I haven't been to Disney since my kids were younger. As much as I enjoy Disney, can we not have a major ride exit through a toy store? They really know how to annoy parents and make money.
I'm not an impulse shopper, so I'd return the shirt and use the money for something fun, but that's just me. You have do what feels right to you. If you just purchased it then there's no need to be embarrassed.
When my kids were little, I made them go through the gift shop at our zoo when we left. I kept telling them the items were just to look at, but if they saw something they really liked, it might show up at Christmas or their birthday. By the time we got to the car, it was generally forgotten. We had a zoo pass and went at least twice a month. From the time my DD was very little, we would make a habit of going through the toy aisle at Target “just to look today” and I would tell her right up front that was all we were going to do was look. And that was what we did, all the time. She never begged, never whined and never fussed if she saw something she liked even though she knew we wouldn’t be buying anything that day. It did two things for us. One, it helped me figure out the stuff she REALLY liked when her birthday or Christmas rolled around, because those were the things she would look at multiple times and it would give me time to wait for the thing to go on sale. And two, it taught her from early on that going shopping doesn’t always equal getting everything you think you want. Every once in a blue moon, she would look at something she liked and if the price was right I would get it for her because I’m nice like that. Once on a rare occasion when DH was shopping with us (and fearing the worst), he said, “Oh Lord, DO NOT go down the toy aisle!” I looked at him like 🤨 “What are you talking about? We *always* go through the toy aisle. How am I supposed to figure out what she likes if we never look at anything?” He was so surprised that she didn’t beg for anything or have a meltdown or even whine. She just asked to look at certain things, then calmly put them back. So going through a gift shop at the end of every ride doesn’t bother me in the least because I know she is well versed in looking but not necessarily buying. For something like Disney, we will let her choose something as a souvenir plus she will have some of her own money too that she can spend how she wants. It’s funny how quickly things get crossed off the list when she has to spend her own money on it!

Y’all are awesome. Here is the difference between me and my husband; he is an impulse buyer and I don’t usually grab things on impulse. The shirt is neatly folded right now, and I’m thinking I’m going to return it. I would get a lot of wear out of it, but I have a drawerful of half zips that don’t cost nearly as much. I don’t mind spending a lot on nice clothes, but a half zip, while beautiful, just seems over the top frivolous. I’m also heading to Italy in a few weeks so that €€€ can go to a fab pair of boots and bag which makes way more sense (at least in my head🤣). Thanks for the input.
It was made by an Austrian sports designer and I did try to google and see if I could find it for cheaper, but I didn’t find it. I will probably try again when I get home and see if I have better luck.

It’s ok to treat yourself as long as you can afford it. It will be a nice memory of your trip. Check that it’s good fabric and well made, is classic design and it will pay for itself over the years.

I'd take it back. Doesn't make sense to me to blow that kind of money on a shirt, even if you can afford it. It feels frivolous to me.

Read your update Kymberlee - I didn't mean any insult in calling the shirt frivolous. I actually have no problem with frivolous purchases. For me, I just have other items I prefer more that I'd choose. I hate spending lots on clothes.

From your update, I would take it back and start boot shopping! DD33 and DD36 just ordered custom made booties for almost $200 a pair. And I'm thinking with these skinny feet there's no way I could spend that online for shoes which probably aren't returnable. They got their dad's feet! ETA- kibblesandbits- Sparkle on, girl!

Yes, obviously I misread it.
You're probably too old for it now.pjaye - why so mean? kibblesandbits - you're NEVER too old for sheer and glittery and beautiful! Wear that shirt- just get it out and wear it! Put it on with jean or capris or whatever and wear it! Nothing you love should sit in the closet or drawer unworn! It's the deep of winter here . . . I'll pull it out again as soon as the thaw hits.

Did you end up returning it? Also, please share a pik if you can! I'd LOVE to know what it looks like, especially because of the price! Annnd....I know your adora-bull doggie travels a lot with you....did he go on this trip, too? Did he like playing in the snow like our doggies do? ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

I brought it back to the store, and the store doesn’t take returns. 😡 I am now an owner of an almost $300 half zip. Lucky me. Lesson learned I suppose and glad that I love it. On a much sadder note, my sweet boy passed away on December 22. He collapsed and before we could even get him to the car, he had passed away. Needless to say, my husband and I were crushed. Today would have been his13th birthday. It was a sad, sad Christmas for us.

Honestly I would return it, but I also never would have got that far, which makes me curious how many peas buy things without looking at the price first? That's not something I could ever imagine myself doing.

That's not something I could ever imagine myself doing. It isn’t something I do, but I was so excited they had my size and she handed it to me so I just handed to DH and he bought it. It wasn’t until we left that he casually asked if I knew how much it was. I truly had a sick feeling in my stomach when he told me. Believe me, that won’t happen again.
