I think people worry this is the writing on the wall. I think pocket scrapping is here to stay, however, the brand Project Life could possibly go under. I think Becky got bored and completely missed the point that this was the linchpin in her brand. Now she may or may not be able to pull it back from destruction. If she is willing to do the work and expand Project Life I think she could do it.
Bring back albums in 12x12, 6x8, add some 9x12, people will buy. Probably her best selling core kit was Midnight. It was the perfect, neutral kit that could used for any theme. Get a design team on You Tube. Christ, AE has basically written the template for successful project life spreads. Add in small kits like AE SBTM released as a full year kit. Use more sophisticated design like AE. She could do it, but I don’t know that her ego will allow her to go that direction.

She could do it, but I don’t know that her ego will allow her to go that direction. It'd be just the thing to build her ego...IF that were possible. 😂 I think you're absolutely right though. You hit the nail on the head. If she would put in the work she could have a real gem.

I’m assuming that’s $99 AUS? I wanted to buy some things from Cocoa Vanilla, and the $65 US shipping from Aus to US stopped me. And rates are only going up! I don’t understand why it’s soooo expensive to ship. Can you not get the Cocoa Vanilla from a US online store? I have ordered all of mine online from My Little Scrapbook Store. Cocoa VanillaYeah, but they are pricey and always seem to be out of stock of the products I want. I just wish she still jad a digi shop and/or still designed for MME.

They're not going out of business but they're firesaling all their stock for $3 or $5? I don't get it. If they're "just moving", "not closing" why not move the stock to wherever their new fulfillment location will be? Seems way more like closing than moving.
BH did a lot of stories today. I can never understand whether BH is a company or simply a chatty over-sharer w/a need to make sure we "guys" are kept up to date on every facet of her life, burnt bread and all.

I don't think their office was their wherehouse. I think the products they have in the office were from promotional shoots and display. From glancing at her IG stories there aren't a ton of duplicates of individual items. She also responded that there will new physical PL designs coming out.

Depending on the size, weight, storage method and distance involved, it can be cheaper to liquidate stock rather than pack it up and move it to a new location. Really depends on the listed factors though.

They are just trying to get rid of the stock they had in their office, since they are transitioning to work from home.

I wonder how far their office is from their fulfillment center? Seems like something you could drive over in a small truck if it's not too far? But liquidation will make a lot of people happy to be able to pick up physical product. And I'm sure Becky will (over)share every step of the way if not every purchase

Sounds like they have a lot of discontinued stuff and not many duplicates. Plus it also sounds like some of the kits have been opened for the purpose of photo taking. It wouldn't make much sense to try to sell that stuff through their website. If I lived nearby I'd probably go check it out and see what I could snag for real cheap!

Dammit. I created my account her today just so I could ask what the deal is with PL and if its going away. *sigh* I know I can make my own cards but like the idea of buying sets, especially when they have cut outs and such. *I used to post to 2Ps back in the day but fell out of scrapping completely, just getting back into using some PL stuff I bought a year ago. Welcome! This is a great community. Thanks! Feels good to be back.

Yeah, it's sad that there is a decline in her cards, but honestly there are so many other great companies out there that make wonderful PL cards! My favorites are Ali Edwards, Studio Calico & Kelly Purkey but there are tons of options. No need to make your own cards if you'd rather buy, whether the official Project Life is around or not. Welcome to the boards, I hope you find your scrapping groove again! Thanks for the recs! It's good to be back in a scrapping community, really does help keep my motivation going

That would make sense - falls under 'storage method'; if you have a lot of non-standard items those are a pain the butt to process or integrate into a larger existing stock.

She really let her ego get the best of her it was like she was trying to mash a bit of Oprah and a bit of Gwyneth Paltro together LOL. The wrapping paper/ those hideous dresses and I think she even had jewellery and even the whole cultivating a good life thing.
It's sad she has such a great concept and product but she needed to get more diverse designers on board and listen to what her customers wanted. Her shipping rates are out of this world and no brick and mortar stores seem to carry her products. It was like she's in a bubble and her team just agreed with every silly idea she every thought of in her little head.
Her earlier YouTube videos on how to get caught up and her app are awesome.
I think it will only be a matter of time before she is a member of the companies we once shopped from.
Like another pea said she could resurrect PL if her ego allowed but I think she won't let that happen.
Like lisacharlotte said PL will live on just not with BH

It was like she's in a bubble and her team just agreed with every silly idea she every thought of in her little head. After she asked what people wanted to see and most answered that they would like to see more PL and less of the other stuff, her next posts were about wrapping paper, t-shirts, and BH favorites (featuring car hooks). It's almost like she and her staff are purposely thumbing their noses at us.

Or they were never interested in the actual answers, just the social media attention.

How do these people stay in business?

They do for a while, then usually slide down into obscurity, unless there's a catastrophic failure at some point that puts the company out of its misery.

@superawesome2000 thanks for the tip! I don't see new Shimelle or Dear Lizzy collections yet. Maybe they are releasing later since they both released collections in October?

I think it’s telling from that ridiculous shirt video that it has 13 reactions, 3 comments and 5.4k views. That is a low response rate...

So telling... Just read a comment on her IG from a person who started following her because of a contest. Purchased some Stone wrap and sign but has no idea what PL is. #yourenotdoingthisright (BH not the follower)

So many of the responses to her recent request for feedback were about more of a focus on physical PL. There's new product coming to scrapbook.com and BH hasn't bothered to tell anyone, even offer a sneak?!? Just a huge disconnect going on.
Well, further investigation reveals that the Click core kit isn't available on her website, so she probably doesn't want to promote it if she could lose sales to a competitor. Again, missed opportunity.

That would be my thinking as well. I still haven't seen many layouts using either collection yet anyway because all the focus has been on Christmas.

This is an interesting topic to me since I have so many friends and family who are not scrapbookers/crafters so obviously they don't watch YouTube videos, visit craft stores, read crafty blogs, etc. How in the world would anyone in the craft world reach out to them? I'm really being serious here. Any ideas short of running national TV ads and in the few magazines remaining?

I'm not sure how that relates to what I post. The person I posted about was an IG followers of BH for a while and had no idea what PL was. I'm not sure how companies reach out to those beyond their typical market. Or even if it is worth their while. I'm sure some pay for FB, IG and Pinterest adds which would possibly reach beyond their typical market depending on how the coding works.
