that you can order thousands of items from Amazon and get them delivered as soon as the next day, but a part for your five year old Kenmore Elite ( made by LG) fridge takes two weeks for delivery? I've been without a fridge for more than a week already and the repairman comes back February 2.

That is not a fun fact. Sorry you had to learn it, and about your fridge.

I am aware of that fun fact as it took me a long time to get the parts for my dryer. I don't think I could wait for the refrigerator parts. I can't believe you can't get them sent overnight for some ridiculous charge. have you ever tried looking for them online? Some places can get them to overnight

You have far more patience than I do! I would have been going totally nuts after about the third day.

get a large tray and go to the ice house and purchase a big block of ice (or a big bag if you can't find blocks). Put the ice on the try and place on bottom shelf of your refrigerator. Voila, you have an ice chest. just don't open the door but a couple timess a day . We like that for six months overseas on Guam when the typhoon took out the electricity for that long.
I sorry you are having to deal with this. It sucks big time.

My in-laws did the tray with ice thing but my husband didn't want to deal with it. A friend offered to drive two hours to bring us a dorm fridge and we even checked Facebook for a cheapy fridge. Our solution is a borrowed Yeti cooler in the patio. We're empty nesters and have no kids visiting so we're just eating out a little more frequently. We could barely find someone to work on the LG fridge. I called a couple of local repairmen and they referred me to Sears repair. All very weird. And it was still under a little bit of warranty. I think it will end up costing about $500.

I had that issue with a dishwasher part. It took about a week and a half.
Oddly, I could have ordered the part on Amazon with 2 day shipping, but I needed the repairman to do the fix.
