Thanks, guys! I swear by making up page kits beforehand. It takes me a few hours to assemble but save me a lot more than that come crop time.

and also, I do not think too much about a page, (obviously, I don't allow myself the time, lol.) I empty my packet, decide what papers will be background and what will be accent and I literally just start chopping and layering, with no thought to how or why I am cutting/ layering each piece. Then I push embellishments around, and when I am happy I start gluing. In most cases I never even get it glued down the way I had it in the first place because I forget placement, lol.

You help to prove that nice layouts can be done quickly. I am not surprised you got that many done, not at all. It was fun looking at your layouts; like having a little bit of the Gallery again!

Do you have any trouble getting your pages into page protectors/sleeves? I love the dimension your accents give. I have the one with the sliding arrow you have on your niece's page. I haven't used it yet. Keep those pictures coming - they're fun to look at. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

Thanks, guys! I swear by making up page kits beforehand. It takes me a few hours to assemble but save me a lot more than that come crop time. I don't care what you say - I could never get that many done in one weekend!! I've been preplanning for years and have definitely gotten it down to a science for myself. Still couldn't get 63 done in 3 days. Or 4 for that matter. Oh, who am I kidding - I would need at least a week. I did convert 2 of my resistant pals to the benefits of power layout-ing and while they now admit they wish they had listened to me long ago, they couldn't get that many done either. And yours are beautiful, btw. <bowing down to you a la Wayne & Garth>

Very impressive. I was another thinking they were not going to be as elaborate as they were. How long was your crop again ..weekend long? You were probably averaging 3 layouts per hour. that's unheard of

I like them all, especially the one of your sister's first apartment. I love that blue paper. Did you cut it yourself? Would you share the secret you have for making the kits so that you end up with those fabulous pages? Nancy

Kudos to you....63 is A LOT!!!! I agree with some of the others, the pages are more detailed than I imagined. Do you scrap mostly 1-2 pictures per layout? I'm thinking that helps as it's less time spent on photo placement.

I'm thinking that helps as it's less time spent on photo placement. These were my one photo layouts, which tend to be my favorites. The rest were multi photo two page spreads. On those spreads I usually use 4-5 photos average.

Would you share the secret you have for making the kits so that you end up with those fabulous pages? Nancy No, that was a die cut paper I got somewhere... I never can remember where I get anything, lol. my process: 1) print photos and seperate by layout/ I lay these out on my tables in my scrap area. I then pull any papers/ embellishments I might have purchased specifically for specific photos and place those with the photos. This is the starting point for my kits. 2) I go through my scraps, adding them to kits as my fancy strikes, for layering. 3) go through my 6x6 papers and do the same. 4) now I try to add two full pattern papers or one double sided (which I cut and use both sides when creating page) 5) now I add the appropriate number of background papers, either card stock or complimentary pattern paper. 6) I go through my trims, ribbons, borders and washi tape and add at least one to each kit. 7) I add five-six embellishments, including titles, chipboard, bling, bottoms, flowers, premade things, etc. If I don't have an appropriate title from my embellishments I create one from my letter collection when creating the page. If I have an idea for the title I jot that down and put in kit, otherwise I make it up when cropping. My kits are heavy and generally use all the paper but not neccesarily all the embellishments. They get refilled and used in later kits.
