I’ll preface this to say that Australia is at the top of my bucket list.
Oldest DD has just been accepted for a university exchange program for a semester in her sophomore year and I couldn’t be more excited for her. She will be attending Australian Catholic University but we aren’t sure yet which campus. I am sure I will have lots of questions for the Aussie peas in the months to come.

Soooo exciting for all of you.
My DS has been accepted to study for a year in Denmark next year. He will have completed 2 years of his BA & will then return to the UK the following year to complete the final year. He’s filling in paperwork as I type & selecting modules to study.

So you'll be visiting too then? I’ve already been looking up flights and making a plan for vacation. She just got her acceptance letter yesterday so we still need to get lots of info before putting my vacation plan in action...but I’ll be ready lol

Soooo exciting for all of you. My DS has been accepted to study for a year in Denmark Congrats to your son too! We live in Fredericton, New Brunswick, In Canada...even though we are the provincial capital it is still a smal city. DD picked her top 3 choices as Australia, Malta and Sweden. I would have been excited for her with any of these opportunities to see the world but particularly thrilled about Australia.

I don't know anything about the university but it's such a small place in so many ways compared to Australia and Sweden

Sounds like a wonderful opportunity! My niece did this about 8 years ago. She met someone there, fell in love, returned and married the guy. She is now a citizen of Australia. She is very happy but my brother and sis-in-law only see her every few years.

Congratulations to your DD! So exciting! I'd be busy planning my trip, too. Slight hijack. Many, many years ago a friend was teaching at an oil company compound in Libya and their contract included a weekend trip to Malta at least monthly (maybe more often) so they could have a little life beyond their compound.

How exciting for her - and you too if it means you get to come here! Let us know when she finds out what campus she will be going to. I know a couple of kids who attend / attended the ACU here in Melbourne. DD's boyfriends being one of them.

Great news Neisey! I am in South Australia but happy to answer any questions re the land down under! I hope she gets Melbourne campus in Victorian capital. My bro and sis in-law live near there. Very central to city ,lovely part of the city Melbourne is fabulous- much better than Sydney IMHO-easier to get around and so cosmopolitan. Hope she has THE BEST time!

My DD went for a semester also but went to Bond University in the Gold Coast. She went to so many amazing places while there. She loved it.

I attended ACU in Brisbane for a semester. I liked it and had no dramas. I ended up taking a break and completed another degree somewhere else. I hope she has a great time. Gilly.

My daughter spent an academic year at Toledo university in Spain as part of her 4 yr English Spanish law degree. Not only did her Spanish become flawless, but she grew up so much during that time. It's her fondest memory of her time at Uni . I was lucky that it was close/cheap enough to visit her a few times and take her brothers out for 5 days as well .

How exciting for her. One of my dd’s friends attends ACU in Melbourne and loves it. There are a few of us Aussie peas that would be happy to help with any questions when the time is closer.
