I heard an interview with Schultz last week and he said that even if he doesn’t have any political experience he knows many smart, talented people who would help him run the country. Sound familiar? Um, no. We do not need another rank amateur running the country.

Lots of #MAGA folks whining about lower/no refunds on their taxes - some even after making w/h changes.
I think we've only just begun to hear about this. Give it a few weeks.

Another example of elections have consequences.
NBC News
“Trump administration will roll back Obama-era restrictions on payday lenders”
“We urge Director Kraninger to reconsider, as her current plan will keep families trapped in predatory, unaffordable debt,” one consumer advocate said.
A federal banking agency announced Wednesday that it plans to roll back Obama-era restrictions on payday and vehicle title loans — a lending practice that many experts consider to be predatory.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau proposed rescinding the rule that required lenders who provided “Payday, Vehicle Title, and Certain High-Cost Installment Loans” to make an effort to find out whether borrowers could afford to pay back the loan.
The Trump administration's effort to rescind the rule came after the director appointed by President Barack Obama, Richard Cordray, departed the agency and was replaced by Mick Mulvaney, who now serves as Acting White House Chief of Staff.
The CFPB argued in a statement that the agency believed rescinding the rule and not requiring lenders to underwrite their loans would increase consumers' access to credit.
“The Bureau is concerned that these provisions would reduce access to credit and competition in states that have determined that it is in their residents’ interests to be able to use such products, subject to state-law limitations,” the agency said in its statement.

I said this was going to happen months ago when his “tax break” was being bandied about! I’m sure trump will say that they are “very fine patriots” or some other patronizing trite bullshit.

Yep, our refund is significantly lower than last year. I know a lot of working class people who absolutely depend on their tax refund to cover necessary expenses or use it to pay for some kind of indulgence for themselves or their family. It's like their version of a holiday bonus. And some of them are Trump supporters. I'm curious how they will react. I think since it's affecting their wallets maybe they won't be quite so far up the president's ass come early springtime. We haven’t done our taxes yet, but I am worried. We generally try to break even, we had extra withheld each month, but I do worry it won’t be enough. Hopefully this will generate enough ire that people will start to wake up? Maybe? Hopefully? Probably not.

What is on trump’s mind this morning?
”So now Congressman Adam Schiff announces, after having found zero Russian Collusion, that he is going to be looking at every aspect of my life, both financial and personal, even though there is no reason to be doing so. Never happened before! Unlimited Presidential Harassment....”
“The Dems and their committees are going “nuts.” The Republicans never did this to President Obama, there would be no time left to run government. I hear other committee heads will do the same thing. Even stealing people who work at White House! A continuation of Witch Hunt!”
And then an hour later..
”PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT! It should never be allowed to happen again!”
Definition Of Congressional oversight: PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT!

The overton window has shifted. Glory!
A billion is a staggering amount of money. You could spend $1000 every hour of your life for 80 years and still have $300 MILLION left over. And that's not including interest at a modest 4% which means you die w/billions more than you started. $1,000,000,000 invested at 4% over 80 years compounded annually nets you $23,049,799,069.87

Setting up a company to profit off the "inside track" on White House access. Totes normal, y'all.
(I want to throw up every time I think of poor Jimmy Carter having to divest himself of his farm to avoid appearances of conflicts of interest.)
"The investment firm founded by the chairman of Donald Trump’s inaugural committee, Tom Barrack, developed a plan to profit off its connections to the incoming administration and foreign dignitaries, according to a confidential memo obtained by WNYC and ProPublica.
“The key is to strategically cultivate domestic and international relations while avoiding any appearance of lobbying,” the memo says. Colony, which primarily invests in real estate, sought to capitalize on its access to the White House to get an early lead on infrastructure investments and to attract assets from potential investors. "

Probably not. We ended up paying thousands more in federal (almost 1/2 less refund) and owing $1000 to state (meaning writing a check to pay them) in past years we usually received a refund from state up towards $500, and owing local $700 (used to break even or owe/receive under $75) —-every single expense deduction we have been able to take in all the previous years if my adult working life are gone. This administration once again, was NEVER EVER for the people it serves.

Probably not. I'm worried, too. We usually have to pay or we break even. Last year there was a calculator somewhere online and it said that we should get $13,000 back under the new plan. I doubted that, but was hoping that we would at least not have to pay in. I'm not as hopeful about that anymore.

And to think Commerce Secretary Ross told the furloughed Fed employees to seek LOANS........ Class act! #bebest Finally some numbers that show Trump really is the best at something. I do like that colorful so spot on chart of dt's winning!! We haven’t done our taxes yet, but I am worried. We generally try to break even, we had extra withheld each month, but I do worry it won’t be enough. Hopefully this will generate enough ire that people will start to wake up? Maybe? Hopefully? MIL used to get offers all the time to help find her own daughter’s family when they went out in public, assuming she was lost. I can’t imagine how hurtful the accusation of trafficking must have been.

When he was very young, an older woman asked friend if the baby was adopted. I don’t think the woman had bad intentions but it was a little surprising for friend to be asked that.

Buying the presidency - thanks, Donald. Just another bragging right at the club or the speaking circuit. No legislative, no governmental executive experience. Just lots of money to buy lots of the press. Trump may have 'bought' it with help from his friend, Putin. BIG difference here is that Trump WAS NOT a billionaire--just a con man SOB, pretending to be extremely wealthy! NOW he's most likely a billionaire since he took office and has been able to take so many bribes!!

Second Nexus...
”REPORT: Nogales, Arizona City Council Passes Resolution Threatening to Sue Federal Government If Razor Concertina Wire Installed on the Border Wall Is Not Removed”
I suspect we will see a lot of this. It’s one thing for those far away from the border to think a wall is a good idea. But they forget or ignore what the reality of the wall is for those who live along the border. I suspect if it was in their neighborhood it would become “not in my backyard “ for a lot who now support the wall.

I hope they get somewhere with the lawsuit, if it comes to that, and that they remove it. The photos are just appalling... and it's not as if we have a 'no man's land' of space between our border and Mexico, where people aren't allowed to go, or anything like that. Just having coils of razor wire on a fence where people LIVE and WALK has got to be violating all sorts of federal / state safety regulations and building code regulations, doesn't it? Or does one branch of government get to just ignore regulations written by another branch of another government as long as they can say it's done for 'national security' (which we ALL know is a crock of BS, anyway) reasons?
