DH has been interviewing with a number of companies as he will be getting laid off at the end of the month. Some of them we know he is not the right fit for and others are good possibilities. none of them is the perfect job, but most people just don't find the perfect job. We are realistic about that. What we have found is that some companies are good in this area and others in that area, but without a job offer we can't get all the info to know just how all that will work out.
He got an offer this morning! It's a good one for him and he would be happy to have it, but some of the other companies may be work a little better though and we have some questions about things like insurance (as a type 1 diabetic this is a big deal for us) - and that is one of the questions we have with this particular company because of the way the company is.
If he had been looking for a long time with no prospects it would be different. He has been having multiple interviews each week and some of the companies seem quite interested in him.
So how long does he have to respond to the offer? We were thinking by the end of the day or this morning he should at least let them we have questions about the insurance. Should he let them know about the other companies he has been interviewing with as well? We don't want him to play hardball. We just want the best fit.
Should he contact the other companies he has interviewed with and let them know about the offer and tell them he is still interested? How does he word that?
One of the companies he has an interview with today isn't going to work well and there is a good chance that an offer will come from that. We had already decided that before the offer from this company came so he planned on letting them know that he really appreciated their time and didn't want to waste more of their time by interviewing him again. So that company is fairly easy to deal with. It is just the companies that may work better that we have questions on.
