Signed up for txt messages for a casino (Foxwoods in CT) to try and win concert tickets. No clue when I originally signed up for them. So if it's a group I have heard of I try to win them of course. Just happened that a few days ago I mentioned to my SO that I try and never win. Well you guessed it. I got a txt message yesterday saying I won two tickets to see Flogging Molly. Only crappy thing is it is for tonight. Going to be a late night if I definitely go. I had to cancel a shift at my pt job (lied and said I have to work at my ft job). I was hoping my step dd would go but it looks like one of my sisters is will seeing she has the week off.
They are a Celtic punk band.My DS is mad that he can't change his shift because they are a group he definitely wants to see. If only the casino was closer we could go together.
Anyway, sign up for those contests, someone has to win and it may as well be you..... or me!!!

Congratulations! I know who they are because the guy in the cubicle next to me has their flag pinned up on his cube wall. It's his favorite band in the world. Enjoy!

Congrats! I always sign up with the same thought you have, someone has to win. I won front row to Bon Jovi back in the day, Thomas Rhett, Brett Young and a few others. My best was when I won a season pass for a local ski area. I could never have afforded that. Enjoy the show, even if you are a bit tired tomorrow

I hope you had fun! I won 7th row Def Leppard tickets in the late 80s, early 90s, but no luck since.

How was it? I LOVE Flogging Molly!! I don't love concerts anymore though, too peoply - but the last time I saw FM, it was rockin!! The joint was JUMPING! They are a lot of fun.
ETA: I never win anything, but I have a friend who is FOREVER winning concert tickets. I don't usually enter contests like that anymore because I am really serious about the "too peoply" thing.

Well I decided not to go. The idea of getting home at 1 am and getting up at 6 am sounded pretty harsh. It's a bitch getting old!
When my DD's bf heard I got the tickets he was so excited because he really likes them. I ended up getting them the tickets. I was like why are you going with him but not me. They did have a really good time and were glad they went. It was definitely a late night but seeing they are less than half my age it was no big deal.

That was super nice that you passed them on to someone so they could enjoy the show even if you couldn't. I would have done the same thing if I chose not to go. Glad they had fun.

That sounds exactly like what I would have done - I NEVER go out on a "school night" unless it's something REALLY, REEEEAAAALLLY special. I can't even think of an example of something so special that I would go out on a "school night" for - although I have tickets to go see Twenty One Pilots with my DD on a Sunday night in June, 4 hours away from home. I already took Monday off and booked us a hotel room! Glad they got to go to the show! Drunken Lullabies has been stuck in my head since I read your original post!

I used to win stuff like that all the time (I guess I am in a dry spell).. but yeah during the week with no notice makes it really hard. Regarding FM.. At my old job years ago they were a client of ours and I had to do A LOT of work on their behalf!! I really can't say more than that.. but just a little trivia for ya! I almost 'had' to go to one of their concerts for work purposes but it never worked out.
