Your brother had a very sad life, but none of it, not even one second of it was your fault. This is on your dad, not you. It's so unfair that his life was so cruel only to be over so soon. Please don't let guilt be your guiding feeling, because your brother's circumstance was due to other forces. Since you didn't grow up together, having a relationship even as adults is challenging. That your brother had big problems probably isolated him from you, as well.
It's hard to grieve a disconnected relationship, because your feelings must be all over the place. Just know that you're not alone and let people who love you help you sort through this period of loss and healing.
May your brother's memory be for a blessing. ((((HUGS)))).

I am so sorry for your loss, and for his. I think there is some comfort when a loved one lives a long and happy life, but when that's not the case it makes the loss that much more difficult. Sending lots of healing thoughts your way.

So sorry to hear this. (((((Hugs)))) while you work through your memories and your grief. Will there be a funeral or memorial service? Will you be able to attend? Maybe a small memorial service. My dad hasn't decided what he wants to do exactly, but I gave him the money to do what he feels best will honor him. I live in the same city, so I'll attend whatever we do for him. |
