We are an early 50s couple looking for a restful and relaxing beach vacation. Love the beach!
No foam parties, toga parties, exercises or dancing around the pool etc. đ
We sometimes like to chill around a pool so prefer a resort with multiple smaller pools. Or at least a couple of really big pools so not as crowded.
Quality evening entertainment is not necessary, we are fine with enjoying drinks at a bar, but we do enjoy good food.
4.5 or 5 stars. Pricing is difficult as we typically like to go all inclusive with flight for about $2500 Canadian per person. Hard to compare to your US travel deals.

You want peace and Quiet go to the beach, the pools are always noisy.

We've been twice to Excellence resort in Punta Cana. Adults only. Upgrade to Excellence Club level and you get extra amenities including a private area of the beach. Nine restaurants on the property with a nice variety of cuisines. Nice spa. Remarkable service -- especially with club level.

We love karisma properties. We havenât been to punta Cana but we enjoy them in the Mayan riviera. All have been good.

I 2nd the Excellence.. . And yes upgrade to club... super nice... the pools in Punta Cana are really good... 1 has a really nice waterfall feature... the beach is great.. restaurants are yummy.. there is entertainment at nite but you can find a quiet area by any of the bars...

We booked a swim out room at Secrets Cap Cana. We are going with another couple that was there when it first opened. They highly recommend it (Obvious since they are returning to it!). They said rooms with a swim out pool only share that swimming area with about six other rooms, but they had it to themselves. Room service is provided for your swim out too! They have seven restaurants, a theater bar and they are affiliated with six or seven other resorts you may dine at as well.

I 4th the Excellence...we've been to the one in Punta Cana twice, both properties in Cancun twice and are headed to their new resort in Jamaica in 2 weeks. We cannot say enough good things about the Excellence brand!
