I have to admit, I don't care for the additions in the open space. The dome house--not to my taste, but left alone, I would not object.

I would not object. It's tidy and in good condition.
Maybe I'm comparing it to the shit house across the street from me. Where blankets are draped out of windows, the garage door is perpetually opened to display a packed hodgepodge of junk, and they build campfires on the ground in the front yard, then gather round in their pajama pants on cinderblock benches.

this house is in my neighbourhood. doll housethey change it up seasonally but has been like this for probably 20 years. it is already there - don't like it, don't buy a house near it. i can't even see any other houses around flintstone house? i guess if it popped after i had my house, i wouldn't be happy if it meant a decrease in the value of my home. but would that be the case in that neighbourhood?

"It’s no surprise that the ultra-rich residents of Hillsborough—which made headlines after three residents were implicated in the recent college bribery scandal—have an extensive and mandatory review process for any home construction or landscaping projects."
Ha. I think its cool but that is just me.

That's outrageous. I just don't understand finding joy in that front yard.
I agree with you, that if something is odd for a home, and you don't like it, then don't purchase near the odd one. However, it would be a delemia if you were there first and new neighbors created something like this.

I read it’s not even the neighbors who don’t like it - it’s the city. I thought people lived in non HOA neighborhoods so the HOA wouldn’t tell them what colors to paint their house, but seems like maybe people also don’t mind telling other people what to do with their houses.
I saw it last time we were on the west coast, you can see it from 280. It’s colorful and cute and well kept.

The house has been there for ages and we used to call it the igloo house because it used to be painted white. The new owners painted it darker and installed all the dino statues. I don't think any of the statues are visible from the street as the house is situated on a hill near the freeway.

The doll house is not so good. Absolute clutter outside!!
Flintstone house is very unusual, not so bad. The added yard decor may be a bit much but still neat.

I'm all for creativity and uniqueness so I'd be happy living next to the Flintstone house. Hope the local Piss Ants are shot down.

the town the flintstone house is in is extremely toney.. nothing under several million dollars. that house sat unsold for 3-5 yrs. it is on a small road, on steep hillside but very very visible from the freeway. I think the dinosaurs are a good joke.

The Dino house is very cute and looks nice.
The doll house is trash. We have 3 houses here that do that and it is trash. The crap outside gets dirty, moldy and falls apart. Who knows what is living in that trash heap.
I should say 2 houses because one sold, and the stuffed animals were taken down and the lot cleaned up.

That’s horrifying. I wouldn’t want to live next door. But I agree with you - if it’s already there, don’t buy in that neighborhood.
