you have sat at a stop sign waiting for the "light" to change? Asking for a friend. Too many things on the brain today and I know it was only a few seconds before I started wondering "is this light ever going to change?" and realized I wasn't at a light.

well, the intersections with the arrows add extra time. i would say 5 minutes when it comes to some very busy intersections or intersections where the lights aren't calibrated well. i know of one light where i'm always in the arrow lane. it takes forever for that arrow light to turn because the thru lights are for a very busy road and they give those lanes extra time so it doesn't bunch up. then there are the cross street lights where they give those lights tons of time even if no cars are there. those lights definitely need calibrating.

I can tell you the shortest was when my friend stopped at a red light and then went like it was a stop sign! Hahahah! Oops...

10 minutes- before CA and the City of Santa Barbara decided to put whether to put the highway underground or the city cross streets underground. There were signs advising you of the wait times.

I so love the *asking for a friend* line. Gets me every time. 😂

Umm, probably in college after smoking some weed. ETA: The way I answered this question makes it sound like I'm smoking weed now, LOL. Let's just say that it used to happen often enough, and it took me a while to realize it.

Oh, I have definitely waited at a stop sign for it to turn green a time or two. 😁

I think you missed her question. She is talking about a 4-way stop intersection. OP, I have waited until the car behind me honked Oops! Another intersection that USED to be a 3-way stop, years later I came to a complete stop then turned left ~ broke out in a cold sweat when I realized how awful it could have been if there had been anyone coming in either direction. I'm thinking my brain would have kicked in before it got to that.

Umm, probably in college after smoking some weed. Ha ! That reminds me of someone I know who will say after the light has changed from red to green and you haven’t quite started moving yet ~ if that light gets any greener, we’ll have to smoke it ! 😉

Like they taught us in driver's ed back in high school.

There is a series of three intersections with stop signs that end with a final intersection with a stoplight that lead from my street to the freeway. I don’t want to admit how many times I’ve sat at the last stop sign intersection waiting for the light to change at the intersection ahead.
