Oh and they have named the GOP members of the House Intelligence Committee.. didn't get rid of Nunes though!! ** Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Wednesday announced the names of Republican members who will serve on the House Intelligence Committee, which will allow the panel to become constituted and be ready for business. The new GOP addition to the committee is Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas), a former federal prosecutor who also serves on the House Judiciary Committee. Rep. Devin Nunes (D-Calif.), who previously chaired the committee, will stay on as ranking member. And GOP Reps. Mike Conaway (Texas), Brad Wenstrup (Ohio), Mike Turner (Ohio), Chris Stewart (Utah), Rick Crawford (Ark.), Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), and Will Hurd (Texas) will all also remain on the committee. ** thehill.com/policy/national-security/427733-gop-announces-new-members-to-intel-panel-allowing-committee-to

I am gobsmacked that I'm watching this in the US in 2019...

it's me and other people glad to be rid of Walker. haha-- I won't disagree with this, at all! and I'm sure my sister won't, either. But it sucks for all the concessions, etc. that were given to the company, and that now they're scaling back so much of what they're going to be doing. (what're old Scotty and Paul going to do with themselves now, anyway, now that they can't f--- up things in the state any longer? )

”Just concluded a great meeting with my Intel team in the Oval Office who told me that what they said on Tuesday at the Senate Hearing was mischaracterized by the media - and we are very much in agreement on Iran, ISIS, North Korea, etc. Their testimony was distorted press....”
”....I would suggest you read the COMPLETE testimony from Tuesday. A false narrative is so bad for our Country. I value our intelligence community. Happily, we had a very good meeting, and we are all on the same page!”
Well considering we heard what these folks had to say in a public hearing...

As a Christian these folks infuriate me. I, too, on some level am influenced by my faith in how I do my job. But I don't mean it in the way that these jerks do, or in a way that you would find offensive. My faith influences me in the sense of my belief in a call to love others... Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly. It's because of my faith that I support things like marriage equality & safe access to abortion, not in spite of it.

As a sidenote, what does everyone think of Chris Christie's booktour?? At first I believed he was giving some inside dirt on Trump. The more shows I saw him on, the more I was convinced that he's just the newest mouthpiece for the Trump team! Notice Guilianni hasn't been speaking too much? Now we have Christie giving tiny barbs about how Trump should have been aware where Flynn was concerned (since he told him), and Christie seems to have it in for Jared (no surprise since he jailed Jared's criminal dad), but he's speaking too kindly about Trump and is in full support of Trump and his agenda! NO.THANKS!

Frankly, I think it’s a brilliant solution for him to just lie and say it’s done. OMG wow did I just say that? Never thought I’d validate and approve the president lying. Scary

”Largest fentanyl bust in history. Border Patrol seized enough fentanyl to kill 57 MILLION people.
That’s more than the population of Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Minnesota, and Iowa. COMBINED.”

“It came through a legal port of entry in a tractor-trailer. No wall involved.”

NO.THANKS! I watched a bit of his interview with Fox's Laura Ingraham last night. He seemed like he was pathetically gunning (the only person in the world) for a job in the administration. And then I thought how perfect he would be--another crooked politician (a la NJ traffic lane closure scandal) in this fill the swamp presidency.

You mean the drugs came through where the experts and drug lords told us they did? Weird. Next I bet you’re going to try and tell me that the majority of our illegal immigrants don’t come illegally through the southern border and haven’t for years.

Who knew? Not I........... What Pakistan gets right and the US gets wrong on trans rightsBy Shamus Khan and Joss Greene Updated 4:19 PM ET, Thu January 31, 2019 (CNN)The Trump administration is considering a policy that is arguably the most significant federal attack on civil and political rights in at least a generation, one which, the New York Times reports, would define 1.4 million transgender Americans "out of existence." The Department of Health and Human Services is leading an effort to legally define gender under Title IX as a "biological, immutable condition, determined by genitalia at birth," removing federal recognition and thereby rights and protections for those who identify as a gender other than the one they were assigned at birth. ** The truth is other countries are several steps ahead of us. In 2004, England passed the Gender Recognition Act to allow transgender people to change their legal gender. England was followed by Spain in 2007 and Uruguay in 2009. In 2012, Argentina passed what the New Yorker's Jonathan Blitzer dubbed "the most progressive gender-identity law in the world," allowing individuals to change their name or gender in public registries without a doctor or judge's approval and guaranteeing free access to hormones and gender-reassignment surgery. And, in 2015, Colombia passed a similar law that allowed citizens to change their legal name and gender marker by simply appearing before a notary public. ** In short, Pakistan is extending the full protection of rights to trans people as equal citizens.
Many of Pakistan's Muslim clerics have supported this legislation. Fifty signed a fatwa in 2016 in favor of trans people, declaring, "It is permissible for a transgender person with male indications on his body to marry a transgender person with female indications on her body. ... Also, normal men and women can also marry such transgender people..." ** www.cnn.com/2019/01/31/opinions/united-states-pakistan-transgender-rights-khan-greene/index.htmlThe whole article is worth a read.
