DD #1 is getting married in July so it is time I start looking at dresses I suppose. Her dress is ivory lace over tan/rose gold. Her fiance will be wearing a cobalt blue suit. Only the Best Man and Matron of Honor will be attendants. They are leaving my color up to me! It will be outdoor wedding ceremony but indoor reception so I am partial to a tea length dress. I am not sure what color I should wear. WWTPD?

So fun! I would get a color that compliments the maid of honor. I am in the process too. Since I didn’t do the big wedding dress—-say yes thing. My friend and I will do it with my mob dress!!

I'm mother of the groom - wedding in June. I'm just starting to look and I'm leaning towards a chiffon pant suit, but not sure. Dressy Pant Suit

Soft Coral or a Peachy Rose would tone with her gown and just about anything the Maid of Honour and the MOG wears.

Depends what colour the matron of honour is wearing. Try a colour that suits you and is complimentary to the MoH's colour. I wouldn't get too fixated on a particular colour before you go looking though as very often one can't find anything suitable. Have a few colours in mind.

I agree with @dottyscrapper, go with an open mind because setting off with a specific colour in mind might mean you miss something fabulous in another colour or get frustrated if you can’t find the colour you wanted.
Have fun!

My DS and his fiancée are engaged but no date set and they now have a baby, so I think their wedding will be small. Still I have been eyeing the dresses that pop up on my facebook feed, and I'm thinking pink will be what I choose. I love pink anyway and think it will look good with whatever they decide to wear. I think your tea length dress sounds lovely and the pants suit idahomom linked it very nice.

I think you can pick almost anything. A floral might be nice.

I would want to know what the best man and matron of honor are wearing before I decided, but I think the rose gold and cobalt blue are a beautiful color combination, and there are lots of colors you could wear that will look great. If it were me, I'd probably wear green because it's my favorite color and the right shade of green looks great w/ both cobalt blue and rose gold. I think yellow or orange would look great as well, if you can wear those colors. I also think a neutral like beige would look beautiful with all the vibrant colors.
Congrats to all on the engagement!

Since you are looking for tea length, I’d try ModCloth. They have beautiful dresses, even party dresses.

I just was concerned about it being too casual. The bride approved the idea though. I have two knee replacements and a hip replacement so any type of heeled shoe is awkward and uncomfortable, plus I have 7" scars on both legs that don't look great with a dress.
My sister-in-law is also getting married in June so I have to find something semi formal for that as well. She's 23 (a whole different story) and feels more like my niece. Also an outside wedding so a long skirt will be okay for that and hopefully I have something already.

leeny - Did you find anything yet? I went this weekend and wow, the options were not great in Boise, Idaho. I'm short and overweight - limits my choices. The pant suit isn't happening. The fabric was SO thin that I'd need full body Spanx under it - showed everything right through. Most mother dresses were floor length, extremely matronly, or left a pile of glitter everywhere. What's with all the glitter and sequins?? I bought this at Nordstrom Rack because it fits very nice, flattering for my shape, and I figured I better buy it since I really didn't like anything else. If I do find something better I'll return it. AND IT WAS ONLY $67!!! My next challenge will be finding shoes. Much of a heel feels very awkward because I have double knee replacements and a hip replacement. My knees feel a weird stressed sensation with heels - hard to describe.

I have 2 blue party dresses. I wore navy to the wedding and bought a light bluish grey dress for my birthday party this year. It’s also wedding attire. I love both dresses.

Is it one piece, or two? I wonder if Clarks have any low heeled sandals that might be dressy enough?

I know not fancy, but I have decided my safety comes first. No replacements, but well past the age......

View Attachment Love that dress. When my daughter got married I wore a navy dress & black sequin flats. I can't wear heels any more either.
