Just got a cameo, and it looks like it is easier to download images. What say the Peas?

I got it pretty soon after getting my machine and would definitely recommend it. You get some additional very useful features. In addition to being able to import SVG and PDF files, there are extra tools and also the ability to do things like trace by colour and turn designs into pop-ups.
Look around for a good price on the Code. I think the Silhouette sale is over so the Silhouette America price is back to $50 but you can pick it up for $29.99 at Swing Design (includes $10 credit for Silhouette Store), $32.99 from Miss Kate Cuttables (includes $10 worth of free digital downloads from MKC).

This is good to know. I am finally opening up my Silhouette Cameo III--after receiving it a year ago as a gift. I was intimidated with the gadget and didn't feel like learning something new as I was also learning Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign at the time.

Yes, it was definitely worth the one time cost.

Here is a great chart with the differences between all the software. I always recommend upgrading to Silhouette Designer, but you don't really need the plus unless you need those 3 specific features. I may do it for the conical warp one day, but the warp in the regular Design Edition is pretty good.
There are always deals to be had. Don't pay more than 50% off. A quick search showed a lot of download codes for $30 with $10 off in the Design Store, which puts your final price at $20. Pay with PayPal so that you have the protection if you aren't familiar with the site.

Their site doesn't mention the $10 credit. Is that just something that everyone gets when buying the upgrade? never mind-they have it listed both with and without the credit. A google search just took me to the non credit page so I wonder how many people go there from google and don't even know about the credit option. Anyway, it's here.

Yes. I've had it for so long that I forgot what it included (other than importing SVGs) until I looked at the chart!
