it almost sounds like a steal considering what it was listed for in 2017.

I love them both. Except some of the art in the Washington house is creepy.

Here's the most expensive in my 'hood. Newport BeachNote how little land compared to the other homes! Finally! Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a property with room for my 120' yacht? I really do like this property but feel like there would be no privacy when using the patios.

Wow, is that ever expensive for 7,000 sq. ft. My neighbor's house is 9,900 sq. ft. on the water and 1 acre for just over $1M. I can't imagine that house costing that much. Wow!

I haven't looked over the others but the first one in N.Y. that is priced for 48 million-wow that is a lot! For 48 million I'd rather buy a small island somewhere warm like in the Caribbean, the South Pacific or somewhere like that. My own island with beautiful beaches, clean turquoise blue water and healthy coral, and I'd build a wonderful house on it-a nice modest house-not a huge mansion-something I could take care of easily like myself. Something really comfortable that I'd love.
I'd like to be a day's sail away from another island that had grocery stores, a great modern hospital, a huge local library, a hardware store and boat store-you've got to have the basics covered right?
That's how I'd rather spend 48 million instead of on a house like the one that's selling in Mantouck, (spelling?) N.Y.
Now to go back and see the other listings.

I love these threads too! Just for fun I googled " most expensive house Melbourne" and came up with a few: This one held the record when it was sold for a paltry $26 million in 2016. Then this one was sold for $40 million in 2017. Then last year the record was broken again by this house, which sold for $52 million. Then there is this one currently for sale for between $45 to $50 million. It's in the next street to where I worked until a few months ago, and I used to walk past it often. Sooooooo many gorgeous houses in that suburb, a mix of old houses from the late 1800's to brand new modern mansions. According to the article, there are plenty of houses in the Toorak that could sell for $70 million if they were for sale. This includes a mansion that I actually went inside the house many many years ago when I worked for the telephone company (the second one down in this link). One of the technicians had to go and install a new phone system and he took me with him just for fun. The house was amazing, but the decor - oh my!! He had hideous bright orange drapes, and leopard print bedding, it was all so over the top. Then of course there is the first house in the same link, which is said to be worth $100 million. INSANE!!!!

Beautiful house, but the proximity to the cliffs puts me off making an offer. It looks like a couple of storms would cause erosion that would put the house at risk, and I wouldn’t like to flush my money down the proverbial toilet. No off to click the other links........

this is the most expensive house currently for sale in toronto... bridlepath house
it's umm, subtle?? bridlepath is neighbourhood in north where drake is building his new house. personally, i'd go with this one... rosedale house
the have kept many of the classic feature of the home but lightened and brightened it up. this one is a stone's throw from city centre. see, i am not unreasonable, i just saved $20,000,000!

Okay, took a look at the others Peas have posted. The Washington State house that is for sale for 45 million. I liked this one the best. I love all of the glass, especially in the shots where you have nature outside but I'd hate to have to clean all of it too. And if it isn't clean it looks terrible. So you'd have to have the money to hire help to take care of that. Some of the art would certainly have to go like that clown painting in the LR. Why on earth would you hang a clown painting that was popular in the 1950's in the same room that you'd hang a Madonna and Child Renaissance painting? The styles clash so much. I guess to each his own when it comes to art. Newport Beach house for 59 million. I don't care for this one at all. To me it looks like a big commercial building that was squeezed in where it could be. Inside it's even worse. It feels so cold, especially that entrance where the master stairway is. The cold feeling for me and the distaste could be from the furnishings, flooring choices and wall coverings. I really do not like it. And for very close to 60 million, I think it was 59,995 million think of the tiny island I could buy for that! Telluride, Colorado for 29 million. Love the outside although the pond looks too small for the house-it looks unbalanced. Inside is okay too, but still too expensive for me and in the wrong area. I hate the cold. Didn't see the last two because I wrote most of this last night. I love the Bridal Path house! I'd replace the indoor furnishings (I know they match the style of the house but I don't care for them), and I love that it has an indoor pool. The only factor it has going against it is that again it's in a cold area. Would be really nice to be able to lift it up and move it somewhere warmer.
