I'm watching a free basic (not really) die-cutting class on Scrapbook.com, and Carissa Wiley is teaching it. Almost every sentence she speaks has "go ahead and" in it. It's driving me crazy, so I think I have to stop watching. Also, I'm not a beginner, but if I were, I would find some of these lessons way too involved to be considered basic. A 42-minute Silhouette Studio lesson is too much for a beginner to handle.

I used to watch a YouTube scrapper who said this over and over and over again in every single video. So I just had to “go ahead” and unfollow her...it was just so grating and distracting.

Nothing like a craft video to bring out those verbal tics (and viewer's pet peeves)! Go ahead and... is one of the ones that bugs me after a while, but it's also reeeeally common. I guess it's the verbal equivalent of the way I used to write stories in primary school. And then, and then, and then, and then... But anyway, free class, you say? I might have to go ahead and check that out

I hate when I notice things like that, because then it’s all I notice and drives me crazy.

You can add 'cute little _______' & 'just looks adorable' to the list of 'oh my god do you have to use that every five seconds' phrases. I'd suggest the 'take a shot every time X is said' party game of dubious value, except then we'd all by dying of alcohol poisoning after watching a single video.

I have a co worker who always says...needless to say...literally in almost every sentence. Ugh. My MIL says “at the end of the day” constantly - we tease her about it so she’s trying to stop. So many scrapbookers say “so cute” all the time. It’s better than the talking hands, those I can’t stand and always have to fast forward through.

I’ve taken several of the Scrapbook.com classes and I found that if you stick to the better known teachers like Tim Holtz or Heidi Swapp they aren’t bad. That constant “...go ahead and...” or whatever would drive me nuts.

Needless to say, at the end of the day, I'm going to go ahead and scream! Know what I mean?

The lady from RTS Scrapbooking (a youtube channel) says '...yes!' all the time and it drives me nuts. Her content is otherwise enjoyable enough (something I can listen to while doing other things...more than white noise but doesn't require my full attention) so I try not to let it get to me, but if I'm having a day where everything irritates me I just make sure to avoid her videos.

I do answer her with, no I don’t know what you mean, yet I can’t watch fluttering hands. Just now a newsperson had her arms flailing all over the place. Had to turn the channel!

I watch many scrapbook/cardmaking videos without the sound. I don't need to listen to a person's life history. Just so me the technique.

I had a student teacher years ago who talked much faster than this lady. It used to crack me up because the kids were just exhausted trying to keep up with her. When they reached their limit, they would slump over and give up. At this point she would just put her hands up and look at them and say "focus people!" I died every time. I will say that she was a great teacher and I never had a better class with a student teacher. Now I am imaging you slumped over in your scrap chair with a single tear running down your cheek.

I totally get how you can start to focus on one phrase. The one that gets me is “if that makes any sense”. Usually something is explained and demonstrated so yeah it makes sense.

Ugh! My boss says go ahead and... during faculty meetings. Someone took a tally once and she said it 79 times in 25 minutes!! It drives me bonkers.

Had to stop watching her. It wasn't the verbal tics - it was that there was something twee about her whole delivery.

If I may add to the list.
Here are a few of my least favorites....
"You know".....No, I don't know, that's why you are telling me!
"Literally"..... Really?
"Like"

A YouTuber says “Super cute” “so cute!” “Cute!” That it’s all I focus on when I’m listening so I just fast forward to the end to see the final page and call it done.

The only time I can't is really wobbly room tours (it makes me dizzy and gives me a headache) and when people do move quickly (for me) like 'include a thank you...and then some'. Those i have to watch real time.

Ugh, 'cute'. Don't get me wrong, many of the things I like for crafting fall under the 'cute' umbrella. The problem is the word is so damn overused it becomes nonsensical. Noise. Pointless. When you're calling every single product in your video 'cute', what's the point? Are there no other words in your vocabulary? How about delicate, or intricate, or adorable, or sweet, stylized, simple, attractive, clean, dazzling, elegant?! Cute as just about ceased to have meaning for me.

The one that gets me is "gorgeous" emphasized as GORRR-JUS! "Guys, isn't this just GORRR-JUS?" "Oh, my gosh ... YOU. GUYS. THIS. IS. GORRR-JUS!"

As teachers, we were always encouraged (or forced) to video tape ourselves teaching lessons. Then we were to go back and evaluate our strengths and weaknesses. Nothing makes you realize the things you say too often than having to watch yourself. I used the word "Guys" a lot.

Carissa's card making style is one of my favorites out there but I stick to her blog and Instagram. The "go ahead and..." Doesn't bother me half as much as the "I'm going to kinda place this here" "I'm going to kinda color this pink" "I'm going to kinda fussy cut this". You're not going to kinda do something, you just did it! There are others that say this a lot but she says it the most.
