I was just thinking about how this is a website mainly of people from another website, and how since there's no commercial draw to this site, that when we (the collective we) don't use it anymore, it will just be sitting out here in cyberspace, with the footprint of a generation of scrapbooker and smack talkers left behind.
I wonder how many truly new people, that never visited the twopeas store website, have joined this site to use actively (meaning not as random spammers, trying to sell random product or leaving dubious links).

if i had never been on the old site, i don't think i would have found this one. the only reason i found the old site was i googling scrapbook info and 2peas popped up. back then there were tons of SB resources and sites. now, i don't know how many message boards exist that are SB related. and how many people SB today? not as much as before. so how would people find us? by googling a specific thing?
it's kind of nice, and kind of eeery, to know that 2peas will have that footprint long after we are gone. i run across random message boards out there with posts dating back to 2000 and i sometimes wonder what became of those people. especially on medically related boards. i'm sure people who stumble upon "us" will wonder the same thing. even now, a random person reading an old thread won't know who of us is still around and who is not.

I never would have thought to look for a site like this, without the old 2Peas.
I don't think DH understands the appeal (apPEAl?) of this forum. I love it here.

Mine sort of does. i told him that if anything ever happens to me, he can always log on to my account to see the thousands of things i had to chat about all these years. LOL

I wouldn't have found this site had I not been a member of the old board for years. This place is my cyber home. I've learned so much over the years and I've made some good friends, as well.

How would it grow organically?
I'd be interested to know if and how anyone not affiliated with the old site, or knowing an existing user, found this new place.

That's what I meant, that it really has no way of growing organically. Some day this will just be a forgotten relic of the ladies who used to belong to a now defunct scrapbook website. Little bit sad.

Fairly new member here. I never knew about the other board. Eons ago, when dot.coms were emerging like firecrackers, many were offering great deals and many times free products to garner up business. I have no clue how I stumbled upon a website called Fishing for Deals. They had a deals section and a chit-chat section. After years of deals fading away, I still enjoyed the chit-chat section. It was similar as it is here with a wealth of knowledge from members. The owner of the Fishing for Deals site had medical issues and then site issues and for some reason, it was very neglected and membership dropped to almost zilch. A member from there referred me here. I do not even know who that person was, as I don't believer she was a regular poster at that board for her username to standout for me to remember. I have really enjoyed this site with all the various subjects discussed. One learns so much from this type of forum.

I’m too am from the old board. I’m beyond thrilled this one was started.
Oh and my dh and dd......if we are wondering about a purchase this is the first place I ask. If we are wondering about travel....I’m here first. The knowledge that is shared is just wonderful. Now, will this be passed down? I haven’t a clue as to how many younger peas we have.
So.......oh and I found the original site from a scrapbook magazine article that was in Paperkuts.

This is a really great question to ask and I agree with others when they say we aren't getting much new input. I love everyone old, but I also like to see new people.

I'm sorry to hear that the owner had medical issues, I hope they sre doing better now. I also was on a dave ramsey board that someone from here recommended that was a wealth of information and inspiration. I think they changed names and I was never able to find them afterwards. Would love to find another group like that. I found 2peas after attending a scrapbooking class in my town. I started on the GS board mostly as a lurker for a long time. I eventually found my way to NSBR and got sucked in completely When it went down, I heard about 2peasrefugees on Facebook. Maria

I haven't heard anything for a long time about her, but I too hope all is good with her and her family.

I doubt I'd have found this site without having been on the original. I was really into message boards at one time. Now this is the only one I visit. Though I scrapbook, and I started in that side of the board, I quickly found myself on NSBR more. That said I recall some big threads on the SB side that had drama
