Is "awesomeness" even a word? Anyway, hi. I apologize in advance for (1) never really being around, and (2) this shameless plug. As some of you know, my wife Evi is a former New York City tour guide, and during her time seeing every nook and cranny of the Big Apple, she took some amazing pictures. So two years ago, she started putting together a coffee table-type picture book. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!Because my wife can never stop learning, last year she started teaching herself how to program and created 3D, augmented reality apps. So she added those elements to her book! See here: Well, the book is finished, and the apps nearly are as well. She's started a Kickstarter campaign to fund the publishing and app expenses, and it's now over 50% funded. But there's only two weeks left and she's stressing out about whether she'll reach her goal. So, I'm trying to help her promote it as much as possible. Why? Because, you know, "Happy wife..."If you'd like to own an autographed copy of the book and have your name in the acknowledgements, please consider backing her campaign at Kickstarter HERE.Also, it goes without saying that I love you all.

Wow! What a cool concept and book. Is that technology that's in other books already or is her's the first? I wish her much success with it!

Wow! What a cool concept and book. Is that technology that's in other books already or is her's the first? I wish her much success with it! The technology is still in its infancy, so it's certainly not prevalent. I have seen where there is a winemaker that uses it on their labels. I haven't heard of anyone using it in a picture book of any kind, but that doesn't mean someone out there hasn't tried it. It's amazing stuff; in a couple of years, it'll probably be everywhere. Her long-term goal is to create virtual tour guides that show you around while you're wearing smart glasses like Magic Leap's or Microsoft HoloLens.

Wow that is amazing! What does she shoot with (photo equipment)? I am new to Pittsburgh and have been exploring/taking a ton of pics and would love to do something like this here. I wish her a ton of success.

I wish her a ton of success. She owns some fancy Nikon or something, but believe it or not, probably 80% of the photos were spontaneously taken with her cell phone. She's just got some kind of eye for photos. I apparently don't have that talent. Thanks for the wishes!

That's cool! She's using vuforia, yeah? I barely know what that is, but yes. I can't believe I married someone who's about a billion times more techy than me, yet can't seem to remember to put her phone on the charger at night.

Wow, that is one beautiful book and a great idea. As you say, there will be many applications for this sort of thing in the future. Good luck to her.
