Whoa, that's hard to believe, he looks so healthy! I'm glad he's getting better and hope he makes a full recovery.
Take it easy Tim.

I seen his post and was saddened he is going through this. I added him to my prayer list, get well quickly Tim!

I read about this last night. My oldest son has the same heart condition (he was diagnosed at just 2 months old) and reading about Tim's complications post-surgery scares me half to death.

I am always surprised adults spend so little time in the cardiac ICU. Where as kids spend quiet awhile AND have drain tubes post open heart. Adults don't. My dad was in patient for 5 days post his open heart. He had zero complications.

His social media had been so quiet but I just figured he was taking some well deserved time off after Creativation and all of his new releases. What a shock! Sounds like he is making good forward progress this time.

So scary but glad he is on the mend.
My fil had a massive heart attack and subsequently a heart transplant and has had many scares regarding rejection since the surgery as well as many scares about his heart not making it until a new one became available before surgery.
He was just admitted last week due to a tear but thankfully it was super early so they were able to fix it with medication instead of surgery. He was struggling with shortness of breath (sign for him something was wrong) but waited it out because it happened the weekend before his annual checkup. He got to go home on Monday. I'm sure the scares will continue the rest of his life.
I can only imagine how scary all of this must have been to deal with and am so glad he is on the mend.

What an ordeal. I hadn't heard about this. It sounds like he is very lucky he survived. So glad he is still with us, and that he had good medical care.

Oh boy, yeaah, that's scary! I had to smile about the mall walking part <3 I hope he's back up to full strength soon.
(Also, a good reminder to call the nurse/doctor when you're not feeling right, especially if you've just had surgery or have a serious health condition. We're so good at dismissing stuff as "probably normal" or figuring stuff can wait until the next check up. I'm so glad that most health insurance now has a number to call to ask if something is normal or needs more attention.)

My dad had open heart surgery 2 years ago and he still has pain from his incision. I hope that Tim makes a full recovery. Pretty scary to go through something like that.

Wow, as soon as I saw that signed heart, I knew what happened. He was just like my daughter but she had an aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, and then a patch on her aorta for her valve and coarctation. Then 3 weeks after her almost 12 hour surgery, she wasn't feeling well. Her fluid in her heart almost killed her, and she ended up with a permanent "window" cut into her pericardium so it doesn't happen again. Wow, it was a bit weird reading it because it's SO similar. Praying he recovers quickly.

I am sorry to hear this and glad he is on the mend. Mario might have to change his menus since some of those dinners posted on Instagram are not exactly heart healthy.
Everyone's path on heart issues are different. I spent almost 5 weeks hospitalized, (10 days after heart attack, before they felt my heart could handle my five hour (it took 9 hours) surgery, then 3 weeks after.) And I had three chest tubes (worst part!). Fourteen months later, (and two more surgeries for complications) and I am still only functioning at 60%.
I hope he recovers well, with no further issues. His teaching schedule and the energy which it requires would not conducive to continuing heart issues. It will take much longer than 12 weeks to recover.

Many patients with heart failure may require several different classes of medication to aid in the management of this complex condition process. Just wondering why you created an account here to resurrect an old post about Tim?
