I'm looking for opinions on bone folders when using a scoring board.
I make the majority of my envelopes. I use the WRMK Envelope Punch Board and the plastic bone folder that came with it. I find that I really don't like that bone folder. I find that on card stock or paper it tears the scoring mark. I try to use a lighter touch, but that results in so poor of a score line that I find I fold the paper crooked. Ugh.
I found this thread about teflon bone folders: Teflon Bone Folder Thread
I was wondering if you: A) Still love your Teflon Bone Folder and B) Do you use it with a Scoring Board of any kind? I noticed that most were using the Bone Folder as just that - to fold/crease paper. Are the tips too side to go in the grooves of a scoring board?
I also have a Martha Stewart Scoring Board and Bone Folder. I really struggle with going "off track" when trying to score with plastic bone folders/scoring tool. I've ruined so much paper. It's frustrating .
Is it just me? Is it the Scoring Boards? Is it the Bone Folders/Scoring Tools?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I received the Teflon Bone Folder I ordered from Amazon and have tried it out. I have not used it a lot, but I tried it on scrapbook paper and several different weights of cardstock, both for scoring and for creasing folders. Here's my experiences:
PROS:
* As a creasing tool, it's just as everyone described. Because of its size (6 1/4" long x 3/4" wide x 3/8" thick) and weight (I bought the larger size - 2.4 ozs), it creases smoothly and quickly, with no 'shine'. My envelopes look very nice, with no mars or marks.
* Amazon delivered quickly and they price was very reasonable ($15.49)
CONS: (Note these "cons" are strictly personal. There is nothing technically 'wrong' with this bone folder! In fact, it is just as described and very nice.)
FOR ME Personally -
* I should have purchased the smaller size. I find this larger size to be very heavy and a bit unwieldy in my hand. For doing some quick folds, I think it will be fine. I think it will be too difficult to use on a big project because it hurts my hand.
* While I give it a "10" for creasing, it is not the best for all of the 'scoring' type boards I have. I find it too wide for my MS Score boards and my WRMK envelope maker. (If I go really, really slowly, I can make it work.) I did search around my craft room and found a Cricut Scoring Stylus (meant for the Cricut Cutting Machine) in my stash and have experimented with it. It seems to do a nice job on the aforementioned boards and fits the grooves much better than the teflon bone folder. I'm going to continue testing the stylus to see if it will be a good substitute for the original plastic bone folders.
So, if you do a lot of creasing, the teflon bone folder is a great tool. For scoring using a scoreboard, I'm wondering if perhaps the smaller version might be a better choice for me. I'll definitely consider purchasing the smaller version in the near future.
