The original story is from 2015--now the idea has spread to other communities.

Every summer, our county holds a "parade" that does a tour throughout the county. It's pretty big (the parade and our county). This would not be a surprise in this area. I like the idea, helps remind everyone who our kids are and what their future probably holds.

We have a day of Homecoming week in the fall that is drive your tractor to school day. I don't know how many actually participate (we live in town so ds doesn't), I know there was some question about which students could/couldn't participate based on what the law is about unlicensed drivers driving tractors on public streets.

Parking is already a joke at the local campus, I don't think it would go over well. The first elementary school my kids went to, kids would get there by horse and four wheelers sometimes.

They did that at the high school my kids attended. Homecoming week, I believe.

We have tractor day at our school in Iowa. It’s always been a thing for our district.

My kids would have loved to have done that.

My son's school had that this week. There were three or four tractors in the parking lot. One was huge.

The last day of classes is tractor day at the high school I attended. It has been going on for years and is a lot of fun to see all the tractors in the parking lot.

My cousin and I drove a tractor to school everyday in 1993. 😆 It was the norm here until we were old enough to get our licenses. I think there is an official day but it's not unusual to see horses, tractors, 4 wheelers and gators at the store, post office, etc.
Fun tradition!

Our seniors do that close to their last day. You never know when the tractors are going to show. For the kids that dont have tractors, they often take their riding lawn mowers or quads

Drive your Tractor to School is nothing new! My husband did that in the early 80's!
