I bought some lawn Fawn knock offs off ali express. However the dies are either smaller or bigger then the original dies and they can’t be used interactively with other sets. For instance, the shadow box park Add On is bigger then the lawn fawn real version and you cannot use this with the standard shadow box or scalloped Box Card. I’ve ended up purchasing the regular dies from lawn fawn and wasted my $$ on Ali with stuff that doesn’t work. Lesson learned from being cheap. I couldn’t afford all the new lawn fawn but now I will be patient and save for the real thing.

Disappointing, but somehow I'm not surprised. Others have complained about dies not always matching size.

Scrapbook Pal has 20% off LF every day [no coupon code needed] and free shipping over $25. They ship fast and have great customer service.
I'm not affiliated with LF or Scrapbook Pal. I'm just a happy customer.

Oh yes, not a surprise. Often they are irregular.

I'm just a happy customer. Thanks. I buy a ton from scrapbookpal and hallmark etc, though scrapbookpal has recently increased their prices. My problem is that I want most of the new release and I spent a ton buying stuff I wanted from postal and scrapbookpal and then supplementing stuff I thought I would use less but still like to have with Ali which did not work out. Lesson learned :-)

Ha,ha,ha! I ordered a cover die and when I got it all I could do was laugh. It was literally barely bigger than a postage stamp! And I have also noticed that their prices are going up. One die was 10 something to ship. The original was around 16. Thats no deal to me to get something I know is sub par. I'd rather spend the extra and know what I am getting. Now when you pay a dollar or two then its no big deal to get a dud. It just stinks because I want all the new releases!!! Darn it!!!

Yep you definitely have to read all the product descriptions and sizes very carefully.

Mm, you can get some knockoffs that are the correct size but it's rare - a lot of the time it'll be smaller, sometimes bigger, and sometimes distorted (right length, but too short in height for example.) I've had a lot of sizing issues recently with AliExpress - not so much in that things didn't fit, but that the delivered product didn't match the listing photos or listing size described. It's one thing if I'm dumb enough to overlook the dimensions, quite another when what's written down doesn't match the product!
I've found the best success in only buying listings where they show the actual dies on a cutting mat with measurements, rather than relying on graphic mockups. The glamour shots are unreliable 99% of the time.

I have always had luck with Ali express dies. I don’t really expect them to match the real stamp or be the same size but I can create similar cards at a fraction of the cost. The cover plates are a real bargain.

I would say on the whole, about 90% of the stuff I order is perfectly usable. Of the remaining 10%, some of it doesn't arrive, is the wrong size, or is damaged/defective/wrong item. My poorest success rates have been with stamps/die sets - there it's more like 50% have problems, mostly with the dies not fitting the stamps properly. There's no way I could own as nice a selection of dies as I do without AliExpress though, so for me at least that small chance of potential disappointment is well worth the fractional cost versus shopping retail. Our local selection is laughably bad - rarely does Michaels have more than 30 or so different die cutting sets in stock, and they make you pay through the nose for them even considering coupons.
