maribeth you have been BUSY! I hope to go back later and leave love in the Gallery for each of your creations. Are they in the LOAD gallery too? I have been posting some of my pages over there, when I can meet their prompt as well as one of our own for 28-4-28. Temps still in the -30's here. As long as the furnace works it's just like any other day for me. Pets are safe in the garage, and so is my vehicle if I need to go anywhere, which I don't today. My physio appointment was cancelled for yesterday (it was a make up for Tuesday's class which was cancelled due to weather). Not sure what they will do tomorrow if the low temps persist. Coming from old farm families, we have a stock of essential supplies here that would rival a bomb shelter. My kids say if there is ever a natural disaster they are coming here . I have to finish a page to face the button one from yesterday before I link both to the challenges share thread, and might make a start on my sample for NEXT Friday (will be away from Monday to Thursday, so need to be prepared). I also want to take on Linda's DREAM prompt, but not sure that will happen today. I have my sample ready for tomorrow, and--spoiler alert--I am lifting one of the POKEYS!

Hi, maribeth ! So nice to see you! Great job on all the layouts. You are so dedicated to do LOAD. I hoped to keep up with 28-4-28, but am 2 days behind now. I have one ready to glue together. I just can't scrap that fast. You are a trooper. grammadee , if we have a natural disaster, I'm heading straight north to your farm too! LOL. It's a good feeling to have storage for emergencies, isn't it. I hope you get lots of scrap time today. I don't know how you keep up with all you do. LisaDV , your "easy" day sounds like a lot of tasks accomplished. That's as helpful as huge, back-breaking ones. I'm glad you are getting a lot of both of those things done. patin , I saw your layouts on the sharing thread, and will go take a good look at them in the gallery. I love seeing our Pokeys scrapping and sharing. I had to go to the dentist this am to have a 40 year old filling removed and replaced. Who knew they didn't last forever??? My tongue is still numb so I talk funny. I hope this new filling lasts as long as I do! LOL I hope maribeth won't mind my sharing, but she and I get to meet IN PERSON in a few weeks when she comes for a Scrap Retreat! Doesn't that sound great? I am so excited. We will get to have lunch and do a lot of chatting.

maribeth, you’ve been busy. You’ve created such beautiful pages. grammadee, lol. We rival the bomb shelter as well. We have friends who say if things get bad they’d come to us. When it’s 40 minutes to real shopping, it’s best to have a supply on hand. It’s fresh produce that gets me. Not sure how I’ll be in the new house. Stay in and warm! nylene, that’s a good reminder. Thanks. Now I don’t feel so guilty. Good luck on 28-4-28. I’m hoping to do a few but not even going to pretend I’ll get them all. How exciting to meet maribeth in person!! I’m up for replacing my fillings. They use material now to match your teeth instead of that old silver/gray stuff. I hope you’re taking the afternoon to recovery by scrapping. I signed up for the crop here in March this morning and proceeded to tell Don I needed the weekend. He always pretends that he’s 100% on board, but he really isn’t. I think being the only responsible adult scares him a bit still. And usually when a kid says their hungry, he says me too, I’ll have whatever you’re making. 😂 Good thing I taught my kids to cook. I didn’t tell him I was going back to the farm for the weekend as that might suddenly mean work travel over the weekend. I’ll spring that on him closer to time. Is it weird that I’m already excited!!!?? I know a few of the pokeys have already signed up but for the rest it’s in the general scrap board section. I’ll try to link when I’m back at the computer

You all don't even know how excited I am to share lunch and visit with nylene. I think I am going to try some of the 28-4-28 challenges. Looks like fun.

Good Friday morning, Pokeys! How exciting that you will be able to get together, nylene and maribeth ! I love that we can get to know each other in cyber space, but meeting in person would be VERY special! Speaking of cyber space, I think the crop LisaDV is talking about is the online crop sleepingbooty is setting up for the second weekend in March. 2Peas on line March Mega Crop Guess it is the 3rd weekend (the weekend of the 15th). I am signed up. Hope a lot of the Pokeys can join in as well. So will you arrange to have one of your houses all to yourself for that weekend, LisaDV ? I am so jealous if you are. It would be lovely to send dh off to retired husband camp for two or three days... I am on hold with the Satellite dish provider. The monthly bill had been creeping up last year until I called and had them reduce it. Now it is gradually slipping up again (over $25 per month more than I had negotiated) so now I am hoping to talk them down again. Will see. Dh and I watch completely different programming, so it's hard to reduce the number of channels. Later I am venturing into town. Still pretty cold, but I have a physio appointment, and need to put a gift in the mail for my dgs whose bd is later this month. Also got a notice that I should have a parcel at the post office with my January February kits from Scrapbooking Fanatics! I ordered glue cartridges from them, so really hoping I can pick that parcel up today. Just put the last cartridge in the handle this morning when I made dgs's bd card. Ok Gotta get dressed and on the road...

