Does anyone have a bathroom color that you love? Do you prefer neutrals? Or something with more color?

Does anyone have a bathroom color that you love? Do you prefer neutrals? Or something with more color? I prefer nuetrals. You can add a pop of color in the accessories. But the way a color turns out on a wall depends on so much. DO you have a window with natural light coming in? What color are the fixed items (floor, cabinets)? Color will vary depending on what is around it - even down to what type of light bulb used.

I like color in bathrooms. My master bath is painted a light teal color with glitter mixed in. It's Behr and called Moon Something. Moon River? Something like that. It makes me happy every time I go in there.

Be careful about using a strong paint colour in a bathroom if you apply makeup in there! Green is particularly bad. I like a light neutral for a main or en-suite bath. You can be way more adventurous in a powder room. A strong colour and/or bold wallpaper or tile can be fun in a powder room.

Two of ours are very light tan and our master is the same as our bedroom which is white with lavender undertones. I’m not a huge fan of our bed/bathroom color but painting it and moving all that stuff isn’t high on my list of priorities. I like our tan bathrooms a lot more.
And I totally agree that having any strong color is going to reflect and give off color casts that can affect what you see if you’re putting on makeup. I noticed that when I had bright pink carpeting in my studio in my old house and I constantly had to color correct all my work photos to fix it.

My bathrooms are light gray. The master is SW Repose Gray, with carrara marble tile and counters and navy cabinets. It's a very soothing effect. The front bathroom is SW Argos, a gray that's a little bit stronger. The cabinets in there are a darker gray with Lyra Silestone counters. If I were doing another bathroom, I would go with the color in my laundry & sewing rooms; SW Skandia. It's a fun periwinkle blue that's not overpowering, and a color that would work with both white trim or wood trim.

I am getting ready to paint our bathrooms. I have narrowed it down to either Sherwin Williams Sea Salt, or Sherwin Williams Kryptonite or North Star. They are soothing colors to me. Both pair well with grays and can blend with more neutral colors as well. I have been looking at paint colors for weeks now.

For 8 years I've had wood panelling, white sanitary ware and sunshine yellow walls, which I love, but it's looking tired. I like the yellow but it's so out of fashion that I can't find new towels any more.
Only yesterday I was chatting with DH about it, and we're thinking of keeping the white sanitary ware and tiles, painting the panelling white to match, and having mushroom coloured flooring and a darker shade of the same colour on the walls. That way it's all neutral, and I can change my towels/bath mats to whatever colours I want. We're by the sea so I'm thinking of ropes, shells, driftwood and lighthouses for decoration.

Thank you! We've lived here for 28 years, and finally started remodeling it 6 years ago. I'm trying to find a before picture of that laundry room to share because no one would believe it was the same space!

If it's an attached bath, it coordinates with the adjacent room. Stand alone? Pick a color you like that complements the theme of the house. I stay away from strong colors as I find them stifling and they screw with skin tone.

In our last house I painted the master bath a very very pale pink. I quite liked it. I haven't painted bathrooms here yet because they all need a complete tear out.

One of my bathrooms is bubblegum pink, one is royal blue and the other is coral. I love color so most rooms in my house have bright or dark colors

Thanks, everyone. Right now the bathroom off of the living room is a pale taupe (not sure how else to describe it). We just painted the living room revere pewter, which isn’t too different than the bathroom. But the bathroom is looking like it needs a fresh coat of paint. Not sure if I want to do the revere pewter or something different. If something different, go with something more gray? Or something like silver mist or sea salt? I love how “color” looks on Pinterest, but my experience In painting my laundry room is that it might not look the same in my room, so I’m a little nervous to go that route.

What are your color accents in the living room? I’d either go with a color from the same paint strip as Revere Pewter (does BM do paint strips? I don’t remember) or one of these accent colors. If you don’t like painting the neutral is the better bet because you can easily change the look of the room with towels and accessories. I like darker colors in powder rooms with all white because they just pop in the space and make the white look really clean and fresh.

I know what you mean. A color can complete change depending on the lighting. I have Sea a salt in my laundry room and it looks blue green in the daytime and more green at night. Luckily they both blend with my other colors, but it can make a such a huge difference.

I’ve recently painted my bathroom Silver Dust by Vaspar. It’s a very soft gray and I love it. My first gray room. It looks so classy.

I have SW Sea Salt in a bath with no natural light. There's natural maple cabinets and the floor is a brown tile, almost chocolate. I love it, it really freshened the look. Because of all the brown tones, it tends toward greenish in there.
I also have Sea Salt in a bedroom with bright natural light and a cream color carpet. In there, it leans toward blue grey.
My half bath is purple - a mid tone dusty violet. Really fun as it's the only bold color on walls in the house.

I just took down my “winter” decor and put up more spring-y decor. These are the pillows in the living room. The other accents are white, brown, greenery, natural tones. I found this paint strip on Pinterest. I also like this color. I wish I had seen it before painting the living room. I would have gotten a sample to try. I have oak trim, doors and cabinets. Floor is a light colored vinyl tile with gray and cream tones. We have mindful gray in the other bathroom with the same floor and it looks good with that color as well as the tan upstairs.

You already know the revere looks good with your woodwork, I’m assuming you have the same woodwork in the bathroom? How does it look with the floor in the bathroom? I’d probably choose the revere pewter or edgecomb grey and bring in either of the blues if you want accent colors. And since the lighting is probably darker in the bathroom you probably won’t notice much difference between the two paint colors I listed so it might just be easier to stick with what you have.
For me the key to a calm, relaxing home is continuity (and lack of visual clutter) so that is what would drive my decision. Lots of color makes some people happy and what I’m suggesting would bore them to tears. What is important to you? How do you want the space to feel? I want a bathroom to feel clean and fresh, soothing. A lot of items and a lot of different colors would not do that, for me.
