ETA: Okay, I've just gone through and had a proper read of the rest of the challenges (I'd only skimmed them before) and I notice that this one of mine might almost be a duplicate of one of LisaDV 's: #26 Photo Crazy - Use a Large Photo like The whole length or the whole width of the page or the whole page!
Or blended photos. Or use a shape other than Square/Rectangle (think circle, triangle, hexagon, etc.)I only read the part about using a big photo and missed the additional bit about using different shapes. Do y'all think I need to change this one to something else? Or is it different enough because my challenge relates to the background shapes as well as the photo? Last month I told breetheflea that I was going to include a hexagon challenge in January and she could use her new hexagon punch, but I notice she's not on a team this month anyway.

#35 December documenters: Finish up that December album or those December layouts. Take an extra point if it's a December 2018 layout/spread/page.
#36 Type it: Use your typewriter or a typewriter font for this challenge. Embellishments with typewritten text do not count.
#37 Journaler's badge: Add journaling to your project to claim a point. A single sentence or very basic description just won't do. You'll need to do a bit of actual journaling for this one.
#38 But Debbie... pastels?: Go on and make Morticia Addams flinch. This challenge requires you to create a page/spread/project that is mostly in pastel shades.

Sorry, AussieMeg, but I think I will have to say the bonus will have to apply to January production only. #39: Start something NEW! It's the new year! Time for new beginnings. Give yourself a point for this challenge for the first page in a new album (even if you traditionally do it this time of year: this does not have to be a never-before-done project, just the first step in your project for this year). And it does not actually have to be the cover page or page one--just the first page you have created for it. Planning to "do" a travel album for that trip you took last year--or any year? Do one page now and earn a point!

#40 Minimalist: For those who embrace the very simple and clean look, take a point if you manage to keep it mostly white and light (except photos) and under three "major" embellishments (not clusters, actual embellishments but stamps, digital stamps/word art, different fonts, enamel dots/Nuvo, splatter, sequins, tiny word stickers and other tiny embellishments don't count).
#41 Behind the door: January is named after the Latin word for 'door' (ianua) and symbolises opening the door to a new space, a fresh beginning. Take a point if you're documenting something to do with doors: cleaning out closets, a pretty door of a building or anything that has to do with your (or someone else's, including touristic places like historical places) interior (focus must be on your interior, not an event taking place inside your home). Views from a window are also accepted. Claim an extra point if you've managed to feature an open door or window.
#42 Borrowing words: Give yourself a point for this challenge if you've included a quote on your project. Famous authors, song lyrics, everyday maxims or something someone you know said are all valid. Needs to be a full sentence (things like "live, laugh, love" or "messy bun, getting things done" don't count) with obvious lenience for lyrical prose and the likes.

#44 - Oldies but goodies - scrap a photo that is over 5 years old, or use a collection/paper that is over 3 years old, for a point.
- 2 points if you do both the photo and the product component
- If you scrap using a collection/paper that is over 5 years old, bonus 1 point.
- And...if you use a collection/paper from an "extinct" company - Basic Grey, KI memories, Scenic Route, Sassafrass, October Afternoon etc - bonus 1 point!

Seems to me that if you want to claim your 2pager as one LO, you could claim a point for 3 photos on the two pages. That would be reasonable b/c area of your 2 pages is less than that of one 12x12 page. BUT then you would lose lots of other points from the 2nd page, the 2nd share, and any other points that double up when you claim 2 pages instead of one. stinkerbelle ? |

I also think just because one person was unhappy about all the challenges in November we shouldn't pander to that. Nobody else complained. I hope no one made any decisions for me because I'm not playing. I think your response is a little harsh toward me as the one who got overwhelmed by all the challenges, but I will try not to take it personally. Anyway, I won't be participating for awhile so no pandering worries necessary. There are 60 challenges this month so doesn't look like I influenced anyone. |