Yes, I’ll have a house to myself. I was going to get rid of the internet at the farm in March but think I’ll wait now. I hope physio goes well. maribeth, hope you can get out early and get to crafting. Off to administer a test.

Happy Friday! Hope your day is a good one. I haven't been feeling that great but hope this weekend is better. Not much going on here and that's ok. I guess down time is good. I have my craft area cleared for some new art. I saw a You Tube video of poured paint art and must try it.
Congrats to you ladies!!!! You have really been scrapping! Bravo! I have to check them out.
joyfulnana woodysbetty- That Superbowl was brutal to watch and I had to detach so I wouldn't be to hurt. LOL! But it was a great season and hope next year is a good one too.
grammadee- HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!! I hope you were able to get out and do some of the fun things you wanted. Blessing on your new year, friend!!!
nylene- I haven't been to the craft group the last two weeks but hope to make it out next week. How's your weather? We are sunny but cold. I was just telling Ron and think this is the most consecutive cold days we have had in a while. He wants to get some gloves and I do too.
LisaDV- Your poor doggy! I am not a fan of thunderstorms either. I think I would of been snugged up in my bed too. Hope the new house is coming along.
Waving Hi to all you Peas. Have a super evening!

Hi Everyone!! Wow, watching the layout posts is so exciting!! Loving the colors, the speed, and awesome creative flow!! You all have been super busy! Our internet at the rental is a bit sporadic so I am and in and out!! Why is it no matter where you are, how much you pay or which provider - cable and direct TV is expensive and sporadic!! Yikes!! But I am looking forward to the online fun in March!! I am thinking about all of you in the chilly places and hope you are getting a little reprieve from the cold!! looking forward to your scrafting maribeth and hearing about your fun with nylene. That sounds awesome!! LisaDV you work so hard so I'm glad you are plotting for a quiet scrap space!! Happy Belated Birthday grammadee stay warm and hope your package made it!! Fortunately kellyr21 there is always next season...I follow the Redskins ( my Pop and watched together as a kid in NYC) so I get hopeful!! LOL! Well off to yoga class then to check building progress and find some furniture possibilities...good thing yoga is first!! Hugs and warm wishes to all!!

maribeth, you are really on a roll. I can't keep up with one page a day, but these challenges really do keep me scrapping all month. Just too many photos and ideas and too little time! kellyr21, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you can get together with your crafty friends this week. Our weather is cold and snowy, with big snow coming this week. My DGD and husband are in your area right now, their first trip ever to Disneyland. They were glad to leave the cold weather behind for a few days. woodysbetty, having undependable internet is so hard. I hope it gets better. How are the house plans going? LisaDV, I am glad you are going to have some time and space to yourself to do some scrapping. Your family will appreciate you that much more when you are all back together again. I had to laugh at your DH not cooking. My DH can heat things in the microwave, but that's about it. My kids cooked also, but they have all left home! patin, I am enjoying your Disney layouts. Those are my favorite to scrap. I have a few photos left that DD sent me from their trips. They get in free because DSIl works for Pixar, so they go in Feb every year. I hope she sends me a few this year too. @elaynef, you are really scrapping! I love your layouts and get good ideas for 8.5x11. justlisa7, msliz, and joyfulnana, I hope you are getting some time to scrap this weekend. justjac, your layouts are always so creative. I love the shoe one. Left you love in the gallery. grammadee, you are keeping up with 28-4-28 so well. I hope you got some help with your internet bill. It irritates me that the bill keeps creeping up, but when you call and say you are switching to another provider, they can suddenly cut it down considerably. My DSIL loves bargaining with them so we let him get ours lowered every couple of years. I am not as patient as he is. I'm hoping to get a little scrapping done later tonight or after church tomorrow. I'm about 3 days behind on 28-4-28. I hope you are all tucked in nice and warm and getting some scrapping or scrafting time!

