I love the ease of ordering, the color matching and the catalogues. Just wondering if anyone uses just exclusively SU for their cards, or any other brand. Thoughts and ideas? Thank you!

Although I like that everything matches or coordinates within a single company's line, I tend to be an equal opportunity scrapper and buy from several different companies.

I buy from whoever has products that I like.
However, lately I have bought mostly Heartfelt Creations. I love their stamps, dies, and papers. I used to buy a lot of Stampin' Up, and then later it was Close to My Heart products that got most of my money, but now it's almost exclusively Heartfelt' products.

I use to but I realized a few months ago it meant I was missing out on so much more that fit what my style was not what someone picked my style to be. Plus they changed the ink pads again and while it was a good change, it was irritating to me as i try to organize and store stamp pads. I miss some of the colors that go away too. Also you can no longer buy individual colors of markers and it never fails one runs out of a set lol! So yes, they have been my go to for over 20 years mainly because of ease, coordination, and classes but I stumbled on some other inks and stamp companies and a world of possibilities opened up and I feel excited again to stamp!

The majority of my cardmaking is SU. I do buy other companies' stamps occasionally, but most of my stamps and dies, and all of my ink, cardstock, and embellishments are SU. At one point I started buying Simon Says Stamp ink pads, but I found I never used them because I really like SU's colour palette, and I have their matching cardstock, so I really didn't want to have to start buying a whole line of another brand, as well. I like getting the new SU in-colours every year to keep things fresh, but it still all co-ordinates.
For my scrapbooking I use every brand available, I love them all.

I have one company for matching inks and card stock. Beyond that, it's a free for all! I love too many styles of stamps and dies to limit myself to a single company.

For about two years I bought lots of Papertrey Ink. Now a lot of that stuff looks so one dimensional and dated. I’ve purged about half of it and no longer buy from them. Their stamp and die sets had great sentiment fonts though so I keep those sets just for the fonts. This didn’t happen with my MFT, Altenew, WPlus9 or any of the other companies I bought from. They still look fresh.

I tried to because sometimes I have trouble meeting my quota and figured I should use my budget only for SU. Then I joined a stamping group on fb and saw all the other possibilities out there.

I started out with cardmaking again in 2007-2008 with SU but after a while got bored with the catalogue and limited products compared to what else is available from the myriad of manufacturers out there.

I'm another that used to be SU! Only for my cardmaking. But after awhile all their stuff looks similar and even their "new" color offerings are just a slight variation on a current color. Add to that, their products cost more, a lot more than other companies when you factor in shipping/taxes. There is so much more out there for better prices in my opinion.

I used to be very matchy matchy. But for the past 5 years or so I'm more about mixing and matching. I'd rather have things be coordinated instead of matching. I no longer buy matching ink and paper from the same company unless I just really love the color.
I have gotten more into the best ink for me and what I do and the best cardstock for me. I love Gina K's cardstock but don't have any of her inks. I have a lot of Altenews ink for layering, but none of their cardstock. So many of the colors coordinate so well between the companies that I don't feel the need to stick with one company any more. I love the diversity of mixing and matching.

Nah, I'm a total opportunist and my collection is as mongrel as it gets. Getting things to look good together is half the fun. I never stick within a given brand, let alone collection. That's too easy and the end result tends to look commercial. I'm spending time and effort to make it, so why would I want it ending up looking like something off a retail shelf?

I'm mostly SU, and am a demo. But if there are other stamps or dies that I see and love, I purchase them if I can (and think I need them).

I tend to buy from several different companies for stamps, dies, and paper. I also have inks from several different Stamp companies though the majority are from SU. I tend to go in cycles with SU- when I have a demonstrator I buy a lot and when the demonstrator quits SU I focus on other stamp companies. Since my last SU demonstrator quit, I have been less interested in their products. One reason is because of the last color redo and Stamp pad change. Although I have a few of the new ink pads, I’m not as jazzed with them as I thought I’d be. They are ok. For now I guess I’m In another off-cycle with SU.

I love Stampin Up. I wish I knew about them when I was younger. I am not a demo or even have a demo. I really love their products.
I think if you are a beginner stamper and really confused about the amount of info in the stamping world SU is such a good start. You can build a lovely supply of stash that will last for many, many, many years. I am frugal. I follow a lot of frugal blogs. I see a lot of the frugal stampers started with SU and they still have their supplies. Those supplies are still going strong. They built a good stash so when they are ready to move on they can make purchases frugally. That's my favorite thing about SU. I really like the girls who have SU demo's through their churches because those girls seem to make out like bandits when making purchases, lol.
I have been stamping since the 70's. My supplies were pretty limited. It wasn't until I got into my thirties I found out about Stampin Up or the vast stamping world. I wanted to learn it all. I got so much conflicting information. I bought so much stupid and wrong stuff. That's why I say SU is good for a beginner because if I knew better I would have started with them and then built up to other companies slowly. If I went with SU in the first place I wouldn't have had a bunch of stupid stuff but my nice classic items. For example I got a lot of bad info about inks when I started. If I stuck with SU I would probably been a lot choosier with my other ink brands. I am still using my SU ink pads but have donated a lot of other company ink pads over the years.
Another thing I look through their catalog. I will want the Stamparatus, for example. I see they are also carrying watercolor paper. I am not going to buy the watercolor paper because I will purchase that at my art store. I like that I have the catalog to make those kind of decisions. I also use the catalog to make informed tool decisions. I would not buy the Crop-A-Dile from SU because I can use a coupon and get it from Hobby Lobby for example.
Stamps on the other hand I want to buy from a variety of companies. I do love Stampin Up stamps. A lot of time their stamps are not my style. I own less than a dozen of SU stamps. Granted, they are some of my most favorite stamps in the world but if I didn't buy from other companies I would only have a dozen stamps, lol.
I love SU for supplies and tools. I think their supplies are updated but what I like to call classic trends. It takes a lot of confusion and guesswork away. I know I am going to have it for years. I spend less than $100 on SU items a year but keep them forever.

I spend less than $100 on SU items a year but keep them forever. I agree with everything you've said. I will always have a love for SU because they made stamps, etc. accessible to me, without being overwhelming. They came to Canada in 2003 and I learned so much about cardmaking from them. I got great basics - a lot of which I still own and use - and had a great community to make cards, etc. with. I now buy Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, etc. stamps and dies in addition to SU but have some SU sets that are 10-15 years old that I'll never get rid of. Just like Creative Memories got me into scrapbooking - and even though they had their problems I will always look back at those early years with fond memories - SU got me into cardmaking and will always have a place in my craftroom. But again, I stick to their cardstock, inks, and embellishments because otherwise my collecting will get too out of control, and they update it enough to stay fresh.

I started out with only SU but my style changed and now I mostly use Lawn Fawn, MFT, and Mama Elephant. I love mixing and matching different inks and papers.
