misunderstanding? Do participants receive a list of all participants and then each person randomly decides who and how many to send to? If so, I would imagine that just like any list, the ones at the beginning would likely receive more of a response than those towards the end of the list. And perhaps others choose to send to those that live locally/domestically due to postage cost constraints? That is how it works but not the reason for complaints. The complaints are about people who have signed up for several years but apparently never sent any cards. I dunno how anyone could know that, but that is the only thing being complained about, so no-one who sent some but less than the full list needs to get defensive about it. I’m not sure how anyone could know for certain either, but if someone repeatedly signs up with no intention of ever sending anything out, then that’s on them. However, if these individuals can’t reciprocate for whatever reason, then either cross them off your own list next year or stay in the spirit of Christmas, spread some joy and continue sending it to them.

Send or don't send. It's ok with me. I LOVED getting any card I got. I'm vowing to up my game next year the peas are a talented group! My grandkids ages 6&7 begged me not to open them until they came over. The excitement on their face was just precious. They tracked how far they came from too. We are going to make them together for next year. They have reminded me that it truly is the little things that bring true joy. Thank you again for putting everything together!

I mailed to everyone but not sure who got what card. But I did try to put a little local stamp on the back of most of the cards I sent out

ha!! I should go out and look for some clearance-priced Christmas decor, too... I still can't figure out how exactly to best display my swap cards. And I really SHOULD start making cards for 2019, but I'm totally over making Christmas cards for a while, and want to get back to scrapbooking. I can't do both at the same time. (but I do need to start making cards sooner; I started in September-ish, and still ran out of time because I didn't work on them steadily enough.)

I'll be in for 2019 too! I just knew I didn't have it in me in 2018. I'm looking forward to it.

I've participated in this card swap for the past 4 or 5 years. This is the first time any sort of negative post or anything has come into it. For myself I have decided not to let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. I will be participating again next year. I didn't get to send out as many cards as I wanted to this year. Between a death in the family and my chronic migraines time just got away from me. I sent out 35 cards to international and USA Peas. I normally send out about 80, always trying for more picking from the list randomly and sending out cards to whoever sends me one. I still plan on sending out a few more and making them into New Year's cards.
The spirit of this swap is intact in my opinion. It is in the warmth, the kindness and Christmas spirit I felt as I opened each card I received. I am grateful for every card I received-it really helped to lift my spirits this year.
The purpose of this swap is to send out however many cards as you wish or can. Not everyone can afford to send out cards to everyone on the list, especially our international Peas with their extremely high cost of postage. No one should be keeping track of who sends what. That negates the spirit of the swap. Since it has happened I refuse to let it ruin the swap for me. There are so many more good people than there are bad. This swap proves it. All I have to do is look over at the wonderful assortment of cards I received, most of them handmade, to see the true spirit of Christmas shining through.
