I lost my flight from Katmandu to the US because of weather. Be careful when you buy flight insurance because mine did not cover weather. I had to pay another 800 to get home!

After talking to them last night and got more information they did lose out on some things but DD and her boyfriend got full refunds on everything, flight and hotel (they never even got started on the trip). Her friend and boyfriend who flew from TX to Denver to Vegas, got the Denver to Vegas portion refunded but none of the baggage fees. They are still waiting on the hotel to see if their room will be refunded. They are all at the same hotel but booked through different websites. DD booked through Expedia and no problems on the refund. Her friend booked through Groupon (or used Groupon) so who knows?? Then the one last guy going he was coming through TX as well (but different city) is getting a little refund but nothing earth shattering, $40?? So all in all it could have been much worse.
They had a place to stay (my house) and they are just doing little things around town. Last night they all went out and played beach volleyball at some bar.
My house looks like a frat party hit it. The girls did bake a bunch of cupcakes and my 10 year got to decorate them all. She was in cupcake heaven. Then my youngest and I hid out in my bedroom and watched movies.. lol
