When selling something, how long do you wait for the buyer to show before you move on to the next person? What about between "is this available?" messages. Do you reply "yes" to everyone and just go forward with whomever replies back first, or do you wait for a reply one at a time? If so, how long do you wait before moving on? Listed a whole bunch of stuff last night and got a ton of traction and then no shows. I'm annoyed

For the “is this available?” question I would put a note on my listing that says if it is listed it is available. Then, if someone asked I would feel free to ignore them.
Sorry for your no shows!

So the most recent flake--20 minutes after she didn't arrive, I reached out and asked if she was still coming. After 10 more minutes, I moved on to the next buyer (I had a whole line of them). 45 minutes after her scheduled arrival time, she texts and says "Well I was on my way and was going to be there in 10 minutes." I said that because she didn't communicate with me, I had no way of knowing that. She said that she had said "ish" and I said that 45 minutes or later was not considered "ish." I only got 3 hours of sleep last night because of the kids and her arrival was the only thing preventing me from taking a nap with them so I wasn't going to hang around all afternoon and let her arrive 3 hours late

When I listed something on FB marketplace I got annoyed with people asking if it was still available. However when I wanted to buy something and showed interest, the app automatically sends the ‘is this still available?’ Message to the seller. It’s not their fault. However, when I agree to buy something, I always turn up on time or text if I’m going to be slightly late due to traffic. Expecting someone to stay home waiting for a buyer without a specific time frame is really rude. I would give people a 30 minute window and if they don’t show or communicate within that time, I would move on. I’ve wasted too much of my time as a buyer and a seller.

If it is a hot item and the person is 45 minutes late, then I would absolutely move on to the next buyer. I would always text first and if they don’t respond, then, Bye, Felicia.
If I have no one else lined up, I will work with them.

On the "Is this available?" messages, I respond yes to every one until someone sets up a specific pick up time and I provide my address. That is the default message sent when they click the "Ask for details" button. Many people click on it accidentally. They also have the option to "Contact seller" and send a more personalized message, so I don't feel bad responding yes to all the auto messages.

We give the postal code of the grocery store five minutes away. Would you believe I had someone show up in the parking lot and call me to announce she is here. I had only given my phone number to her and not the address. We give our cell number and not the home number (they can look up the address in the phone book). We do not put our number in the ad. When they contact us we say we will give out our address when they are ready to come. I have seen some ads that they have a 2 hour window to pick up. If people sound strange we will meet them at the grocery store at a pre-arranged time.
