Downton Abbey is an upcoming British historical period drama film, written by Julian Fellowes and directed by Michael Engler. It is a continuation of the television series of the same name, created by Fellowes, that ran on ITV from 2010 to 2015. The film is scheduled to be released on 13 September 2019 in the United Kingdom and one week later in the United States on 20 September.
--We saw trailers for it in the theater today. ...a bit early, IMO.

We sometimes see trailers for movies over a year away from the release date. I love seeing the trailer, just the music itself makes my heart happy..

I agree cadoodlebug The music made me super happy! I've been re-watching the show. I like having it on while I make cards or work a puzzle. Just the sounds are pleasing. I'll definitely do a solid re-watch of Season 6 before the movie comes out. That will be a nice Fall treat for sure. |

I told my British god-son I’d beat him over the head with a wet noodle if he spoiled the movie for me. He very sweetly told me I’d have to climb a ladder to reach his head anyway, and an ocean separates us anyway.  Yes, just hearing the music makes me happy. So excited to see it on the big screen! |

I so very much hope it is not a failure the way so many "return" movies are...recent Mary Poppins for example.
Often the story is over and someone wants a sequel and it just goes poorly. I don't want this one ruined.
