In just 6ish days we will begin DST. I have been looking forward to this since the first weekend in November. I do love the extra daylight at the end of the day, but this year even more I will be looking forward to two little pups begging for dinner closer to their actual feeding time.
I know not everyone is a fan of DST, but if you are, what is your favorite part of having more daylight at the end of the day?

I am very much looking forward to it. I have recently moved across the country and I’m often out exploring in the late afternoon by walking around different areas. It is still cold here so I often have to close up shop, so to speak, well ahead of actually being done because I am losing daylight. It will be great to have that extra hour in the evening moving forward. I do realize it is simply rearranging the hours in the day but I still prefer that extra hour of daylight at the end of the day rather than in the beginning. I like to do a lot of stuff outdoors and this will just make it easier for my schedule.

As much as I hate losing an hour of sleep, I hate leaving work in the dark more than anything. It's also very confusing for young children.

Have always been a huge fan of Dst especially when I was working as it meant we had that extra daylight at the end of the day and actually used it to be outdoors.
Never had a problem with our children sleeping as we did bedtime by the clock not by the sunlight. It really is what they get used to.

I don’t care about the time change, only that it’s thw signal to my body that warm days are coming. I have severe sad and this year has been even worse with my brothers death. I need warmth and sunlight like yesterday.

I start counting down the days the minute we fall back in November. I could live where it's light 24/7.

I can't wait! I love extra light at the end of the day. I'd like to stay on Daylight savings time year round.

My sleep cycle is screwed up enough by my hormones. I hate it when DST screws with it even further.

I am bracing myself for the complaint threads here about losing an hour of sleep, how their little ones can't adjust, how HARD it is to get up and get acclimated, and how their DHs are just bears for a week thanks to this.

I don't like losing the hour of sleep on Saturday night, but after I get up and going with my normal Sunday activities it's no longer an issue in the grand scheme of life. I wish every state would just get rid of it.

Not a fan of. DST. Not a fan of summer, DST marks the beginning of the heat to come.

Me too! My family loves it! We are so much more productive when it's daylight later in the evening. When it's dark at 5:00pm, all we do is sit in front of the tv. I think that's why I lose weight in the spring and summer.

I am bracing myself for the complaint threads here about losing an hour of sleep, how their little ones can't adjust, how HARD it is to get up and get acclimated, and how their DHs are just bears for a week thanks to this. Not from me! There are many nights that I lose an hour or more of sleep. Holiday parties, sporting events, a good book, etc. keep me from getting a full nights sleep here and there, and I adjust just fine. And my husband travels for work a lot, in different time zones, and he adjusts just fine.
Now one thing I cannot do is go on a long trip and get up in the middle of the night to drive. That I can't do. But "losing" an hour for the wonderful DST is totally worth it to me! If I really need sleep, I will go to bed earlier or sleep later.

It's well after 7pm when it gets dark now, a few more days of gaining light plus the time change and it will be 8:30. So excited!! Sure we have a lot of winter left here in the north but the light just gives me energy.

I like driving home from work in the daylight. I also just like how it stays light in general later. It just feels like when I get home from work I have more time rather than feeling like it’s time for bed.

At this point, we may as well stop changing the clocks for only 4 months.

I love when it stays light outside until 7:30pm- 8:00pm. I wish it would stay that way year round. I enjoy walking, so I walk more outside when it's light out. I won't walk in the dark, as it's hard to see if someone is lurking about. I prefer to do errands before or after work, so my days off are free of tedious errands. When it's dark outside when leaving work, it feels like the day is winding down(psychologically speaking). Lights outside, later in the evening, makes the days feel longer. Since it's light outside later, then I am more inclined to cook outside. With DST, comes warmer temperatures, which means >> ice cream cones.

Sure we have a lot of winter left here in the north but the light just gives me energy. Me too! In the summer, if I have to run an errand at 8:00pm, no problem! And I can be productive and clean the house in the evening. In the fall/winter, when it's dark early, I don't want to leave the house and all I do is sit. I have no energy to do anything! I envy those that love the early darkness, I am just useless in the fall and winter.

I guess I am the opposite of most. I like nights. I find more time to relax and chill before bedtime during the winter. It gets dark around 8-8:30 in June, and we are out doing more things, which is not a bad thing. I enjoy being out. But I also like a few hours of downtime before going to bed. I lose that during the summer. Life seems more rushed with more activities. The energy just changes. Pros and cons for me. Plus that first week of telling my body it really is time to get up for work! Ugh!