Made a card today for my best friend who is in a nursing home. We have been friends since we were 10 years old, went to college together, but life has had us in different cities since then.
Anyway, she has been sick for a while with heart failure. She stayed with me for a few weeks last winter, but was able to go home and stay by herself until now. She has been back and forth between a nursing home and hospital for several weeks. And not able to talk on the phone much. She has a daughter, who is looking after her, but we are not in contact.
She was able to call this weekend and she is back in the nursing home and doing a little better. I didn't know where she was until then. I just prayed for her and tried to stay calm.
We have been texting every day, but the wi fi in the nursing home is not strong enough for her to text there with her flip phone. We really miss that. I would like to send her a smart phone and I'm trying to decide if that is something I should do. I would pay the bill and I'm not sure she would even be able to use it.
So, I've told my story because, I would like to send her a card every day. I made one today and thought of all the beautiful cards I got from you all at Christmas and birthday and wondered if someone might like to send me a card that you don't need. I know it's a big ask, and if it doesn't happen, I totally understand.
I am not a good card maker but I'm going to try to come up with something every day for her. Here is the one I made this morning....kind of a valentine. Thanks, yall for listening to my story! And thanks if you can do a good deed for a pokey friend!
my address is in the birthday card message list or I will pm it to you. Elayne Frasure

What a lovely thing to do for your friend, @elaynef! Your card is lovely, and I think that as you make more of them you will find them easier to put together.
I'd love to build some cards for you, but today we are driving to the city for dh's medical appointment tomorrow. One of his stents is partially blocked, so they plan to try to clear it out tomorrow. We will be in a hotel tonight, then he goes to his appointment in the morning. Afterward, if all goes as it did the last time, I will need to take him back to the hotel where he will have to stay lying down for the rest of the afternoon and evening, then see the doctor on Wednesday morning before we come home.
I will try to put together a kit to take with me, so that I can make a few cards for you while I am hanging out in the hotel room, but I wont' be able to put them into the mail until probably Friday. Maybe I will package up the cards with the remainder of the kit so you will be able to use the rest of the pieces.

I have some store bought cards and lots of stash to make my own so whatever else happens is a bonus! I actually don't mind making cards, but the ones I got on birthday and Christmas from you all were so beautiful, and I enjoyed them so much and showed them to everyone....I thought she might enjoy them almost as much as me! I will definitely tell her who made them.I just talked to her again on the phone and she sounded good.

Hi there! I feel like I fell off the grid lol. Got some pages done, just need to take pictures and get them posted. And I've started the stocking over 3 times now. I finally gave up for now, I will pick it up again in a few weeks. Still having lots of ice and rain that then freezes overnight. It seems like the weather is never going to clear up or warm up. woodysbetty I feel the same way when I talk to people that think 50 is cold. I would loves some 40's right now! LisaDV congrats on the new fridge and pots! We had a thunderstorm here the other night too. Lots of big thunder and lightening. justlisa7 - how's the spending freeze going? I have been really fighting the urge to shop the last week or so. But I honestly can't find anything I want bad enough to buy it lol. Beautiful layouts maribeth! Wow you've been busy! I wish I could get pages done more quickly. That's awesome that you and nylene will get to meet in person! I hope you are talking ok now nylene lol grammadee - Happy belated - very belated -Birthday! I hope DH does ok getting the stent cleared. You have been very busy this month too! I love seeing everyone's creations. It's so inspiring! @elyanef I'm sorry about your friend, but that's so sweet that you want to send her a card everyday. I know I really enjoyed the cards I got from the peas at Christmas time. I'm going to go leave some love and hope to get some decent pictures tomorrow so I can finally post something! It's been forever! Hope everyone is having an awesome start to the week!! Waving hi to everyone!

Attempted the tone on tone challenge yesterday, but was a fail. Might try a different approach today.
I'm enjoying and getting inspiration from all your layouts and learning about the things you do. I'm a little out of the loop since I never have taken any classes or had any friends who scrapbook.
Made another card for my friend this morning. Used a pic from a Thomas Kindcaid book I got at a garage sale for making cards. One of my dd collects his paintings and I've made several cards for her from it. Inside has a blank page where I wrote her a note.

joyfulnana, you haven't fallen off the grid. We all get busy and have spurts when we can't get here. I'm sorry you have had such trouble with your stocking. I think I'd give up because I am a lousy knitter anyway. I'm glad you are persevering even if you have put it on hold. grammadee, you and your DH are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope things go perfectly and that you can go back to the hotel to rest. You have had your hands full. @elaynef, I am loving all your layouts. I get great ideas from your 8.5x11 art. What a kind thing to do for your friend. I am sure I have some upbeat cards that I would love to send you. I'll check it out. Your Thomas Kindcaid card is really pretty. maribeth, you are a scrapping machine. I don't know how you keep up with a layout a day. The challenges here do keep me scrapping, but I am always behind. I'm looking forward to our lunch!! I have to run get Alex and take him to school. His poor mom is sick and the weather is too ugly for her to go out. BBL
