that most people eat?
For me - yogurt
When I was in grade 6 (late 60's) a friend tricked me into eating her strawberry yogurt, telling me it was ice-cream that had melted.
These were the days of homemade yogurt and it was sour, not a bit of sweetness to it.
I tried some strawberry yogurt on Friday and I LOVE it!
Brussels sprouts may have to wait a bit longer.

I do like brussels sprouts, but not yogurt. I can't really think of anything new I'm trying ... I should get out more

I've only started eating pumpkin anything in the past couple of years...now it's one of my favorites!

Raw bell peppers- My 4 year old LOVES them so I guess I'd better start liking them. They aren't as bad as I remembered.

My kids love those packages of the small peppers that look like colored chili peppers. They are cute and easy to eat plus they are very sweet.
I just recently tried brussel sprouts. We roasted them in the oven with some EVOO and salt and they are yummy! Never thought I'd say that. The crispier the better.
My other recent food was Greek Yogurt. It has a tang to it but if I mix it with fruit it's edible.

Those are some son's favorite too! He likes those cute mini peppers - red, yellow and orange. It's funny though, he will devour them raw, but doesn't care for them cooked, like in fajitas.

Some weeks for school, those bags would be so much easier than cutting up the big ones.

I am learning to eat raw bell pepper, too. I especially like it in a macaroni salad.

I'll cook anything but I'm actually pretty picky. In the last year or so I started eating broccoli, Brussels sprouts and sweet bell peppers. Some of the people in my life are stunned that a 61 year old can learn to like veggies I have to say I am equally stunned. I think it's from all the cooking classes I've been taking. I simply had to try the finished dishes even if there were offending things in it.
I don't think I'll ever develop a taste for mushrooms (it's the texture I object to) or asparagus though.

I don't know if *most* people eat it, but I never ate fish, really. Lately I've been ordering it in restaurants frequently, especially salmon. Fish tacos, too.
It's weird, because for YEARS I hated it (or thought I did).

Sushi! I've never liked fish much and didn't think I'd care for it at all. I had no idea it's often paired with yummy things like avocado and cream cheese. I've spent the last year eating it every chance I get - better late than never!

I could count on one hand the things that I don't eat - offal, porridge, oysters..... that's about it.
One thing that I am trying to train myself to eat is blue cheese. I never liked it but I want to! So I started off having it on a pizza with figs - YUM. I want to get to the stage where I can cut off a chunk and happily munch away.
I never used to like olives, and I started off eating half an olive at a time. Now I can devour a jar of them!

Well, it's not really a new food to me, but the amounts I am eating are definitely new. I have been consuming one of the Costco-sized bags of broccoli at least once a week. By myself! I blame it on Love Labs who gave me the trick of sprinkling it with olive oil and roasting it in the oven. OMG is it ever good. I thought I had ruined it at first because it was all browned and shriveled looking. But the taste was amazing and not like typical broccoli at all. Now, I crave it. And it is so fast and easy, and minimal cleanup. I got my mom hooked on it too. We sprinkle a bit of Parmesan cheese on it. I just ate the last of it for lunch today so I have to go get another bag.

Spaghetti squash. I don't eat it with sauce though. I'll toss it with some homemade pesto. I was never a huge fan of traditional spaghetti though.

For me, it is steamed broccoli. I used to wouldn't touch it unless it had cheese on it. Now, I just love it steamed with a light sprinkle of salt.
I have also started eating more fish. I now love fish tacos, tuna steaks and baked salmon.

Brussel sprouts==YUCKOLA!!!! I'm fairly adventurous food-wise, but I hate these. Ummm....let's see....the mushrooms!!! I love all sorts. This is new for me. Latin people are not known to be veggie lovers, unless they are breaded and fried somehow.

I can't think of anything I don't eat except oysters and I would love to try them. Brussels sprouts and sushi are on regular rotation in our household (though not together!) Sushi is my kids' favorite foods. There is an amazing local place which is also very very expensive we go to for special occasions. But there are other places we go to at least once a month.

I always find these threads interesting because I am a pretty adventurous eater. I was introduced to Spaghetti Squash about 6 months ago and we love it!
The fish comments are interesting to read. I remember meeting a lady who was from upstate New York. She used to tell us how much she hated shrimp. One day, a friend and I cooked Shrimp Etouffee and Shrimp Scampi for her. She LOVED it! Come to find out, all of the shrimp that had been cooked for her was boiled in plain water with no spices. We introduced her to shrimp cooked in yummy ways and she really liked it. I know this will not always be the case but it made me wonder what else she didn't like but had never had it cooked in a wonderful way.
